I'm aware they're movies. BUT, what I'm more asking is... Why?
It can't use them can it?
becuase the lists has both movies and tvshows in it and you have add_missing*arr in your config. But it actually can be added to a tv library
Even if I download those files... PMM won't use them, because the Plex Anime library can't right? So... Is there some way I can get a library marked as a TV library, to not add things to radarr?
So, there's an issue there.
not really
not all anime shows map the movies as specials
@humble seal would probably be better for this honestly. I dont think he can specify to send it here or there though
well yea because its probably listed under radarr and under sonarr
so it technically is "missing"
me persoanlly I just have a anime tvshow library and an anime movie library
that prevents this exact "issue"
How does this prevent the underlying issue though?
If you have an Anime TV library, and it pulls from the list above, it will send those files to radarr for you to grab, but it's not going to use them in a list. In the "larger picture" of it building that collection, that's erroneous files that it can't use.
I get that they're movie files, and I totally get sending a movie file to radarr, but I'm wondering why a TV library would send them over to radarr, when, even if radar tells it "Hey, I have those files" PMM is going to just go "Ok." and not actually do anything with them 😄
it fixes it because if the movie files are in radarr and in a movie library then they wont show as missing to pmm.
regardless I think this is more for sohjiro as he can explain if he can actually fix it inside of pmm
I appreciate the input fawkes, I do, sorry if my tone comes off wrong 🙂 I'm more, curious, than frustrated 🙂
I know that it can't map the specials properly if they're hidden away inside a show, and also it's beholden to things like TVDB and whatnot when it comes to ID'ing something, it just felt weird to me that it's just grabbing a file that A) I might already have, and B) regardless of having it or not, PMM isn't going to use it 😄
no worries. I get it. Me personally, I like having everything inside of sonarr all pretty and every season "green" where all episodes are mapped including specials. It bothers me that I have to have some things in radarr because even if i did want certain anime movies under specials, I cant because they arent mapped under specials in sonarr
Because I have most of those movies, I just have them as specials, so they're easier to find and keep together, I don't mind it ignoring those files, I'd just rather PMM didn't send "TV stuff" to radarr 😄
Sohjiro might be able to block radarr sending stuff from a tv library but then you run into an issue where people like me have it on radarr and now those wont get sent. I honestly dont even know if he can detect missing specials to send them to sonarr
Totally the same, shows missing episodes annoy me, and there's no easy way for me to tie an anime movie over in Movies, to a show in TV (Outside of the messy way of, a collection with the same name, which bloats things massively with how many collections I'd need)
That last bit sounds way way too complicated unless you're doing something like, matching file name, but that sounds like a Pandoras box situation.
I'd be ok with a variable I can set to turn off/on sending tv stuff to radarr or something, I mean I totally get that it's handy for some, as an example, I have a lot of special seasons unmonitored so I don't notice new movies... But like I said, it was just a little funny/weird to me that it's asking me to get a file, but it's not going to use it once it has it :D. Like a recipe telling me to get ingredients but then not using them.
I'm so used to radarr being movies and sonarr being tv, that I totally didn't even think of telling something TV related, that radarr missing should be false.
no worries. I forget when it comes to PMM sometimes too. Its a beast and has tons of features
Hey look at that, you didn't need Sohjiro after all, you fixed my stupid all by yourself 😄
Tbh this whole situation would be fixed if Plex figured out a way to "link" TV and Movies, like it already has sortof with collections. It always feels like Anime is just the red-headed stepchild of Plex as well.
I agree and HAMA is just too buggy/slow when scanning to use
I think I tried HAMA once way back, and bad things happened so I didn't use it again.
I would use it if it would actually match correctly. Even manually matching by tvdb id or anidb id fails alot and running a scan takes forever
and the dev is little help
I remember being blown away when I used to use Kodi, and then swapped to Plex and it didn't "interweave" specials in to Seasons when they aired.
kodi was the shit. I loved kodi. all the different themes and custom builds and plugins
That seemed so simple and Plex just didn't have it... And then I saw how it handled Anime.
I wish plex would bring back theming
If I was running just a local thing for me, I'd be using Kodi and Kodi alone. That thing is beautiful at times.
Plex Themes ❤️
Thanks again for solving the "problem" Fawkes, I'll let you get back to your day.
no worries. have a good day
