Or 3d depends on how u look at it
Finally
Why pathfinder though? Am I missing something
Floating Fabricator would fit best lol
WOOOO ty <3
its a really nice model
It’s not as bad as most critics say
But it’s certainly a downgrade from early concept
Still looks good enough though
yeah
well il never really own one i think, only if its opend to some modularity maybe
If u ever need a base or something from pioneer
We’ll do that for fair price probably
sounds good
wish there was still a way to get LTI on the pioneer without spending double its price
The more I look at it, the more I like it, but it was definitely a shock when I first saw it
There is no LTI on the ship?
Also no concierge restriction I hope
Because I know the kraken, idris, javelin and 890J require you to have concierge to even buy the ships.
I've tested this last IAE
but I don't remember Pioneer having it
IAE usually gives 10 years - the original concept for pioneer had LTI and land claims attached to it from what ive seen of the options to buy an LTI one from various places but they are very expensive
it IS hull limited iirc which means no CCU's and thus no ability to chain it into LTI final unit
only a one time purchase of 850 and wotever insurance it gets offered with
Imagene if CIG marketing decides to un-limit Pioneer
What we thinking will be in the front of the ship?
Its got a LOT of empty space
Also, will anything move on the ship?
Like in the original concept, the left arm went all the way out and unfolded, same went for the roof
Price bump to 1k so it can have LTI
Pioneer Pioneers
so how hard will it be to get Pioneer this year?
https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/1/thread/cnou-pioneer-update/7455293
As highlighted in our recent CitizenCon 2954 presentation, the Pioneer features impressive capabilities, including its crafting hangar and the ability to build both planetside and in space, far exceeding its original design. With this in mind, we want to give you a heads-up: the price of the Pioneer will be adjusted during CNOU Day at this year's IAE, increasing by $75.
Additionally, we’ve made some changes to the Pioneer package. The UEE Land Claim License Estate Parcel (8km x 8km) and the GreyCat Estate Geotack-X Planetary Beacon will no longer be included in future pledges.
still will sell out in seconds
cannot belive it i found guy selling Pioneer on my local market for used stuff and got it for 1000USD
2 questions: what are these outpost construction materials and why do you think CIG pulled land claim becons?
Because they're going to sell land claims again, likely for even more despite them already being $50 / $100 (4x4, 8x8) and limited to 10 per account
For outpost construction materials, I doubt even CIG knows
My theory is they will simply give materials(aluminium, wood, iron) but need to be careful with amount if original pioneer owner can build base at start with minimal cost Spectrum and new Pioneer owners will riot
Shit I’m just happy to finally have a mobile base. Gonna be zoopin around sucking up resources and printing shit like a war hammer fan with a 3D printer
Welcome to the club
Did CIG removed land claim from new Pioneers becouse they want 4x4km/ 8x8km land claims to be earned ingame and rare?
No, it's because they'll sell them again at a higher price and make them earned ingame but expensive/rare
Oh ok hopping i can sell mine ingame to an org
Do you think dimmensions are final or will CIG make Pioneer bigger in its development phase?
noticed that Pioneer lacks docking collar?
It's like the Orion, it can't dock
so park it near station and use small ship/snub to enter station
Potentially drydock too, like how Javelins currently dock at stations
The Orion cant dock?
As far as I'm aware, at least. I haven't seen otherwise, but that ship has also not been updated in many many years. It could get a docking collar at some point.
Would make sense though. It's nearly as large as a Javelin.
safety reasons so it does nor accidentaly move station when engines are turned on
anyways i notice CIG did not show refinery and medical room on new interior layout so i hope Pioneer does not grow when its in active development
I can't believe they sorta added mining to the pioneer
Yeah but im more intrested how will CIG balance this compared to mining base since Pioneer can despawn while base cannot
i find that Pioneer will be great mobile ground deposit miner based on latest info we got from SCL and probably could ˝clean˝ abandoned outposts/bases
anyways i have been thinking Pioneer can carry 2 small ships since it has 1 small hangar+1 makeshift small hangar
Which 2 ships would be your pick?
depends on how will scanning for ground deposits work, but terrapin would be good scout for landing spot/ground deposits and second ship would simply be a shuttle for small tasks for witch Pioneer would be to massive so Nomad would be great option
Did you saw todays SCL we got few new pics of Pioneers cargo hold and fabricator area?
