Been playing alien a lot and i've noticed this issue, Currently the way that the alien faction works is interesting but theres an issue with the fact that as an alien faction you HAVE to spam. However with the way the resources work for the aliens our nodes simply get eaten up so quickly for only a measly amount of troops in comparison to the humans. Of course we can make more troops than them but on average our troops are worse off than human units especially considering when players are in control of them.
And then theres somemaps where it takes an alien forever to get to the node required for resources via expansions, yes you can build nodes to get the resources faster but now im spending resources to get resources so that i get resources faster so that i can make more more units that waste tons of resources with little payoff unless you have players controlling them or the human player isn't lucky.
One fix i would like is being able to chain construct nodes and increasing the resources in a singular node so that aliens can effectively make a swarm without having to scour the entire map hoping that the humans aren't smart enough to send tons of buggys to snipe your shrimp.
yes you can make turrets but players aren't stupid and you can just tell the AI to bypass the turrets which is like the easiest thing to do.
