So i was trying to fix an usb that got corrupted to do a backup of my drive and a friend said to me "try medicat".

I didn't know what it was so i just searched on google and downloaded and tried to install it but i didn't read that it was a toolkit that gets installed in an usb. (I couldn't find that info written on the webpage, maybe i missed it)

So when i installed it i selected my big drive thinking it was a program and there wasn't a warning saying it was going to get formated and disaster happened.

Maybe i should have put two and two together since was asking for secureboot, or the usb pictures in the webpage, but since i was suggested Medicat to format an usb, it went over my head.

Now I'm installing it into another usb i had around trying to recover the data from the formatted hard drive luckily not a lot is lost ;-;

I know probably most of the users know about the toolkit before getting it installed and I'm just dumb but a warning would have helped a lot.

So, a good Public Service Announcement: know your drive letters. Don't erase a drive if you're not sure. Don't zorch C: Use At Your Own Risk or get a professional

Got it
Big red block of text with yet another warning
YOUR DRIVE WILL BE ERASED

#

Also, are you referring to the Windows or Linux installer?

(I don't wanna fuck with the Windows one)

From the moment i execute the bat:

•Windows warning it may be not secure (execute anyway)
•Asks for administrator privileges.
•Warning it may be detected as a virus
•the cat ascii art
•page saying the program is free
•button install medicat
•the cmd says which drive but the pop up says select a folder (probably the issue was here)
•installing to d, is this the correct drive?
•use gpt or not
•use secureboot or not
•disk formated already

# sturdy junco it asked for correct drive

I mean yeah but since i never used it before i didn't know it formatted the drive, i was thinking i was just installing something.
So yeah i want to install it in my drive with all my stuff c:

Thus the warning

#

And this got aggravated by the pop up asking for a folder not a drive

#

But dunno the limitations of how does that work

Also I have a warning in place that doesn't allow it to be installed to C:/