Also if you compare this pics with citizencon video you notice changes how this area is designed
This was an amazing SCL, having the ship concept artists share their Polaris work was completely unexpected!
Anyways hopping for more pics/video of Pioneers state at EOY
Odd on concept pic showing cargobay on wall its writen capacity 700 is it mistake or CIG went back from 1000 to 700?
All 1000 might not be in the same spot. The other 300 could be elsewhere. Or like is often the case with CIG, once they actually started designing the ship, they realized they couldn’t fit the 1000scu where they wanted to and did walk it back. We won’t know for a while.
The concept designer mentioned that this is a all placeholder text.
Paraphrased:
"Any values that i needed place holder text for was just me mashing my keyboard"
@wet robin @bright canyon thanks, anyways now with changes latest concept pics showed im even more intrested how will Pioneer look
yeah but if you look at character next to cargo grid im not that sure it can have 1000SCU there

why are you bringing whats writen on walls again? i said i cannot see 1000 SCU fitting there if we use character as measurement
To explain just like the text on walls, its all CONCEPT PLACEHOLDERs
From Aprils monthly report:
The Consolidated Outland Pioneer continued through the pre-production and whitebox phases. The modular kits were solidified alongside some structural changes to improve the flow and movement through the ship. The team also continued to define the core visual elements to inject the Consolidated Outland art style.
Basicaly id say interior video CIG showed is now outdated
So sad. But also exciting.
well concept pics they showed already showed changes, but that does not mean we lost features just stuff is rearanged
I hope CIG didnt make it even bigger tho
How come? I hope they use more of the internal space. It seems the entire front section isn't used but I'd imagine that has some reason probably for like fabricating structures I'd imagine.
It is a fabrication room, yes. The Printers Tray if you will.
Oh, I thought it opening like this was out of date.
So it will still open and kind of deploy these printers, so to speak?
It is. But I dunno what it was changed to so… that’s all I got.
I think so, yes.
Would be really cool to see that.
no it has 4 XL drones now and also arm doesnt move anyomore

Oh yeah I remember now, I’ve watched this video.
i was saying that interior layout shown is outdated now
Ah gotcha.
#1303042776878813255 message here are concept pics we were shown after Citizencon and you notice fabricators are rotated 90deg and are now one floor lower than they were in Citizencon video
@distant dagger
thanks i already read it
Sucks that’s the Pioneer isn’t coming this year.
that was known already, but im stil hopping for ISC or video showcasing its progress and design
That would be nice.
Still hoping for base building this year/early next year. What’s your thoughts?
possible but probably very limited at start
Yeah, that’s likely

The Consolidated Outland Pioneer continued its long and extensive whitebox phase.
“The sheer scale and complexity of this ship mean this is a longer-than-normal phase!” Vehicle Content Team.
I hope CIG did not make it even bigger
why would it really matter?
Its huge already no need to get bigger
yeah but its already huge, what difference would it getting a little bigger if it need to be make
like if it needs to be 270m instead of 247m I'm not really gonna notice, and if thats what it takes to fit everything it needs to, all the better.
Well it might have hard time landing in XL hangar
That is potentially true I suppose. But they're gonna have to make bigger hangars eventually. There are bigger ships than the pioneer.
Well Orion and javelin are docking only
And i dont know how would i feel if Pioneer can be only spawned at docking port
Well UK team its working on it and they have tendecy to size creep ships so
Plus based on all info we have Citizencon images and video are outdated already
Surprised we didn't get an update on the pioneers progress this month. I really do wonder how long its whitebox phase will be.
