i think a good way to keep track of you destroyed humany terrarin as well as create a bit more depth is leave either a ruin or the concrete platforms all the human buildings are based upon, this gives two functions, firstly allowing the structures to not simply disappear allowing for both more cover and a less janky experience, but could also allow the human commander to rebuild the structure for either a reduced cost or time.

This has been confirmed I believe. Structures will leave a "ruined version" behind that can be also destroyed I think. But would not be permanent. Leaving it forever may cause problems for the Human Commander to place new structures. We don't have details. So it is TBD in how it will be implemented.

Also, vehicles, specially harvesters and big units such as the Siege Tank will leave a carcass that will slowly sink into the sand.

Yeah having permanent built structures in an RTS is absolutely annoying

We could possibly take inspiration from planetary annihilation for a solution to this. They have permanent ruins structures but you can salvage them to gain resources back, thereby removing them. You can also build on top of them, automatically starting the salvage, meaning you gain resources back and then building construction starts automatically after its done salvaging.

Could maybe also be cool being able to salvage enemy ruins as well in some way. So you get extra resources to make up for the resources you lost in war if you're in a 1v1v1.

#

So the remaining faction in the 1v1v1 who didn't fight isn't necessarily just in a better position.

Would be really awesome having entire ruined cities from the remains of one of the factions though 😄
