When launching feather and going into a multiplayer/singleplayer server the game basically freezes my fps is reduced to 1 frame every 10 seconds barely able to do anything. But when opening the feather mod menu my game is normal and my frames is restored until i go back out of the menu

hello all, I just recently decided to try feather and Im having some trouble getting chat background to clear. the option appears to be non-existent in vanilla settings and in the feather mod menu. I tried downloading fast chat as that disables chat background. but it says its already a default part of feather. wondering if I can get some help here?

When launching feather and going into a multiplayer/singleplayer server the game basically freezes my fps is reduced to 1 frame every 10 seconds barely able to do anything. But when opening the feather mod menu my game is normal and my frames is restored until i go back out of the menu