Maybe the pioneer is the next merchantman
probably gonna enter GB at EOY
well if we assume hangar link has correct Pioneers landing pad size it means we can store cutty black in Pioneer
Does that hangar lower and is it the same one used to fabricate vehicles?
As far as we understand it yes it’s the one that fabricates vehicles.
Yes it lowers but not fabricator one that one ia next to it
its not
this is how it was shown at Citizencon however did CIG changed stuff while Pioneer is in WB we dont know
Oh weird
fabricator has its own roof access for ship and ramp for ground vehicle it builds
Do we know what they’re gonna utilize the nose area of the ship for. Right now it seems like a ton of wasted space.
nothing official but it could be used for refinery and fuel tanks
also as already said this interior is outdated already
Wow.
Really excited for the next update they give us on it. May not be for a few more months though with how long the current phase they’re in is.
earliest possible time for update is Citizencon
Also by this, what type of refinery? Fuel or Ore?
That would be crazy if the pioneer got an ore refinery and the Orion didn’t.
refinery for ORE since it has ore extractors in its landing legs for grounds deposits
I would doubt CIG would make this ship that self-sustaining honestly. I can see the ore extractors for the legs getting replaced and at most getting replaced by some large mining lasers.
Because if it really does have ore extractors, refining, crafting, building, all in one ship that would be crazy imo.
yeah here is the isssue JC called Pioneer fully self sustaining mobile base
Lol then we're gonna be spoiled.

...
but im not entirely sure CIG is grasping what they said
I guess its really not comparable to the military type capital ships that are out now or the 890. We have yet to see how these capital ships with dedications to game loops other than combat. That gives me hope for ships like the Orion and what not to really make that ship into a more self-sustaining base too.
What do you mean?
calling Pioneer self sustaining mobile base can easily make people belive it can make its own fuel and food thus no need to visit ports/request delivery of food and fuel
Exactly.
for fuel Hydrogen is easy just say it has fuel scoops good enough to be like 100i not running out of it, but what about quantanium fuel?
food would require garden inside
Right like that would make ships like the starfarer redundant. You would think these capital ships need support crews with them in those support type roles ships like the Vulcan for repair or Starfarer for refueling.
Pioneer would need repair ships even if its self sustaining but fuel no need
That also makes me think that if this ship will be "self sustaining" the price is gonna go way up on it by release.
i think Pioneer can turn to be sleeper ship like atm not that intresting but at reveal it could be way more important and intresting
I think even right now its super interesting and I'm still surprised people don't realize the possibilities this ship allows you to unlock.
Space stations, crafting ships, crafting bases for use.
Orion is supposed to have onboard ore refining
also i belive alot of backers gonna hire Pioneer to craft that Large construction hub for players
The onboard refinery was removed from the RSI page. But, could still be a possibility.
💀
Right, thats the entire purpose of my org lol.
i more like idea of mobile base for pioneer
Also just using it as a giant crafting base for anything you want. As long as you have it, you have access to craft anything in the game.
it can be a mobile base if it wants to be, but I bought a construction ship
so it better be a construction ship lol
it is also a factory
It will be regardless, it always will be. But its got a whole bunch of other little perks coming with it.
I honestly think the price will surpass that of the Idris when it releases.
depends i only see this if it gets even more features
yeah military ships have a big tax
it will surpass the polaris, but I doubt it'll pass the idris
id say it actualy got a new role rather than other perks
In your picture it does say it has medical, crafting, extraction, and refineries. Just so much packed into this ship.
Thats true actually, forgot military gets a price bump.
A new role? As in mobile base?
yes, originaly it was just a mobile basebuilder now its basebuilder/mobile base/station builder
could add also mobile small shipyard
Soon
True.
i got a feeling alot of pioneers gonna be mostly used as mobile base
also there is a chance Pioneer could also be able to demolish abandoned bases
That would be cool.
What do you think guys will Pioneer get PDCs?
No
Probably not.
