#Portals now completely broken in VR (tested on 3 headsets as it broke in middle of our live demo)

To be clear. I was in a demo today with two senior staff from a VERY big organisation. We were trying to convince them to let us try to import some of their models into Spatial for showcasing at an event. Unfortunately the portals today in VR just dump you in a grey screen and need a full app reboot EVERY TIME you try and use them (the spaces are not the issue, they work fine in VR and PC once you join via the home screen). This is a major broken piece of functionality and it should never have made it through QA testing!
The only way to access a space you haven't been to before in VR:
Try to go through a portal
Get stuck in grey void
Open Meta OS menu and kill app
Reopen App
Login
Open Menu in Home
Click Recent
Click Space it tried to load via portal and failed
Land in Space.
To access a space you HAVE been to before in VR:
Open Spatial Menu
Leave Space
In Home Space Open Menu again
Select Recent/Your/Loved Spaces
Click Space
Land in Space
This is a seriously bad flow made worse by hiding the world hopping menu in all spaces but home.
I had the same problem yesterday doing a small demonstration to the rest of the team....

Yes but it shouldnt happen in the first place! This is twice in as many weeks that they have completely broken the VR app on a random daily release. What is their QA team doing?

Im not 100% sure when it broke as I've been building but not testing too much in VR (as i have to wait for publish). It was definitely fine on 17th May Australian Time (ahead of US so might have been your Thursday) as I made you guys a video showing the portals showing homespaces not spaces bug (will tag you).
I suspect it was whenever latest release was, the one that added the new loading bar.

@rich yew Do you have a space you can share where we can experience this happening?
Its literally any space made with the Unity SDK. Spatial portals to Spatial template worlds seem to work. Ill note that I havent updated many of these spaces between them working and them not working so I doubt its my stuff thats the only thing impacted.
The poster room i sent you a DM of before has several portals in it that have issues. Its also not the Q2 maxing out as the cpu/gpu/mem drop to idle once it lands in the grey void. Ive also had several Q3 users test and they all have the issue reliably reproduced.

Yes... we have been connecting several rooms with portals and users with VR could not access... it kept hanging loading.
@signal river Please get anyone else you know to report this here, cuz Spatial QA are saying that they are having trouble reproducing it. Given its ubiquitous I wonder what on earth they are trying

I shared the URL to your space and I'm waiting for an update.
Hell even a way to let me link to URLs in the mean time would assuage some of my stress (so I can make my own crappy portals).
I have no way of feasibly hosting my event if attendees cant get between spaces
This was reproduced by one of the engineers. Will let you know if I get any info on when a fix is coming!

Hi @fair shore just to confirm I tried this today and its now somehow MORE broken. It now completely crashes the app and you cant even open the Meta Quest OS to close the app. (Haven't tried this more than once so may be a one off worsening but def not fixed yet) any news?
