In setting > Space > environment setting, I can't change any option. I want to disable "compress object textures"

#

but under that section, it is written: Environment customization is unavailable

in your spatial portal window, under the config tab, is your "active package" of type space? that could be the problem

#

nvm, i just realized you re talking about the settings tab on spatial.io. i thought it was on the creator toolkit

Hello to everyone. Also have big issue with it -- "Environment customization is unavailable".

Space was uploaded with my custom template without Unity, then after missclick spatial`s template established.

How can I change it and return my custom template?

Hello, I just subscribed, and I wanted to change my template and test the possibilities, but I'm having the same problem – I can no longer change the template. This must be a bug, right?

Thanks for your feedback! Here’s a screenshot.

Pro you cannot vary, before purchasing Pro you must be sure that the space is completed. if you pay monthly cancel the contract and start again building a new space but buy again only after it is completed.

Oh, I see. I had chosen Pro just to test the differences and then select my space. But if I create a finished space and switch it to Pro, and later want to modify my template, I won’t be able to, right? Doesn’t this limit the evolution of our spaces?

#

What’s strange is that I took the Pro plan, and I was able to modify my space several times, but it got blocked after three changes. It seems like there’s a limit before it blocks

Yes, the two buttons 'Choose new environment' and 'Upload custom environment' are blocked. A restricted panel appears when I hover my mouse over them

pseudo mauve
#

Yeah, looks like there’s no choice, it’s just not great because I lost 10 euros in the process.

Yeah, not a big deal, I’ll be ready for the next space! I just hope the modification will work if I need to change the space after paying (custom).

# pseudo mauve The template used was Lake Classroom.

Thank you. That's one of the premium templates that cannot have its environment changed. Premium templates have a little blue "premium" tag on them. (as an example, in the attached screenshot, of the visible spaces, only the Campfire template is NOT a premium template)

This premium template restriction is something that is worded very poorly on the website. You aren't the first to encounter this. 😦 The pricing matrix makes it sound like you have access to numerous premium templates, but the reality is, you can only choose one. Once you create the space, it cannot be changed.

Sounds like you subscribed to PRO - I'd be happy to cancel that subscription and offer you a refund.

Hi hi hi!

I have the same right now and cannot change the environment on my space I've just upgraded to PRO.

Ugh, I am so sorry. This has not been communicated clearly enough on the website & in spaces - as you've seen, you're not the only one to have encountered this.

Many of the "premium" templates have been created by community creators who earn a revenue share whenever a subscription is purchased using their template. Unfortunately, selecting one of these templates immediately locks you into that environment, even if you didn't purchase a subscription. 😦

Is there still no way to have access to the environments, except creating a new space, choosing the only one environment and paying for it?

You can create as many spaces as you want, there's no limit and no subscription required. Your spaces will be accessible by you - this allows you to try out different templates. I admit, the process is a bit janky and being able to change the environment would be a MUCH better, and obvious approach.

When you use one of the premium templates, you only need to subscribe if you want to share the space with others and mark it public.

I'm a new user, how I had to understand that my space environment will be blocked for changing?

This is an excellent question. We clearly need to improve this, and I had submitted feedback to the team in the past on ways to improve this - but there aren't currently any plans to address it.

#

@gritty meadow If you'd like me to refund that subscription, I can.

If you want to go that route, #🎫︱submit-a-ticket and then share with me the ticket number.

then the question is only, what is faster, because I've already planned a meeting for tomorrow, prepared the space and upgraded (and then, for some reason, decided to switch the environment).

#

I assume you're not wanting to use the current space for the meeting?

#

Since it's Friday, the subscription is not likely to get transferred over the weekend.

OK, refund is better. I'll just upgrade another one space.

I'm surprised, that payed space have less options, than free one 😄 I'm really sure, that adding additional information for users before upgrading\switching to another premium template in upgraded spaces, must be forced to avoid similar issues in the future

oh, wait! #🎫︱submit-a-ticket and share with me the ticket number

In that, explain what happened

#

easier for me to share a ticket link with the team (there's been a few people affected by this premium template confusion)

I just signed up for a PRO account to preview this service. Was looking to provide a space for a "school" environment with around ~ 100 users. I am a little surprised by this gaping UI experience that I can only choose an environment once? There is absolutely nothing to indicate this, no warning message. At least I get a warning about deleting a space. I'm attempting to preview these premium templates to see if one is appropriate. Is there any way to do this. And how do I back out of this premium environment selection I was hoping to just try?

You're absolutely correct: it's misleading & confusing. During my time with Spatial, I did make suggestions on how that process could be improved.

The way it is right now, you do not need to subscribe to any pricing tier in order to try out the different environments - some of the environments cannot be switched though 😦

What I recommend before subscribing is, get your space how you like it: the environment, the objects, etc. THEN subscribe.

Perhaps @vast jolt can help you with your subscription and relay this feedback to the team.