No, it was never originally shipped with them and its not a military ship.

Also am I the only one who thinks this ship will get an insane price increase?
Considering the recent additions and subtractions, a substantial price increase is unlikely unless new features are implemented by CIG during development.
The jump from $850 to what it is now is the substantial price jump, but it will also certainly get another smaller one when it releases
True. I’m thinking to similar price increase that the Idris got. This sole ship gives you access to the end game. imo I think it should be more than the Idris.
But Idris is that price because of the military price tag so it makes sense.
Yeah money wise it earns that premium
But I think in game, long term. Idris will probably cost less credits relative to a pioneer but have a much steeper rep grind to get access to military stuff
That will probably be the trade off long term
Yeah pioneer will cost more ingame becouse of its capital basebuilder
Anyone else concerned about no updates on the pioneer over the past 4-5 months. ;-;
Yep its either nothing to say or paused
I pray they don't BMM us.
thinking of buying one lol
any idea what happens if you dont have a land claim?
Ive heard there will be other ways to expand claims etc, but from what ive heard they seem pretty important, any clue about the construction materials either?
Land claim is only needed if you want to build a base or mine deposits in a UEE-controlled system.
im going to assume you can do so but just illegially, or will it be downright impossible?
That was not explained. CIG could hard lock no building at all or crimestat and police visit
Sounds reasonable to be fair, i dont think i would be building in stanton though. Fingers crossed we will be able to get the land claims in game
I just hope getting a claim isn't hard since one didn't come with my pledge.
Same here, since they arent selling the claims for future pledges either
They will probably sell them again tbh, they're already holding back some finished ships/vehicles that are base building focused
As far as we know it will be possible to earn land claims in game as well. But could not be on release of the pioneer but we just won’t know more until they release more.
its not about how hard is to get one i think biggest issue will be cost
Don’t need land claim when you can use the pioneer to build a space station. Unless they gonna add space claim
They will i belive Space stations gonna be more limited and more expensive than ground base
signifcantly so
And besides Pioneer is small mobile base with 1000SCU cargo capacity so you could use it as mining base so expensive land claim wont be needed most of the time
If it gets refineries which honestly I’m starting to doubt.
If refineries were added to this ship, it really would be fully self-sustaining but I think they meant fully self sustaining for a player since it has crafting, building, medical, cargo, etc everything a player will ever need if it’s parked in one spot.
I honestly think that we will not see the mineral extractors in the landing gear like they said we would. It seems like a feature that is so far away and with them removing drones from the Apollo entirely, I wouldn’t put it past them to just remove an entire feature from the Pioneer as well.
where did they say they're removing the drones from the Apollo? I thought it just got shipped without them, but would still get drones later?
They never said they’re removing it but it’s officially post-poned although likely we will never see them.
Ah, okay fair enough.
if i understood correctly those extractors will come when we get ground deposits
Is that a before 1.0 thing to come with the mining refactor?
Pretty sure it comes with planet tech v5, which is soon-ish
Isnt current Microtech planet tech v5?
Lemme check
No we currently have v4
on all planets

I wonder if it’s only gonna be base building for now or are we also gonna get to build space stations when the pioneer comes out
I highly doubt it
Lets be real we can only hope for basebuilding T0 at Pioneer release and no spacestations

I rather have only the space station and no base building
Nah, base building is the best part
I just want to put a space station anywhere and could probably use an SRV to move it somewhere else
I doubt you'll be able to move space stations
Probably not but it would be nice to be able to
@distant dagger You were right, pioneer will get an onboard refinery. https://youtu.be/mH0TSoC8d_k?t=1767

do we have any idea if it will be restriced in what it can refine like the odyssey?
ground deposits
surely if its supposed to be a self sustaining mobile base then it would be able to refine fuel ect
i doubt CIG comprehends what self sustaining means
true
becouse lets face if CIG knew they wouldnt say it or would risk making Pioneer to good
Exactly what I was thinking previously.
why does dev call this a refinery becouse it looks like Pioneers cargo bay?
