Hi, I'm having an issue with overlays but specifically only series posters. I have movies and episodes overlays with resolution working fine. With the series posters I am only using the airing/returning/ended/cancelled overlays and when running pmm the overlays appear as intended. However after a short amount of time, the overlays for returning/ended/cancelled disappear, but the airing ones don't. I'm also using custom posters in the assets folder which it is appying, initially with the overlay, then without. Any ideas? Thanks

Welcome @torpid crane!
It looks like you have not yet completed #938455615741775902, this will allow us to help you quicker.

Including the meta.log from the beginning is a huge help, type !logs for more information.

reapply_overlays: true
reapply_overlays will force PMM to reapply all overlays on each run, even if there is no need to - this will very quickly cause image bloat as a new set of images is created on each run
and in Series you have remove_overlays: true
as well as reapply_overlays: true
I'm not sure how PMM is going to react to both of those things being true
@torpid crane
I usually have remove overlays false, set it to true for this run to remove them and try to reset them
also I see you are using delete_unmanaged_collections, that is an old attribute which is no longer used.
https://metamanager.wiki/en/latest/config/operations.html#delete-collections
ok, I can remove that
you have it set to false anyway so not a big deal
We would need to see some logs of the run that causes the issue
I am running right now with remove_overlays: false and reapply_overlays: true
Once this run is finished I will add the logs here
can you delete the attachment in your original message @torpid crane
it has your omdb API key in it

we are actually working on an auto-redactor that will pick up on things like that and fix it immediately
one of our team has spent the past couple days working on it

thanks
That's really cool
The odd bit is this, the overlay exists, that poster is only added by pmm, the poster with the overlay is selected after completion, then after some time a poster without the overlay shows up to take it's place
here are the logs

Cheers
both still have remove overlays set to true
Movies does not have that set
YAML attachment checked and is valid.

that looks fine
As mentioned above there is rarely a reason to have reapply_overlays enabled, particularly as a routine thing.
It won't cause PMM problems, buit it will upload lots of identical images to Plex, bloating the metadata.
[and the system hosting the files]
I have set reapply to false now, so if everything does work (history has proven otherwise) it won't reapply
Only the airing ones got an overlay applied

Any ideas?
It's still running.
Or it aborted early. That log ends before overlays are processed.

I had the logs open using docker logs pmm -f and the process completed
Doesn't this mean it completed?

Any ideas?
Sure. Thatβs a complete run but the previous log is not complete.
When processing any but 'airing', everything in the library is failing with a filter error, so nothing qualifies for those overlays.
You might try deleting the cache file as a first step.

Ah, I see you have this turned on:
| --cache-libraries (PMM_CACHE_LIBRARIES): True |
Try turning that off.
deleted logs, overlays folder, UUID and config.cache and running again
understood
wait, do you mean this?
oh wait, nvm
No, that's different.
I also note that you are running the linuxserver image, which has in the past displayed idiosyncratic behavior.
ok, running without the cache libraries variable and with the official image rather than the linuxserver image
