#Idea for centauri

Its interesting sure, but the slacker rebel faction going toe to toe with le evil corrupt high tech faction and standing a chance is kind of stale to me.
Fair. That’s the vibe I was picking up from reading the chat, but I believe a poor/scapper idea is interesting. It would also allow for the introducing of new harvesting methods. More labour oriented.
yeah im not thrilled with the mad max faction idea here either.
Plus the intro cut scene makes them out to be a relevant military power.
They already have an established 'risen from the ashes' plot line.
do you know where I can find these resources ?
"scrappy" not "scrapper"
Watch the intro
intro?
Yeah, when you launch the game?
ohhh gotcha
You can rewatch it from the main menu too, top right corner.
will do
The art makes it out to seem like they started out in poverty, living in tent camps and what not, until they launched their own mining enterprise.
It then cuts to a massive dystopian looking mega city type backdrop.
I see how the “mad max” idea doesn’t really fit in with the Centauri.
And this 'lays the foundation for conflict', so they are canonically enough of a threat to catch the attention of Sol.
they are still the underdog
But they aren't a gang of psychos on motorcycles.
but are more focused on flexibility and resourcefulness
Cold War Soviets.
'This rifle will work after I left it in Balterium dust for a month'
'And we made it cost me 10 space bucks'
Soviets matched America in Tech more like Cold war China, a step behind but still able to beat the USA.
I was thinking more like design doctrine.
So cheap anyone can afford it, so tough you barely have to take care of it, so easy a child soldier can use it.
Now apply to everything.
In the broadest possible terms I think Centauri units should be cheaper and more durable than a comparable Sol unit, who will outmatch it in firepower and speed.
kinda yeah, add in the idea they can pinch the penny to make it scream. much more focus on finesse
Exactly. I'm excited to see what they end up looking like.
Sol: Space Saudis. The nicest toys on Earth in the galaxy and they can barely use them.
oh man is it warcrimes O'clock? Sol just feels like it got insulted