But I feel like end game ships should be very good. The nerf the pioneer should have is space station being the hardest thing to make
It does look like a cargo bay. And yknow cig, a thousand different words for the same thing so idrk.
was a shame not to see one, i guess that means we either get it next year IAE or at somepoint in the next 12 months with a crafting/basbuilding update
well if leaks/rumors are to be belived basebuilding is on track and we will see new stuff at Citizencon so i dont see why pausing Pioneer so i think no updates becouse there is nothing to say or just saying Pioneer in WB wont meant much to us
Yeah I wouldn't be surprised to see an update on basebuilding at CitizenCon with this new Salvage overhaul stating its the foundation of Crafting. With crafting segway-ing into Base-Building we shall what they cook up.
I am having trouble understanding, are you saying there was recent information about upcoming news for the Pioneer at CitizenCon Direct?
No rumors says we gonna get update on basebuilding so it means basebuilding isnt delayed hence no reason to pause Pioneer
Well now since we are Post Cit-Con, what are our thoughts here? It’s nice to see crafting finally being realized which is one step in the process of getting the Pioneer out. I’m very happy to hear them talking about ship cargo grids feeding crafting machines and what not, lots of this seems to prep for the Pioneer which is nice.
Well leaks were false for start and second im more worried Pioneer is paused due to lack of any word on it
I’m thinking now it’s paused only because of the roadblock of Crafting and Basebuilding. I don’t think we’ll see it til then and it seems the resources got moved over to the Kraken.
Makes sense when they said that the Pioneer won’t come with Basebuilding and was doubting that for a second but seems they just wanted to get the first part done so they can implement the features down the road. Makes even more sense when they said that the Greybox phase will be one of the longest compared to any ship.
where did they said it will have longest GB?
man hoppium says Pioneer is still worked on but realist says its paused
Yeah. It’s defo paused for now. We got BMM’d.
BMM going back into production in 2026 >o>
Best of luck to you. This ship is literally a flying base.
- 4x XL Crafting Bays.
- 4x XL Building Drones
- x1 Medium Fabrication Hangar.
- Medical Facilities
- Onboard Refinery (Maybe)
- Passive Mining Capabilities
- 1000 SCU of storage
- The only ship in the game that allows you to access endgame content and access to making capital ships.
Pioneer is a sleeper pick I feel. Literally one of the best ships out there.
I thought it wasn’t gonna be too many since it’s not as sought after as like an Idris but the 890 sold out pretty quick and that ship is poo poo. So to answer your question, probably a good amount.
hmm
at least a better chance than idris
considering the timing of the sales, i'm gonna guess more people are gonna save and try for idris
unless they got enough money to get pioneer and idris at same time
True. I think if scalper bots are plaguing these waves like they did during ILW, you’ll have a good chance.
ye
To ad current pioneer will be less popular becouse it lacks landclaim
Dont say that please, ur crushing my hopes.
I’m glad I got mine with the land claim before they announced they were actually gonna work on it 🤣
Well we do not know how landclaims will really work, but i suspect price for 8x8 claim gonna be to high for CIG being comfortable to give it with pioneer
Anyways considering how fast CIG is going with tech im not sure they can afford pausing pioneer
I wish I got mine one with the land claim.
Wdym?
I'm sure they can. They will probably say that Mining and what not needs a rework and rework that over this year adding the Arrastra in and early crafting.
Then late 2026 we'll probably get our first taste on seeing the Pioneer again.
it be like that
Bro your hangar multiplies every IAE and ILW I swear. 😭
Well JC said it at reconcept reweal that Pioneers mining isnt coming with pioneer on day 1
Oh, I didn't hear that. Still, I've been thinking about it and rewatching all the videos about it post-reconcept. There is a lot of new features they have to add into this ship. It will be one of the only capital ships with the most new features on it, only second to the Endeavor. Refining, Crafting, Ship Fabrication, Drone Tech, is all needed on this ship and we have only heard progress on one of those recently. It would be amazing if they could just finish up the Pioneer and release it with T1 or T2 Crafting in the future without all of its features but it all seems very far out. I'm thinking the best scenario I can realistically see right now is that they will finish work on the Kraken and release it by IAE 2026 and then continue production of the Pioneer the following year in 2027 when all the features are more realized.
