#Kometa Overlay Reset Black Posters

i just ran the reset and now the movies are just black is there an easy way to fix that?

1: Go to your config folder

2: Go into the logs folder

3: Look for meta.log (not meta.1.log etc)

4: Drag it in the Discord thread - the whole thing, DO NOT EDIT IT

Log file too big? USE PASTEBIN or ZIP THE FILE

Which ever reset the images.

Typically, this is caused by the image being set to something that isn't an image. For example, if a script tells Plex to set the poster on a movie to http://www.apple.com Plex will happily attempt to do so and a black poster like this is the result.

My first question would be:

What problem were you attempting to solve by using the overlay reset? That tool is a blunt instrument that is rarely needed. Knowing why you felt you needed to use this blunt instrument might help inform next steps.

If you just want to replace the posters with something, you can use Kometa's mass poster reset operation.

i have used kometa only once and that was a couple months ago and now i just want all the posters reset

so i searched a bit and found kometa overlay reset and ran it

i might just have missed some setting, before that run i didnt had the original flag enabled

"reset" in what way? overlays removed and original posters restored? All reset to TMDB artwork? All reset to Plex artwork?

So what you want is:

remove overlays and replace whatever art was originally assigned in favor of Plex artwork

Is that the case?

i ran it and all the ones that had overlays are now black and the movies that didnt have overlays are still there

You'd run Kometa with these two settings:

libraries:
  Movies:                  # or whatever the library is named
    remove_overlays: true  # remove any overlays
    operations:
      mass_poster_update:
        source: plex       # reset every poster to the default plex poster
