That's a overgeneralization of a complex problem

Vulkan is certainly more performant than opengl, but that doesn't mean it's better

Opengl is way easier to use and has literally decades of documentation

Just drawing a triangle in vulkan takes way more lines

I think opengl is fine for something like Minecraft which was originally a game from a small indie studio

Plus honestly Minecraft is not a hard game to run

It's surprisingly costly for a 2009 game but most modern hardware gets hundreds of fps on max settings even without fps boost mods

And yk I love vulkan it's great

I use dxvk on games all the time

It's just not always the right fit

Surprisingly costly is an overstatement to my worldview, at least considering it's not as GPU-intensive as bo1 (at least on underperforming (the "worse than an overheating 360" kind of underperforming) hardware that was manufactured years after it came out).
But aside that, based (more like biased) on my blind stupidity I'd say it's "better" in the long-run since it's... effectively(?) just the relatively low-level under-the-hood form (it's close enough for me despite being a different graphics API) of OpenGL.
