#Plex Error: Plex did not respond within the 60-second timeout. (Unraid)

Faced with error below despite all plex details being correct.

Plex Error: Plex did not respond within the 60-second timeout.

So I do not need support and will close this issue once raised but i struggled with this error and the answer was absolutely buried in a direct message that was almost impossible to find.

For the future person who comes across this issue there were two problems i had that caused this.

  1. Plex running maintenance tasks - While these were running Plex was ignoring any API requests which meant the connection was timing out.

  2. Custom unraid docker networking - I had Kometa sitting behind my VPN networking and Plex was running on Host.
    This meant that while Kometa could see Plex, any message returned hit a timeout failure.

Hopefully this helps the next person who comes across this issue
