#router doesn't show logs/history

You will most likely need a network monitoring software or install custom firmware on your router
Also also, you might be able to see the URLs like but most connection are secured now, so you won't be able to see the information shared
Would a Network monitoring software work 100% or is it just a hit or miss with home routers.
Cause I haven't found much Information about Nokia routers
Most people use Asus or some other brand of router which they say is trackable
It depends what you mean by hit and miss.
Generally it allows to see pretty much all the traffic but again, if they use secure connection, like ssl, you won't be to see much more.
Well I'm not very much an expert in this domain my apologies. I just want to learn for both tracking my logs and to know more regarding pricey and such. So in what section of the home gateway of the router can I check if it is SSL or not.
And by hit and miss I meant would it 100% work or not likely etc
SSL isn't at the router level.
No it would 100%. Maybe except if you don't know how to properly use the tools you're using
You might want to look into wireshark, that said, if you have a bad knowledge of networking and communication it will be gibberish.
So are those monitoring services and software free or do you have to pay a certain amount to use them ? Wireshark for example
Again, there's also firmware that you can install on your router like OpenWRT.
Some might be payed but lots are free and. Wireshark is free.
There is also things like Pi-Hole that are useful and allow you to monitor your network (in the case a pi-hole it's to block ads)
So does Wireshark show the exact URL or would It only share the website something like /openlibrary.org or would it show specifics ?
Also would the router matter at all then ? For monitoring through software. Like does it work with all kinds of routers
Since I said mines could probably not store anything at all
Since it's only a home router
Just to be clear here, openlibrary.org is a url.
If you know how to use it, you can get full URL but if they use a secure protocol like HTTPS, you won't be able to see the content attach it the request (ex. Credentials)
Oh gotcha gotchu that's what I meant it's just English isn't my first language my bad
You don't need it to monitor traffic on the router, at least on normal routers, but it's always easier at the router level.
It's fine, I'm just making sure we are on the same page.
I understand. On the first phrase you said that connections are secured now so you won't be able to see the information shared
Does that mean that it would only show the web name but not the detailed URL ?
I you go on openlibrary.org/blablaabla you would see ``openlibrary.org/blablaabla`
It could be a fun exercise for you to download wireshark and try it. (warning: it's not as easy as you might think)
