ok the joke went longer than it should have tbh but since we're already here

Jake turns around and what he saw was something that his years of training in the Wehrmacht couldn’t have possibly prepared him for, the corpse of his friend was laying right in front of him, his ears are ringing from the gunshot, his eyes are in shock after what he just saw and his heart began to sink. Spike’s corpse, completely unrecognizable, his entire head was open and you could see part of his skull in the ground, his “face” if you could call it that was now just an open casket, his brain splattered in the ground and wall, he was dead, what was just now a living human being turned into what can only be described as a husk. The stench was piercing through Jake’s nose and woke him up from his trance, he began screaming after coming back to his senses but then his survival instinct kicked in and realizes the situation he was in, quickly he took cover, right after that he notices a bullet going exactly where he just was, he managed to live a little longer. Jake’s ears were now bleeding, he did not come prepared so he had nothing to cover his ears with, he might have to sacrifice his hearing in order to survive.

Jake had to think and quickly “What can I do? I don’t even know where the shooter is, if only I had a gun, I would at least feel less hopeless. Wait, Spike’s corpse, after all he was still in a shady lifestyle, he surely must have been carrying a handgun at the very least! But I’ll be risking it all in trying to get that, but I guess that’s better than waiting to be gunned down like a dog… It’s all or nothing, like it always have been for me” Jake leaves his cover and runs to the remains of his friend’s body, he leaves no pocket unchecked with as much alacrity as he can, he finally finds the gun, it was a Browning Buck Mark, odd, the only man he ever knew who used those was Frank. He then jumps back to his cover just as the sound of another gunshot is heard, for a second time he manages to survive. “The devil’s own luck huh” he whispered to himself, but then a bullet went right past him, his cover was blown, he had to move, from that last shot he could tell where he was being shot from. After taking a look he can see the shooter, but he cannot decipher who it is though, it’s pretty far away, if he had to guess it'd be around 200 meters apart, so it would be possible. He takes a deep breath, makes sure to aim properly and he shoots, then, silence… should he still be in cover? Did he manage to shoot him from this far away? Could there be more than one? All those thoughts were going through his head, five minutes passed, five minutes of him anxiously trying to decide his next move he then decided to leave his cover and close the gap with the shooter. After getting closer he notices something, he finally recognizes him.

it’s very likely that frank turns out to be friendly after a few episodes of being mysterious, in which case, based on theories i made here earlier, he could end up as a defector from his organization because working for it has damaged his mental health
