I am curious, has anyone from CIG even play any video game before? Like I started playing in 4.0 and the game up until these PTU for 4.5 was completely fine gameplay. But all these changes make no sense and just feels like they asked their grandmother on how they should make the changes
i guess we just wait for their write up on thursday to see how they justify these changes

You know you're taking a lot of ships like the arrow Gladius Titan basically all the light fighters except for maybe the wolf but even then the size fours aren't really doing much
Especially since the wolf is using gatling's or repeater so the penetration is nothing
Yesterday testing with self-aware, now granite we still have our hall reduction modifier and armor values could change. Sitting there for almost 3,500 bullets from an '84B
Four size fours, doing nothing to the Perseus
And you got to think you're not sitting in one spot, so getting those shots on the components are going to be tough angle matters as well
S*** even the Aries Inferno barely did much but it eventually got through
If you run the Perseus full ballistics, It has enough power pips to just keep cooling the system despite a power plant failure
It's really good and I don't think we give it enough credit
The ship basically negates a large amount of armament from a Corsair
And all these component health values could change while they're still testing engineering right before PU
And current outlook suggests that we will be far out of range of any danger while we pelt massive size 8 bullets into the hull of every ship
Only kinda sad we lost PDCs as a light fighter deterrent. Maybe they'll come back?

I had this math discussion on spectrum that caused me to go to bed 7am I wake up and he admitted he was wrong about his calculation he argued it was 4.5 but then he said he only calculated the length and it's 3.8 the size of a perseus but I really think perseus is at least 1/3rd the size of a polaris in volume it's 3.2x bigger than perseus

This is why I'm glad I'm basically strictly a PvP pirate when it comes to making actual auec. All of my group money comes from shooting down C2s/Reclaimers with the boys

Well when they did that in 4.0 we had 100 people in a party and it got abused as hell. Everyone was doing all different contracts and was making bank
i didnt play during 4.0, but i heard it was actually the one time where multicrewing was encouraged

We need like proper mmo mechanics multicrew contracts where you get assigned a role engineer pilot gunner and get paid for filling that role in the contract like queeing for a ffxiv instance
Like saying Hull C transport, pays 2 million, meant for two player because loading takes alot of time and alot of risk, you can technically do it solo, and get paid two millions but its significantlly easier if you do it with two players and there it gets split
other option is GTA percentages for heists LOL
If they limit people that can accept contracts they can do it so contracts like hunt the Polaris or that big mission coming to nyx etc have higher amounts of players that can accept the mission
They could still do that, for larger group missions

Read a post again about the Perseus HP, and that generally S5 ships are trash HP wise and even two capitals compared to Idris and Polaris and people justify it by saying "yeah brother hammerhead is also 1/10 of the health, and nobody cared there" yeah because its an way older ship and probably just simply never got its balance pass

In my fictional world Hull HP are Armor
Therefor I went with simple princip of - one size larger ship but industrial aka likely lightest armor is similar to the heaviest from the class beneath
and then obviously depending on their own size too
Simply went with Ranking
They only grab money
- Role - any combat variant or class has generally more armor than all other roles
- Size class
- actual size of that specific ship
Thats the ranking with what I decided who will get how much value
For example with the Connies: Dromeda has most Armor value, after dromeda the Phoenix and explorer/Industrial have the lowest and same armor value
Or on the Herkules: A2 Heavy armored bomber most armor, M2 military transport medium armor, C2 civilian cargo transport (aka industrial) lightest armor
Makes at least more sense than whatever they have going on, and I made that shard within 15 min

yea, a "hardness" rating for armour would help for hte balance levers. could give 890 a lot of low hardness armour. and Perseus less (Than it) of harder armour

not to be dramatic (well just a bit) I said: Perseus and engineering will be the defining make or break moment revealing whether CIG can deliver on making the game or not
they proved they can't get the most simple things right
Well we had enough faith in CIG that engineering/armor may fix the disbalance between fighters and larger ships, and fix the Perseus armor / HP values, meanwhile CIG crushed that faith and throwed it out of the window with a burning cigarette after it, while laughing in all the money they made at IAE
this just tells me its doomed the project is going to fail

ballistics will still damage components and hull through shields but wont chip away armor that much compared to lasers

If they bring it to live with a ttk like that - and larger ships not being able to defend themselfes (well- just like the past 13 years) no point in using anything else but a light fighter in any kind of combat
Weapon fire rate and ammo balance to bring them back to 4.4.0 levels. Slight reduction in armor health across all ships. Added health bar to show armor and critical part damage. Power generators can now be repaired to stop the core from going critical. Implement room visualizations on the engineering screen using render layer groups feature. Added status warnings for low power combined with other critical warnings. Further smoke visibility improvement polish.
