So, I've tried making a new game for Sub Surf City (don't worry, my main game progress is still there), and I can tell that it is struggling to have Jake only as a character.

It may be easy to collect surfer tokens for Jake only, but the coins will be tough to collect because Jake doesn't have powers that help boost up coin farming. So, upgrading Jake is not easy because of how expensive the upgrade is. Even with the Trasher hoverboard.

I've played this for like over a month now and Jake is already Level 10, same as the Trasher hoverboard. My game XP level is Level 16 at this point.

I haven't unlocked any other characters and boards at this point. Even other districts, it is only Southline for now.

The reason for doing this is I want to see how it works with having Jake as the character only and how fast I can upgrade Jake, same as the Trasher hoverboard. But it is not easy, still.

They aren't skilled enough to play him correctly

His incremental score ability used to be uncapped which made him one of the top surfers, but ever since it got nerfed to cap at 5, he quickly became the weakest.

Playing with him is really slow and not fun also because his abilities heavily rely on magnets which is the weakest power up.

That's my take though. If you manage to have fun with him, then more power to you.
