I did loosen the motor screws so they weren't touching the motors' wires but I didn't make them too loose. I'll try adding locktite when I get home

Use shorter screws. This is likely your problem.

They're tighter than I could screw without a driver but barely

Ok I know it took a while for me to test it but I shortened the screws and tightened them more and it still happens
