An idea for a new infantry class.
Might be irrelevant due to the Infantry rework that is planned.
Heavy class infantry uses rocket launchers, miniguns, Stingers/manpads, etc
Breacher class is similar, but uses lighter weapons. Doesnt use exclusively heavy weapons but does use things like:
Auto Shotgun (20-30m max effective range)
Grenade Launcher (200m max range) (poor damage to armored vehicles, poor damage to structures, good damage to infantry and lesser aliens)
Flamethrowers (50m max range)
Could also give the Breacher a riot/bullet shield + SMG
Heavier/more protective armor than Heavy class infantry. Very slow movement and highly resistive to small arms fire.
Should win pretty much every fight with a crab unless the crab can stealth its way up to the Breacher.
Because a crab charging an auto-shotgun should mean insta death
A Hunter should take out a single Breacher (with a shotgun) with relative ease. 2 Breachers would mean losing an annoying amount of health. 3 Breachers should be able to a formidable damage to the Hunter, even kill it if the Hunter shows its weakpoint to any of them.
A rifleman should be able to kill a breacher without too much difficulty since the Rifleman can use range to his advantage.
But if a rifleman assaults a barracks or structure with a Breacher in that same building, the Breacher has a clear advantage
