Looks like collectionless doesn't seem to be working as intended, as you can see from the image Iron Man is showing the Movies and the collection.

Hopefully my logs will shed some light on this issue.

Thank you in advance for the support ❤️

I really suck with Collectionless so I'll leave this to someone else 😄

viscid hull
#

What collections is "Iron Man" in?

hot ore
#

I'm going to assume Iron Man Collection

near lance
#

Yes. Plus the MCU collection.

near lance
viscid hull
#

Are either of those two collections set to "show items"?

#

Warning, I don't use collectionless and don't really understand the point.

near lance
#

Then how are you handling MCU and let's say Iron man collection?
collectionless: hide_items
MCU: hide
library default: hide_items (along with all other not auto generated collections)

#

should MCU be hide_items?

viscid hull
#

I just leave movies in the library view and collections in the collection view.

hot ore
#

^this 😄

#

and yes I believe everything should be hide_items for Collectionless to work?

viscid hull
#

Anything set to show will result in showing the items.

hot ore
#

"To combat the problem above you set all collections to Hide items in this collection then create a collection set to Hide collection and put every movie that you still want to display in that collection."

viscid hull
#

Are the other things in the MCU collection hidden?

near lance
#

Yeah, i think that was it 😐

hot ore
#

Collectionless being the "create a collection"

near lance
#

But what I was trying to prevent was MCU showing up in the library view 😐

#

Looks like a limitation...

viscid hull
#

MCU should be hide collection, not hide items.

near lance
#

Okay with MCU set to Hide the items show up, with it set to hide_items it doesn't

viscid hull
#

Also collectionless should not be hide_items by my reading.

viscid hull
#

since that will hide everything in that collection, which is presumably everything that isn't in any other collection.

hot ore
#

collectionless should be Hide collection

near lance
#

Okay so let me get this right
MCU should be hide
normal collections should be hide_items
collectionless should be hide

correct?

hot ore
#

MCU should be hide_items based on what the wiki says

#

Collectionless should control what is visible and what is not

#

Everything else is set to hide_items so that Collectionless is the single item defining what gets shown

near lance
#

Okay with MCU set to hide_items it does work. I was just trying to prevent MCU from showing up as a collection w/in the library (only visable in the collection view).. Looks like I'll have to take off the prefix to have all the Universes collections from showing up at the top.

#

If that is truly the case (due to a Plex limitation), how would I go about removing the !040_ from the sort prefix?
sort_title:<<title>> is what I'm thinking?

#

ugh, plex being dumb. I liked having them sorted to the top in the collection view 😐

viscid hull
#

Now you see why I just leave all the collections in the collection view. 😉

near lance
#

So you simply just have all your movies out for the world to see w/o showing collections in the library view? 🤔

hot ore
#

yes

#

the magic of the "Collections" button

#

😄

near lance
#

I guess that's the way I'm gonna go 🙂

hot ore
#

I have one of my collections pinned to the homepage each day of the week

#

so that I can "feature" a new collection each day

near lance
#

How is that accomplished?

#

I like that idea.

viscid hull
#

Yes. They're movies. If anyone wants to complain that they have to scroll past 10 harry potter movies on their way to something in the Is I'm really actually pretty sorry about that.

hot ore
near lance
#

I like that.

#

is this on the wiki as well?

solemn solstice
#

So it’s stupid but if you set a collection to hide it has the show items flag

hot ore
#

There's nothing unique in that YAML file

solemn solstice
#

The only way to hide items is to set it to hide items

hot ore
hot ore
near lance
#

You slap that into a collections file and just add it to your collections_file section?

hot ore
#

and in the library settings

near lance
#

Word...

solemn solstice
hot ore
#

I reorganize it in the Libraries section so that each collection appears on top of the other collections

near lance
#

lmao!

hot ore
near lance
#

Okay so I set all my library items to hide and i'm gonna fire this off too

#

Thanks for the help and the direction
