Lets try deleting cef_cache
you can do this by following this:

• Go into %appdata%
• Head into .minecraft
• Go into a folder called feather
• Delete the folder called cef_cache
• Relaunch!

if it's only laggy on feather's ui then it's pretty much because it uses jcef which basically means whenever you open a feather ui google chrome(technically the root of it called Chromium but as an embedded framework but slightly modified goin' by the name of FeatherWebHelper) opens up and starts rendering it

Hey man, I joined the Feather Client server rn cus I was having the same "Big Nametag" issue you were having. At least on my side i'm playing 1.8.9 with the MoreCosmetics mod so I could have a cape, assuming you're using the same mod, just press M and go to settings, then toggle off "Show Name".
