#Add an AI ability to get into the transport

Any particular game or vechicle you have in thought
Or concept art you had seen
Or method you had seen in other games
Logistically air transport would serve that purpose, maybe a simplified battlefield system of having 2 spaces in light quads and 4 in the heavy quad.
I can't upload screenshots or any other files to Discord due to blocking
And so, basically the same units for transporting infantry from RedAlert3
In any case, I think it is necessary to add transport to speed up the movement of units, since moving infantry all over the map is just boring and long
There are already troop carriers in game, Dram just needs to get the AI working with it. You can play around with it in the arena.
Yes, I agree that there are armored personnel carriers, but they still can't transport units normally, which is very sad
Other than seatings and amounts, and the already existing air unit in game, is there any mechanic or meta you had thoughts of for it? And any particular unit from ra that you thought of the most.
If ra is what you mean by Red alert 3, then it's quite an interesting idea to see something like Bullfrog Transport or KA-65 Twinblade in the game if you already take into account air transport
If you're meaning air transports that allow you to move large units from point to point like the at-te/gunship combo from starwars, then yeah fair enough. but maybe wait until we have air units first. Dram will probably add it in the future.
I'm not just talking about air transport, I would like to see transport for ground transportation
you want to see a car to transport your car?
You want to see transport for ground transportation
so you want to see a car that transports your car
Which we have. and they can hold units. The AI just doesnt work with it

these two? Is there any particular aspect that you liked about them? Weapon placement, driver pilot placement, engine placement, the shapes etc
Bullfrog has the ability to land infantry at a short distance or height using a cannon that is located behind, but it doesn't matter, I just want to see a transport for the most ordinary transportation of units
https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q238576 This is an example of the most common transport
Yes, you can sit down and control it, but how can I load infantry using RTS mode?
Because I play this game as a strategy, and I didn't see any instructions in the department or anywhere else on how to put infantry inside this transport.
You cant yet, Dram needs to fix the Ai to allow this
He has planned this for ages
you can do it, its in the game, but the AI is planned to do this, it just cannot yet.
This is really important if you are playing RTS mode, as the infantry goes on forever
I think then it's worth correcting the name of my topic in the discord a little
Add an AI ability to get into the transport
You dont need to suggest this, its already on the to do list
I wonder how soon it will be implemented
Whenever dram gets into that part, transports are already ingame just not implemented for play yet. Likely still needing work when it comes to functions.
I'd think this will be added before air units, since there are transports for air units as well and trying to get them to work might be a step above.
Hi, please tell me what this transport is called, I can't find it in the game
Its in arena. Its called the armored troop transport or some variation of that
Bad
When they finally add something like this to the strategy mode, this is too lacking
Its an apc, what are you expecting. Its meant to be flanked by lite armored cars and a tank. There is an air unit that does the same thing.
The fact it has a single cannon on it at all is good
no
?
What does the principle of guns have to do with it? I'm talking about the fact that there is not enough such transport in strategy mode
I really don't know what you're on about. How many variations of an apc do you want. We will be getting a land version and an air version. The heavy quad also has troop transport capabilities. Thats 3 variations of the same function
I'm talking about the fact that right now in strategy mode there is not enough transport to transport soldiers
Right now there is 0. Because the ai doesn't know how to cope with loading units within units. This has been stated many many times as coming in the near future.
The vehicles are done and would be in the base game right now if the AI could cope. Unfortunately it cannot. This is coming and has been known to be coming since the initial release.
I understand, but again, there may be not only bots, but also players in soldier mode, in any case, I think it's worth waiting for the next update, in which air transport will be added to strategy mode, given that I saw an infantry transport plane there, perhaps the developer will finally add artificial intelligence use transport
If your that desperate to try it out in a game with your mates, you can always Spawn it in with cheats
Theres a thread detailing how to do this along with tutorials on YouTube
thx
there is no need for that
Dram is one guy too. He is the only constant in the development. There may be contractors or artists involved here and there but for the most part, this game is all him. He has been busy addressing bugs, fixing the harvesters, begrudgingly adding turrets (this is something he did not want to do however the community asked him for them), adding a ping system, improving text coms between players, improving path finding, adding outposts and finally getting air units ready for next month on top of getti g the AI to work with troop carriers. All of this plus engaging with the community, keeping deadlines, keeping bohemia happy, shoving out near weekly updates AND having a life. In summary, saying "bad" and "this is too lacking" about a game developed by ONE GUY who actually listens to his community and fulfills the dreams of many of them is very narrow and quite frankly rude.
well that's his opinion, he can have it. I think troop transports of any kind are superfluous, FPS players wanna shoot and fight, not be on transport duty all game
I actually quite like the logistical side of the game. I usually grab a harvester and force resources into our stores. I'd be down to run squad deployment from a dropship. But thats just me.
Yes people want to fight, but it takes a lot of time to get soldiers from point A to point B
Yes, I understand perfectly well that one person created this wonderful game, and I sincerely respect his work, all I did was offer an idea, which, in my opinion, is an important part to make the game more interesting and effective for both soldiers and commanders
It was unfair of me to go off at you like that. You are correct though. It is an important part.
You realize the cmdr can order the apcs to move around too, right?
with units in it?
