I read throguh previous posts in help and the #rebrand-guidance. I run docker. Do I need to install Kometa? I know it's a basic question but I did not see it listed. Would I go through the initial install step-by-step and then replace the Config file with my old file that has ben changed to list "default" intead of "pmm"? Or is there an upgrade command I should use?

How are you running it now? Docker, direct on the host, some NAS?
OK, based on some previous log it seems like you are running Docker.
All you have to do is:
Change the docker image in you docker config from meisnate12/plex-meta-manager:BRANCH to kometateam/kometa:BRANCH then recreate the container.
How you do that specifically will depend on how you are running docker.
You can rename some references in the config file, but you don't have to. Your existing config file will continue to work fine.
Thanks. I do run docker with windows. I just changed the docker image using the command docker pull kometateam/kometa. It downloaded and semed to be good but then I did a run command and I recieved a Config Error: config not found at //config. Was ther
Will have to see a log and your run command; it's almost certainly just a container mapping issue.
Was there an additional command I needed to use or should I manually move my config file?
Uh oh. A docker log?
I have no idea what command you've run.
My run command was: docker run --rm -it -v "C:\Users\vince\kometa\config:/config:rw" kometateam/kometa
What is in C:\Users\vince\kometa\config?
Completely empty
That's why you're getting an error that it can't find the config.
Either move your config files into that folder OR change that path in the command to the path where your files ARE located.
Great. I will try and report back. Thanks a lot.
Now that i have you, what could I have done better here?
Do you mean directions to upgrade for a complete nebie to docker like me?
No, this or any interaction. I feel like I've spent hours with you personally on things here in the discord, but on reddit you say that getting help is difficult here and frankly I'm a bit insulted.
So wondering what i could have possibly done differently.
In this specific case, if your existing cammand was:
docker run --rm -it -v "C:\Users\vince\plex-meta-manager\config:/config:rw" meisnate12:plex-meta-manager
and you'd changed only the image:
docker run --rm -it -v "C:\Users\vince\plex-meta-manager\config:/config:rw" kometateam:kometa
It most likely would have worked without that error
You are very helpful and I look forward to you responding. Others have jumped in at times and are not as patient and quite frankly seem to offer bad advice. They also don't seem to understand that sometimes a simple mistake has been looked at 32x and I still don't see it. I took 3 days trying to figure my issue out on upgrading, reading threads and documents before I posted. You have walked me through a lot. I do think the instructions could be better --- not in these interactions but in the upgrade procedures. What we just went through should be in the upgrade docs. Spell out that you need to upgrade the docker image. Spell out how to do it. It would save you time. I am referring to the upgrade setion. Anyway, I appreciate your help. Sorry if I have tried your patience, keep others from jumping all over me! thanks.
Well, everybody here is a volunteer, and is only trying to help. As with any public forum, there's the possibility that people will give incomplete answers or won't have the clearest way to express things. I'd suggest that you ask the simple question sooner rather than waiting three days and getting frustrated.
"Hey, how do I switch to Kometa" three days ago would have produced an immediate answer with no drama. Now you're frustrated and there's no way for anyone to know that going in.
I'm also probably salty after reading a few days of "These guys suck and their docs suck donkey balls" on reddit.
Don't be down. It is extremely complex and your knowledge of it is amazing. What is simple and following a set of ruls to you is counter-intuitive and suer difficult to comprehend for others. I wish there were more posts of configs. Today on reddit in the plex forum some folks posted photos of their overlays and then when asked posted the configs. That's really helpful. I wish there was more of that. By the way I had no frustration today. I like the challenge, and realy like when I figure it out without help.
