So when I was installing opentx firmware onto the xd9 2019+ radio I ran into a slight problem. I made sure to put my controller into the firmware mode by pushing the 2 switches in and clicking the power button…. I was using the Opentx Companion 2.3.15 and made sure I selected the correct radio. I hit the download button and selected “Download firmware”. I selected the file that said “opentx-x9d+2019-en.bin” and hit ok. After that I selected “read/write” and chose “write firmware to radio” it said everything was installed successfully so I exited out of that. after that I unplugged my controller and powered it off and now it won’t power back on. It won’t even go into the firmware mode either. I went to go remove the sd card but there was no sd card in the radio. I been using this radio for awhile and used the stock firmware. I only wanted to change the firmware to use crossfire. since I can’t go into the firmware mode anymore on my radio is there anyway I can download the firmware directly onto my sd card?… when I tried to do it it said “controller must not be plugged in”. does anyone have any suggestions. Thanks 🙏

step 1: go to this link: https://buddy.edgetx.org/#/flash?version=v2.8.0
step 3: select the newest version (as of time of writing is 2.8)
step 4: select your radio model
step 5: click “download.bin”
step 6: download it to a safe space that you will find later. some users like their desktop or downloads folder.
step 7: plug in your radio to the data port (usually the top USB-C one)
step 8: on your radio, select USB storage mode
step 9: navigate on your PC to where you have the radio, there should be many folders of the name of “tools” or “firmware” etc.
step 10: go into the “firmware” folder
NOTE: there is a firmware drive that has two items in it that is NOT correct! if you have questions, just ask.
step 11: drag the 2.8 (at time of writing) into the firmware folder.
step 12: disconnect the radio
step 13: turn off the radio
step 14: push both the bottom trim buttons inward, and while holding them, turn on the radio
step 15: release the buttons
step 16: select firmware flash or whatever
step 17: select the newest firmware, not the old one.
step 18: flash it by holding the enter button or the scroll wheel
