if anyone runs into same issue I just needed to basically reinstall minecraft by changing the Minecraft installation path in the Feather settings to a new folder on my pc

then I changed it back to the original .minecraft folder and it worked

Not really sure why it still worked after I changed it back to the original .minecraft folder in %appdata%, but nonetheless I'm happy it did because then I didn't have to completely readjust all my Minecraft settings and keybinds and add all my servers (since changing the installation path to a new folder basically reinstalls minecraft completely, meaning you have to set everything up again)

You are most likely banned off of multiplayer for Vanilla Minecraft. Unfortunately there isn't much we can do about this. However, This error may also show if there are issues on Mojang’s end. If you believe you are not banned try logging in with the vanilla launcher to see if that works or try leaving it a couple of hours.
