Your monitor has a limit of FPS it can handle

For example most monitors are 60hz, 75hz,120hz,144hz etc

If you have 60hz monitor vsync basically tries to keep it at 60 fps and not let it go over which is absolutely pointless

If you have a 144hz monitor and ur monitor can only handle 80-120 fps, vsync makes it so the fps is stuck at 80fps so that it’s stable FPS