Unless they release Squadron early next year and then the teams working on Features get more help, then we'll just have to see how fast things pick up.
Well realisticaly there arent any word on Pioneer being paused so we could get some great update on its progress soonish
apparently
i won't have enough store credit to get pioneer this time
welp
time to wait for ILW
Take out a loan. 200% worth it
ILW is military ships
Yes, put yourself $925 in-debt for a png.
It isn’t on sale during Invictus. Only IAE.
And whenever it releases if that’s outside of IAE
Oh
I did manage to snag mine in a random sale they had towards the start of the year. Seems like it was for the launch of the Atls but it does happen outside of IAE. #sc-news message
hmmmm
i got enough store credit lmao
gonna try for it again
had to melt some extra stuff
gonna buy them back at end of iae
Good luck broski.
good luck. perhaps you will get lucky this time
Good luck to all the Wave 1 peeps!
I VOTED
i know its long shot but no bad to try
Up for a long time? Sold out at 11:01.
I managed to refresh multiple times while it was up. Credit was up for a while all things considered. Usually you only have the chance to refresh once.
Kinda tempted to melt the Pioneer I have now to get one now. The one I have is only 6 months insurance.
is it with land claims?
No, sadly.
It was a couple months after IAE that they set another sale for it and that’s when I got it.
then you can try for 10y one and if it does not work you buyback 6mo one
Yeah, I got a buyback token still just in case.
Well they updated the Raiden loaner.
When will the Pioneer Loaner be upgraded?
I think it atleast deserves a C2 as well for the time being. Maybe an Ironclad when the Ironclad drops.
thats tricky, becouse there is no ship that matches its role and only ship it can get as loaner is Nomad
I’d imagine it as a flying base. Covers all roles in the game. Only thing I can think of that’s close to that is the Carrack or the Clipper.
And they have yet to release one of the silhouettes, the one people said was gonna be the CNOU ship possibly. Maybe it will get that? Idk.
I was successful in securing a pioneer first wave
the one that look like a ground vehicle?
what are the chance we'll get pioneer at ILW
or ironclad
Pioneer 0%, ironclad 80%
i'm getting a vibe that pioneer release might be entirely random
iirc galaxy is for next IAE
dunno if they'll put out two large ship together
Nah Pioneer is big capital so CIG will make bigger deal out of it
Iron clad will be defense con next year pretty much confirmed
Considering they said next year they will be back bigger and better than ever, so either ironclad for defense con or the kraken but I’d see the kraken eoy next year
in that case
galaxy when?
or pioneer a year after that?
also i doubt they can get the kraken out that fast
Galaxy was said to be after Perseus but that was ages ago they said that and it hasn’t been mentioned since, but if I remember they moved Perseus devs to the kraken
Pioneer was not going to come with base building right? Do we expect them to give us a base build loaner?
Only thing i remember CIG said it wont come with ground mining
They have been working on it for a year though now right?
I think we will get base building middle to eoy 2026 with Nyx 1
Well they started soon after reconcept reveal at Citizencon. But we dont know if its still worked on or paused
Citizen con video and imagey are outdated as shown by interior concept images
Art and modelling are big differences though, they did say with reconcepting that we will see a bigger interior to fill empty space
well
i just hope it get released next year
would make up for the large capital slot in my fleet
Personaly liking concept art colors better
First interior showcase used black and orange
Literally 0
Yeah plus the addition of a lot of onboard facilities that weren’t shown in the last reconcept interior.
Unless Pioneer enters GB by EOY i dont see it at IAE 2026 either
It was said that Chris did see the interior art and liked it too so I would imagine what we saw in the concept team’s work last year for the refinery, crafting stations, and cargo bay.
