thats what my behemoth should be doing but instead i have some kid who would never passed a vison test with a lazgun. humans cant dominate the plains and the hills man
1 and 2 directly contradict. AI that doesn't understand what the game is or how it plays is an absolutely useless to reference for balancing.
3 and 4 I directly pointed out as solutions.

i think lower damage but better mobility cud be a great tradeoff if the rail tank deems to be op in damage against cent and bugs

i dont think rail has the thrusters sadly so it cant boost into 360 no scope jumpshot
hover needs love too but rail gets all the love ouch
1m/s without the thrusters, like rail tanks dont fall behind in formation if hovers don't boost. doing the convoy in survival the rail tanks don't generally fall behind because Hover tank players don't abuse the boost and the hover tankers are the first to engage the enemy they usually stop or move tangentially to the enemy while doing so which keeps them from getting too far away
I would keep the rail where it is. It was nerved some time ago.
my real problem with the rail tank is it just good at everything, a problem with most things in this game tbf the rail tank is just the best generic, imo tech units should have some sort of niche to them that they specialized in.

Rail tank is bad against infantry, aiming downwards and has a limit upside aiming angle. The re-load timing needs to be managed well too

Yeah, but the reload time is quite long. If you are a good crab or wasp player, a rail tank has a hard time as well.
I agree but the rockets make that so much more of an unfair matchup, it’s not that it’s the perfect unit it’s just so good at being generic if that makes sense. Wasps and crabs trade pretty favorably once you get them in location but getting them their is the hard part, especially since they don’t lose as much effectiveness since they’re ranged

A good player can outmaneuver the rockets. They are also quite inaccurate from mid to far range. Also it is hard to kill infantry with the rockets due to a lower damage multiplier. Plus the rail is very expensive. The main issue I see is not the rail, but no alien unit, that can deal with infantry and tank units on flat ground
idk even with the AI being so accurate for the longest time the only tank ive ever feared as an alien player is the rail tank and its the only one i struggle to kill
hovers can be killed on flat ground with scorps or behes if you juke n dodged a lil bit
rails generally get decent protect but yes they can be killed with wasps although theres always more coming and alien coms hate making lessers
But it requires far more skill to take out a rail tank than to kill the player and you might not always have a player available for the task
yeah indeed, but that accounts also for other units. In my perspective it still makes no sense rn to make changes to the rail, because the game is not balanced out. Alien units will definitive some more work because they will probably suffer against Centauri as well.
This is true, but it’s an answer I don’t like to use because, saying the game isn’t ready so it’s unbalanced is a very deeply unsatisfying answer and leads to the arms race of making things to stop other things where it the problem was just cut at the source we wouldn’t have to do even more mental gymnastics to figure out what could work
aliens are going to kick cents ass the heavy tank is nowhere near pack a punch as the rail and aliens absorb explosive damage better shich is mostly what cent is
the rail is impact damage only which is why its so op
its mostly just rails in groups they become the worst to deal with and if cent proves to be weak then i dont think buffing the heavy tank is the right idea we need to nerf rail
The reload also takes effort to manage cause it is bugged to double punish you.
It hits much faster with the rail tank's 3 rounds
Rail does penetration or impact. And it has a high penetration stat, if it doesn't penetrate it does impact.
That impact mostly with deflection.
