Yo Dram, what do you think about throwing in the bunkers that spawn around the map as a buildable base defence for humans as a test/ stopgap as you (maybe) look into other defensive structures? maybe have something like a static, large Impaler tail defence for aliens as their version? just as a way to test how defensive structures like that change gameplay strategies.

The only active emplacement humans currently have that they can build are the HQ's

that is a fair an interesting idea, but in an immediate capacity, my suggestion would be used until upgradeable defences are a reality, if that is even the route dram takes.