Honestly I agree. So many new features need to be added to get this ship pushed to live. And by then, 1.0 will release.
Yeah refinery and medical bay was missing
IF miracle happens next weeks monthly report saying its entering GB there is chance
Crafting, onboard Refining, Drone Tech, Vehicle Fabrication, Base Building, and Mineral extraction via landing gear are all needed for this ship. All of which we have yet to see on any ship.
If that is so, I will literally eat 46 raw tomatoes.
Well clipper has crafting station. So its not blocker. Id rather have pioneer ingame without working stuff than it sitting on shelf
It doesn’t have extra large crafting stations though. But, still a step in the right direction.
I could honestly see the Pioneer coming after the Orion.
i doubt we're getting orion anytime soon
pioneer is active production and orion is on hold
You never know. With Nyx now in and mining needing a refactor, they might look at mining ships soon…

Wow, sold out a lot quicker this time.
i've giving up on trying to get any limited ship, lol. shit's plagued with people that use bots/scripts

I warbond all mine. How I got them
I gotten kraken and kraken privateer on first wave with warbond
i could if i wanted, but i have other expenses atm, fully reliant on storecredit for now
Try refreshing the page 1 minute before the actual drop. Usually how I do it
About just as fast as credit.
Thats insane
What you mean, you got 0.00001ms longer to get warbond
Lucky.
I had it all ready and got an error.
Now I’m trying it and it can’t authorize my transaction.
Well atleast I got a Pioneer, hopefully they release n insurance upgrade down the line.
woke up early by chance, seen warbond wasnt sold out., fuck it might aswell 🤣
Lol if you got the extra funds maybe it’s worth it. I did that with the Idris and immediately regretted it so play it safe and smart.
i mean if the need would pop up for $$ i could always refund it. in the end it's just an unreleased ship xd
yeehaw
ATTRIBUTED
how dare they still use the chad pioneer image for it though
after their downgrade remodel
Downgrade?
Welp, John Crewe just confirmed that there is no CNOU ship coming next year so that means the Pioneer will not release until atleast 2027.
You think the current decign looks better than concept design?
it looks really similar but masive changes were needed due to how basebuilding works plus we are getting more than we paid for
Didn’t they say the forge is coming?
Paused no gameplay
question considering Pioneer has ground deposit extractors now should it be profitable if Pionner is used for ground deposits mining?
would always be profitable but id say they have it mine extremely slow since it might just be automatic mining
i dont see how they could make it where you need to manually mine with the pioneer
No, I don't think it should be profitable in that I don't think you could run the pioneer as a mining ship.
I think it will, at least long term, be expensive to run, and what you can mine from a ground deposit would be better suited as building materials rather than sold. But who knows. I'm sure someone will make it work.
Well Pioneer is also mobile base now. Using ground mining for building materials is great assuming its there where are you building base
or you pick it up, and store it onboard for crafting/base building at a different location
I just don't see it being profitable as a mining ship.
its going to be more expensive to crew and operate, and less versatile at mining than something like the arrastra or even maybe the mole. I can't see it running anything other than a net loss if you use it purely for mining.
It should be IF you are mining valuable ore for example extracting aluminium should not be while extracting bexalite should be
Can Mole arrastra mine ground deposits?
Arrastra might be able to carry something that will be able to.
I assume they'll make an atlas sized ground deposit mining vehicle at some point. I doubt the pioneer will be the only ship that can do it.
even if you mined pure bexalite idk if it should be profitable, but I also doubt we'll see massive amounts of valuable ore in ground deposits
Tbh Arrastra could just aim mining laser down into ground deposit
Still Pioneer also has refinery so CIG defenitly sees Pioneer as miner since its mobile base
I agree, it'll mine
I just don't think it'll be a profitable miner, I think they expect you to use it for craft and build
but it's all conjecture until we have it in the verse to test, and then a couple balance passes
its most likely gonna very very slowly mine which if you afk and dont get attacked, you could make a profit overtime
privateer is suppose to bring passive income. i could see selling materials from what the pioneer mines and having it on the privateer to sell. which when we get NPCs flying around in 2065 to sell to, very easy passive income
i have wishful thinking Pioneer will get PDCs
It won’t, they said only military ships will get them going forwards
did they?
