Greetings, I am a college student aspiring to work in full stack software engineering. I intend to develop a portfolio project that will take the form of a cross platform app involving storing user info (and therefore requiring a database). From my research, I learned the two most common ways to develop a cross- platform for mobile are flutter and react native. Looking into jobs on my schools hiring page, I have noticed a lot more job postings for react native (and more generally react, which I also have experience in due to my current internship) than flutter, so I am leaning towards that. From my research, a MERN tech stack is very common, but I have also been told that it's better to learn/use a relational database like postgres. My question is: Which tech stack would you suggest learning and using for this project to make myself most appealing to the industry - MERN, PERN, or something else entirely? Thanks and all the best!

cross platform always sucks but react native is the best choice
hopefully Lynx + Vue will be viable soon as well
I actually don't know any companies running MERN but maybe I'm just stupid
Imo it also doesn't make sense to "learn" entire stacks, I'd suggest you learn the parts and then mix and match as needed
also #fuckmongo
Tbf the jobsite I was checking is mostly for startups and smaller companies
Thanks for the input either way tho!
I like postgres
I also like Mongo as a product but I can't stand the people there ever since they tried to sue 🤣
