#RP features

Story time: So, for those of you which pay attention to my incoherent ramblings and sociopath rants, you may know that I am a Barotrauma player. One of the things I loved about Barotrauma was the RP feature of smoking (stay with me). In terms or mechanics, smoking helped reduce psychosis (not that I've ever known anyone to do it for that reason). Usually, smoking was a social and expressive tool.

I have this image burned into my mind of one of my fellow malpractitioneers smoking by the medbay window: The room was dimly lit, only the surgical light was on, you would be forgiven for not seeing him. Occasionally you would see the haze of smoke with light dancing off the grey hues, Illuminating a stony face. If this was real life, it would look like their method of coping, feeling nothing as they stare into the malevolent abyss. The trauma they've been through eating away at their soul.

Now, I doubt Dan is adding smoking to the game. I am curious though, will there be the implementation of these sort of RP tools? Things like this can really add flavour and even start RP where there would have been none. Our Barotrauma campaigns were never meant to be RP, but occasionally we'd have moments like that, and they were memorable.

I apologise If this question has already been answered, I don't have time to check right now and I would like an answer.

You're right that we won't be adding smoking to the game. Aside from it being a stupid habit 😛 It'll up the ratings. IF we get to a point where everything else is finished and we already have enough in game for the rating to be higher, it might get added to the RP tools.

Also smoking will put more stress on the air filtration system. I doubt it would be smart to send smokers to space