They did, at the time they added them to the reclaimer I believe, they said the reclaimer only got them because at the time it was a selling point of the ship and they had no plans to add them to non-military ships going forwards
BMM will also be getting 4 of them
I feel like all non military capital ships should get at least 1, maybe 2 PDCs on the stern of the ship since that where they are all mostly defenseless there
They aren’t armored like military ships so most likely they won’t be able to ignore S1 and S2 guns and will get bullied by all fighters
i think CIG either does not want to bother with giving all caps PDCs or wants non-military caps be pinata
They could give smaller caliber remote turrets that can eventually be ai bladed to be like PDCs. Like kraken has 1 dual S8, 4 dual S6 and 4 dual S5. Big ass guns that will have a hard time hitting any fighter. And pioneer only got 4 dual S4 on top for a massive ship that also supposed to be used as base defense
last time i check is 2xS5 and 4xS4 turrets
It changes all the time. I looked at the wiki for what it had. Wiki also says it’s suppose to get 6 S4 distortion guns that are pilot controlled
reconcepted Pioneer has 6 turrets on images
Hmm
to be honest 2 are hard to see but they are at bottom so Pioneer is not defensless if enemy is bellow it
At least all the turrets on the pioneer can be ai bladed
not really
I think non-military cap ships are suppose to be a pinata, in the sense their purpose is a fleet ship, with engineering it has killed solo capitals to an extent, but realistically a capital ship will not be alone whether is was a military cap or not, they are suppose to be a center for a fleet, so say you have a pioneer building a base, you would have a private contractor supporting you, or a fleet of your own protecting you while you do it
Profitable in the sense of what you could build with said minerals probably. I would imagine the extraction rate will be negligible compared to a mining head’s capabilities.
I doubt it. It was never mentioned to get PDCs and it’s not a military capital ship. There is always a possibility when it comes to CIG ig.
i think Ground extractors are more part of Pioneers mobile base part than its basebuilding part so IMO it should be profitable assuming you are not mining cheap ore
Definitely possible.
for example mining Aluminium should not be profitable while mining Gold,Laranite and better should be
Not sure what they’ll do to be honest. Really if they stick to the concept of it being a self sustaining mobile base then it should be able to pull a massive amount of resources which in-turn means it can pull a lot of profitable materials.
They could make it so that it’s physically incapable of mining that quality of mineral or could be those minerals won’t be extractable from ground deposits at all. It’s just a feature that’s so far out, it could really be anything they want it to be.
If you want my honest opinion, I think the entire feature will be scrapped and replaced with mining heads instead when they realize implementing such a feature will be a lot of work that can be bypassed by just swapping the feature out with something that already exists.
I think CIG doesnt want another Galaxy basebuilding module drama so id say ground extractors will stay
Id have to second that since they are adding them to the CNOU Forge that might be released in the first couple months of 2026
Forge will come with crafting and possibly be Pioneer loaner
Oh, didn't know that. It wasn't in the line up to be released this year though. They said no CNOU ships are planned to be released this year.
unlikely as far as we know CNOU Forge did not go past internal concept so my bet is it will enter active development when Crafting is PTU ready
Hopefully thats soon with Crafting going into Tech Preview within the next month or two.
Well technically it was supposed to go into Tech Preview in December but they haven’t said a peep about it.
Man i hope we get update/info on is Pioneer paused or still being worked on soon.
i dont think it is, the more likely scenario is they need assets for it and have started doing that which is why there have been no updates on it, but announcing the forge which will probably use some of those assets is a good indicator they are still working on it
