deleting .minecraft or parts of it is kinda mid, setting feather to a custom directory is much better... you can wipe the whole folder without caring - as long as you don't mind losing every single setting.
but it's better as in "more organized" the .minecraft folder becomes crumbled up with crap really fast when it comes to modding minecraft with the vanilla launcher.

for those who not know i found the solution to why the 1.8.9 wont start

its because of some feather client mods bugging the game and it wont start

just go in a newer version, turn off all your mods and then go into 1.8.9 again and it should start, im going to verify now whats the mod that is causing the version to crash.
