#Saving Spatial Data?

G'day @light cloak , @spark grotto and @ashen oak 🙂
During the past couple of editing sessions I've found that artefacts that I've added into my world, and the associated info labels, are not saving correctly. In most instances, when I return, the most recent changes have been undone (although the associated media that were uploaded are retained in the media gallery).

Is there a bullet-proof way to force save changes?

Cheers,
Jim

G'day again Spatial Team, Once again, I spent three hours adding new content this morning, updating info labels on graphics etc and none of it has saved. Any ideas on how to force save? Re-adding the media is not so bad, but rewriting the media captions is painful! Any help would be appreciated. Cheers, Jim

Ok...my workaround to this is to open a separate web browser and load the Spatial URL whilst simultaneously active in the space in the original browser. Seems to work consistently. This is a bit of a dodgy fix, but my labels and media are now being retained. Odd.

In your space, if you click the three dots, open settings, and click on the Space tab (first image), is your Auto Save set to on?

If so, you could try toggling it off, which will enable the manual save button (second image) and then you could click that...I know - this isn't a solution and if you keep encountering your content not saving, definitely submit a ticket & let me know.

G'day @next remnant and thanks for responding 🙂 Yes matey, it's on auto-save. If I toggle this off, where does the manual save button option appear? See screencap below - I can't see it? The weird hack that ALWAYS works is copying the URL into another browser window and relaunching the space as a guest. Every single change is automatically saved doing this - it's very odd -but works. This allows real me and 'guest' me to be in the same space at the same time, and in doing so it seems to trigger auto-saving.

Disregard.... I just saw the 'Save Space' button at the bottom of the three dot menu under Settings>Space (once auto-save is toggled off)! As my wife said, I had a man-look. I will stick with my hack I think, as I will forget to manually click that button as it's tucked away 😉

And by the way, yes - it would be more convenient, if you disable autosave, then the manual save button appeared and would always be in view, on the screen (for example, next to the backpack button).
