I had this happen with a G-class star too today. HIP 83609, 18.47 LY from Sol. Also, in my screenshot, there's another nearby star also exhibiting the "Extreme Size" behaviour. Strangly, the scanner still shows me 0 LY from Sol upon arrival at HIP 83609.
