#Dynamic Collections

Hello, me again, sorry!

I’ve tried to adapt these collection files and make them into dynamic collection files so
I can use them across multiple libraries instead of making a new file for each library.

My question is, have I made a pig’s ear of these? Seem to get a lot of errors through so I obviously haven’t understood how they need to be set up.

Cheers folks!

Those are not valid dynamic collection definitions. Also, library_name appears to be something you've [or AI?] made up.

What's the goal with this? I don't understand why you see this as necessary to use a common collection definition across libraries.

My question is why this was required:

I was using a single yaml file for each library

There's no reason within Kometa why you would have to do this. The defaults are all common YAML files used across libraries. The very same "IMDB Popular" definition gets run on all movie libraries without problems, for example.

What's the specific problem you are trying to solve that required a separate YAML file in each library for the same collections?

What is it about this:

collections:
  Recently Released:
    smart_filter:
      sort_by: added.desc
      all:
added: 92 # added in the last 92 days
release: 365 # released within the last year
      limit: 250
    visible_library: true
    visible_home: true
    visible_shared: true
    collection_order: release.desc
    sync_mode: sync
    delete_not_scheduled: false
    limit: 250
    sort_title: "!000_Recently Released"
summary: "New releases added in the past three months. Sorted by Date Added."

That doesn't meet your requirements? Just the library name in the title of the collection?

Kometa doesn't have "library name" as a variable for this purpose, so far as I know. Doesn't the UI display this already?

I’ll need to check when I get home from work. I’ve always done a single file per library for some odd reason.

Looks like for collections you create yourself the "in Library Name" doesn't appear on the home screen

#

But it does for Plex' own:

Ahh ok. Wonder if it’s just worth me doing it via plex itself then.
