This may be more of a Plex issue.....

I have a library using the XMBC agent - Old
I recently migrated it to a new library using the plex agent, simply by setting up the library in plex along side of the old one.

Plex in its infinite wisdom, has renamed several movies (some movies have more than one name depending on where it was released). I have a few questions:

  1. Do I need to go and rename my movie folders to math the names of the movies in Plex (new library)?
  2. If they don't match, will that mess up PMM?
  3. If I have movies with 'editions', plex standard is to name then:
    /mnt/folder/library/moviename (1999) {edition-Director's Cut}
  4. WIll doing this mess up PMM

Its weird that plex renamed the movies usually thats more of like a radarr thing

  1. it shouldnt matter but i like mine matching
  2. it will not pmm dont care
  3. are you saying plex is naming them this or how they read them?

and thanks all... this was helpfulll... will prob rename in the future. but I dont need to worry about it.

i could be wrong but i didnt think plex renamed your media

Nah... plex does not rename.. I know that.

I have movies that I set up with Tiny Media Manager..... it creates the folders. Mostly based on TMDB and IMDB.

I have been using the XMBC agent for years, and it has worked fine.

What I ran into with the plex agent... for example

#

"2 Days in Paris" (folder named "2 Days in Paris (2007)", is not name "Two Days in Paris"

Folder is still "2 Days in Paris (2007)"

  • so I was concerned if Plex or PMM would barf... Am pretty sure Plex will be OK

  • Funny thing is the movie are says '2 days in paris'
