#Some posters not getting updated

I'm using pattrmm now to add airing dates but noticed that a handful of media isn't getting any banner applied to its poster.

After investigating one, I noticed this error in the Kometa log

has an Overlay and will be updated when overlays are run

I've searched on Discord and found reference to this, but not with regards to anyone saying it was preventing posters from actually updating.

How do I resolve this, as ths issue persists after multiple runs of Kometa.

Welcome @topaz shoal!

Someone from <@&938443185347244033> will assist when they're available.

Including meta.log from the beginning is a huge help. Type !logs for more information.

After attaching your log, do not forget to hit the green check boxes when prompted by our bot.

Or maybe that isn't the actual log entry that matters..

#

I dont' actually find any Errors. Just various Warnings.

Drag the log in here so we can have a look.

That specific message is just letting you know, while processing the assets_for_all operation, that the image is not being updated just now since it has overlays and will be updated later.

This one log (just for TV shows) is 20MB..

#

May have found an actual error.

If a thing isn't getting an overlay you expect, almost certainly the reason is that it doesn't qualify for the overlay for one reason or another, or an error of some sort occurred while processing the overlay [though this latter would tend to kill the overlay entirely, not just on some things].

#

The logs can contain information pointing to one or the other, which is why we ask for them.

topaz shoal
#

One thing that may or may not matter, I notice pattrmm uses TMDB for its lookup

2024-05-12 00:32:08 - INFO: Found ID ==> 91056 for "Blown Away"

And Kometa uses TVDb

[though this latter would tend to kill the overlay entirely, not just on some things].

I double checked this, and can verify the top level poster other expected overlay elements (like resolution).

Providing Log Files

1: Go to your config folder

2: Go into the logs folder

3: Look for meta.log (not meta.1.log etc)

4: Drag it in the Discord thread - the whole thing, DO NOT EDIT IT

5: Still confused? ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Log file too big? USE PASTEBIN or ZIP THE FILE

Some of the shows I'm seeing it on are

  • Blown Away
  • Veep
  • The Daily Show
  • Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

All of those have overlays from Kometa directly. But none have the overlay coming in from PATTRRM.

#

Oh wow, this is the first time I've uploaded a log and reviewed the feedback. I have a LOT to look through. Lots of great stuff in there.

ocean jetty
#

The PATTRRM overlays are applied by Kometa.

#

PATTRRM generates files that you then add to the Kometa config.

topaz shoal
#

Yes, which are working for hundreds of other shows, except some of the ones I listed above.

#

Is it more likely this is a pattrmm problem?

#

Given that the overlays for things directly from Kometa are working?

ocean jetty
#

It could be a cache problem since it seems that they are all failing because of ID lookups. You might try renaming the cache file and running Kometa to rebuild those lookup tables.

topaz shoal
#

config.cache?

ocean jetty
#

that's the one.

ocean jetty
topaz shoal
#

A banner at the bottom that says the status of the show (ended, canceled, airing <next date>, etc)

#

Similar to Kometa's (which I disabled), but with the expanded feature of adding in airing dates.

ocean jetty
#

Yep, I'm familiar with them. It sounded like maybe you were expecting PATTRRM to reach in and apply overlays itself.

neon osprey
ocean jetty
#

Perhaps, but it seems odd that something like Adam Ruins Everything can't get a tvdb id

neon osprey
#

True, true

topaz shoal
#

Or The Daily Show?

#

Seems pretty odd, and I’m still not certain WHERE the failure is (that’s causing the airing banner from pattrmm not to apply)

topaz shoal
#

Okay, a couple of new details I've discovered.

  1. The "Recently Added" view on the Plex homepage is NOT reliable. Veep is one of the shows that is missing a status. But that's because on the Recently Added TV, its showing me the poster for Season 2, and the season posters don't have this status applied. If I check the actual show poster, it DOES show the status.
  2. The Daily Show and Last Week Tonight still don't have the airing status from pattrmm, even at the top level of the show. But What I did notice is both of these shows have the multiple editions icon on their posters. So I wonder if that's related?
topaz shoal
#

So Veep we have an answer for. It has the airing status, but I wasn't seeing it on the Recently Addeded view. So that can be removed from the list.

Blown Away still doesn't have the top level status on the poster, but like Daily Show and Last Week Tonight, it has the multiple editions icon.. which I'm starting to wonder if its some how related.

#

But I dont' understand why it has that overlay.. I don't see any other editions, and didn't know a TV show could have them.

#

Or am I confusing what that icon is..

ocean jetty
#

Do you have multiple files for some or all the episodes?

topaz shoal
#

No that's why I'm confused.

#

But for Blown Away, 3 of the 4 seasons show multiple editions. And yet on disk, there is only one file per episode.

ocean jetty
#

If you don't have any multiple-version TV shows, why are you applying that overlay to them?

topaz shoal
#

I have no idea why its being applied..

#

I didn't even think TV shows could have multiple editions

#

I thought that was Movie only

ocean jetty
#
  TV Shows:

topaz shoal
#

Ugh, I was searching for "edition"

#

Removing that from all TV sections

ocean jetty
#

That overlay is running this plex search in a tv library:

    plex_search:
      all:
        episode_duplicate: true

So Plex apparently think there are duplicate episode files.

topaz shoal
#

running a one-off scan against just my TV shows, after having removed the versions setting from the config.

topaz shoal
#

One-off scan is complete. It removed the "versions" from TV Shows, but the pattrmm status still isn't showing up on Last Week Tonight, The Daily Show, Blown Away, or some others.

#

Here is an updated meta.log.

#

Much smaller as its TV Shows only and nothing else.

#

I'm not sure if I over looked this previously, but all the sections related to the pattrm overlays have a handful of these errors:

[2024-05-13 10:49:47,978] [builder.py:2979] [WARNING] | Filter Error: No TVDb ID found for Battlestar Galactica |
[2024-05-13 10:49:48,590] [builder.py:2979] [WARNING] | Filter Error: No TVDb ID found for Blown Away |
[2024-05-13 10:49:48,869] [builder.py:2979] [WARNING] | Filter Error: No TVDb ID found for Brooklyn Nine-Nine |
[2024-05-13 10:49:49,113] [builder.py:2979] [WARNING] | Filter Error: No TVDb ID found for Call the Midwife |

And when I check Plex, all of them are indeed missing any kind of status overlay from pattrmm.

#

I copied those errors from lines 40941-40944

topaz shoal
#

Releated to the multiple versions thing, I'm noticing in the log its splitting a ton of shows, and those same shows are the ones missing the status banner.

topaz shoal
#

Well... I fixed it? Though I don't know WHAT fixed it. Everything now has the expected statuses..
