When personal resources are added in Silica instead of just using them to spawn as a higher tier infantry I think that it should also be used to call in support. for example if your tanks are having a hard time with wasps you could spend a few thousand and call in a dropship full of riflemen or scouts, the dropship would of course go back to an air factory and despawn. this would allow infantry to play a more vital role in the battle and players other than the commander would have more impact on the match.

The ability to requisition troops for your squad seems like a must to me.
I want to buy a teleport anchor with my personal resources. I want to sneak behind enemy lines, open up the TP anchor, and contribute to a full-scale sabotage strike behind enemy lines
just to combine some ideas mentioned by other. the way i see personal resources working is every minute or so in game fps players will receive a baseline of "wages" or resources mabye 20 per minute. com can get upgrades for this through research. we could then add in the officer or lieutenant class.
this class has inferior weapons but recieves more "wages" per min and can then spend it on off map arty strikes or summon a squad, depending on research, maybe through drop pods for a more intantaneous deployment.
i was also thinking aside from the sub commanders, the officer could deploy a small drone to access a very localized commander interface. the drone can be attacked but would hover near the top of the map to help it be discreet. this would allow for a limited control of nearby units
sorry for wall of texting, but i know that giving the commander the ability to share the teams reserves with the fps players could lead to abuse but, would fps players being able to share their money, say to get a tank quickly be a good idea or if it would be the same toxic gimme money attitude?
The ability to buy anything but a POV, or a Squad of infantry would be too Abusable, as I see it these things need to be requisitioned without eating the Commander's Build queue buying bot controlled vehicles or more than a squad of infantry would be too easy to abuse.
what i meant was more that 2 or more players could pool or donate their resources to pop out a tank or something like that. it could be a give someone 100 resources option or that when you go to select a vehicle that if you do not have enough, you can spend all you have available and your friend or many team mates could then cover the rest. almost like an in game kickstarter but for vehicles or squads of troops.
Interesting idea! We would need to think of some ways so this does not become OP. Maybe a restriction of how much resources can be shared to another player and also how many can share to one player within a reasonable time.
given the idea of the "wages" system or x resources per min, i dont see this being a very op mechanic as players would have to save their resources from buy multiple heavy, commando classes to buy or donating towards 1 or 2 tanks later in the game. the only issue i can see with the wages idea could be the uneven spread of players between the different teams. A reduction in wages if you cap out at maybe 750 then your personal wages are halved. this lets you get the commando and a half but discourages long time saving

makes sense. so would that mean that the cut of resources is evenly spread among all players? so more players mean less cut each? this is where i think a weak passive wages system could still work.
