Idea is what it sounds like. How do we get some sort of repair station on a Heavy Factory?

Well it looks like there is plenty of unused space on the building footprint. Attached are some images proving my point.

Hopefully Dram and team can perform some renovations to provide us with repair stations on the factory itself. Or perhaps a side structure that players can use to spawn their own vehicles.

Its not perfect as it does not apply to every structure. However I think that in the case of the Heavy Factory there is an abundance of space that can be utilized.

Railgun tank is a tight fit to be sure. But its not too hard to slide into place. A little structure modification and it'll fit much easier.

I'll also add that its entirely possible somebody thought of this first.

I just happened to notice it and everything felt so natural I had to put it together and show it off.

Not to mention that these bays/spots don't have to be the designated repair area. They just see to fit well with it. The floor plan of the Heavy Factory has tons of space that can be redesigned/repurposed for repairs or spawninig player vehicles.

it would be cool to have robot arms/ hoverign over the repair stations just to visually indiciate repairs are being made

yeah, just something to make it look like a repair bay or something. Perhaps a crane mounted on the roof for removing turrets (purely cosmetic, dont need to give it any functionality), a couple of tool chests along the walls, and some fancy schmancy lasers that can produce the orange grid affect of constructing things, ramps to get the vehicles into and out of the repair bays

never played that game, but yeah I guess.

My hope is that all factories that are capable of producing units also have the means to repair those units.

That would be in addition to having field mechanics/engineer units and possibly other units responsible for repairing vehicles, although less efficient since nothing beats having a dedicated workshop/garage

could even do a Sol/Centauri split on how repairing vehicles is handled, although Im not sure how to envision that

I like the idea of repairing vehicles at their respective factories. I don't think there will be any rework of the buildings though, since that's a large amount of work. Maybe a dedicated buildable repair station could be a nice addition.
