Hey đź‘‹
Jumping right in - I've got this python script that I'm building. I've got a massive library and not all files are being sorted into the correct libraries. For instance I've got G & PG movies in the directory for Adults (PG-13 - Mature) and would like to move them to the Kids Movies (G - PG) directory using this script. Would this script work with my existing PMM config yaml?

Welcome @brittle kestrel!

Someone from <@&938443185347244033> will assist when they're available.

Including the meta.log from the beginning is a huge help, type !logs for more information.

This would be especially helpful for my Radarr Lists.

Pmm doesn’t care where your media is located at

Please use code blocks when sending any code-related text (such as error messages or configuration file extracts.)

The Grave Accent key (`) is used to define code blocks and is typically found to the left of the number 1 key on a standard keyboard.

If you are posting any yaml-formatted text (such as collections), you can add yaml to your Grave Accent keys for coloured formatting. See the below sample text and output

YOU TYPE THIS

```yaml
collections:
  Documentaries:
    smart_filter:
      all:
        genre: Documentary
```

DISCORD DISPLAYS

      all:
        genre: Documentary

It just matters that it’s in plex

So this would be a separate script running that would just TMDB on it's own? Hmm.

pallid salmon
#

I mean yea pmm just interacts with the plexapi it doesn’t need to know or have any access to your file system

Yeah pmm doesn’t give a shit what it’s path is. It just knows what’s in Plex

Sad.

#

Okay. Thanks all.

I don't understand what's "sad" here?

You might be able to use PMM to IDENTIFY the movies that are in the incorrect directory if that's what you're struggling with?

Yeah, I’m not sure how you want it to work “with your existing PMM config yaml”. What is the problem you’re trying to solve?

Like the real problem…. With little context we cannot offer much.

And I am on my phone so pretty much impossible to see that screenshot with text in it

brittle kestrel
#

Problem: G rated and PG rated movies are in "Adult_Movies" folder.
Solution: Automation using PMM or similiar that will automatically move these files from "Adult_Movies" to "Kids_Movies"

#

@pale roost perfecto.

#

I'm working on using Radarr API as we speak. Will update IF need be.

#

OK... so as I think we said... PMM cannot move files at teh filesystem level.

#

people here use things like radarr, sonarr, filbot along with TRaSH naming convention to automate 99% of all this

stable mirageBOT
#

When using third-party services such as Sonarr or Radarr to manage media, we recommend following the TRaSH Guides Recommended Naming Scheme guide to ensure compatibility when using the PMM Default Overlay files.

Without using these naming schemes, we cannot guarantee that the default PMM overlays will work with your library.

Further information can be found on the TRaSH Guides website:

Yeah I spoke with the Starr guys. I then came here.
I'm fully aware of how to be an "as I said" guy. But thanks to @pale roost for giving a straight helpful answer.
