I wanna talk about Guard and how the core crew(Jake and his friends) sees him wrongly and the weird rabbit hole around the crew itself

GUARD:

He's actually there to help Jake and his friends to prevent them from directly making contact with Frank.

Frank doesn't make direct contact with the core crew due to the fact that it could disturb his time looping stunt

Which by the way is powered by a device under the city itself

When I say the city I'm talking about the city and deloresn park

This machine is maintained by Frank and is the reason why we see him underground and the effects of this machine also stretches out to places like sunrise BLVD and the docks

But the guards dog is just legit a hater.

CREW:

They're hiding something from us. Not Jake and his friends now.... I'm taking about the crew at large

How exactly are they able to travel to a new city every new month

their art direction is much more defined now than 13(?) years ago, I can see why they wouldn’t just import over a bland archetype and decided to completely overhaul him to essentially a brand new character

it’s weird bc SS Ninja is the only character to be just an archetype—like Guard was just “Guard” until they gave him a name and started doing more with him—so he was never a real character to begin with. so I feel like the SSC design team recognized that and leaned into it by making Ninja One incredibly mysterious bc SS Ninja never had an identity to build off of.

but adding a random traditional Japanese ninja into a very modern/almost futuristic setting would be weird, so they opted to fully change his design—like how they yanked Yutani out of her suit probably bc they didn’t want her in her alien costume anymore. but she had the benefit of having her character set up thanks to the animated series (even before then she still had a leg up bc she had a name dhsjsjskks)
