Hi all,

This is my first time contributing, I want to contribute to this project: https://github.com/missive/emoji-mart.
I do as they say in the readme.md, run yarn install.
But this shows me 600 new zip files to commit in the .yarn folder?

Isn't it setup correctly on their gitignore?

Could anyone give me some guidance please, thanks!

Can you show us the files

It does seems like their gitingore is badly setup to prevent this issue. Perhaps that could be your first contribution. You can always try to communicate with the mainters to see if this is intentional and if so, how to handle the issue.

Is there a chat function on github?

Not there's not. Generally you would open an issue. If you prefer trying to contact the maintener directly, search in the readme or on their profile for any communication method like email, discord, etc.

If you don't find any, just open an issue explaining the issue you're having. Be sure to give as much details as possible (that includes screenshots) and to explain clearly your confusion or other request.

The last solution is to simply add do some changes to their gitingore and open a pull request. That said, I think you should try the 2 above before this one. You can also simply ignore the issue and no commit the files.

yes, email or open an issue and ask a technical question, be VERY VERY POLITE 🙂

Not sure if this is just a stupid question or that my setup is not configured properly, but why does your .gitignore does not exclude the .yamlcache/ folder ?
