I don't see anyone flying a jav or Idris unless it's imperative that they do, like their entire territory is under threat by another org or something and they're bringing javs so you have to get out your own

it'll be too expensive and detrimental to lose

many situations will not call for something that overkill

That's what CIG themselves tried to tell us with the Flyssa example. Other than that, was stated multiple times that deploy capitals will be a huge risk for players/orgs because in case of losing them the cost will be very high and capitals are supposed to fall against a coordinated fleet so it's very unlikely (if not impossible) to see them alone around the 'verse. But that's true about most of the ships out there, fighters won't go alone because their weapons would be ineffective against bigger targets, a connie/corsair sided one will be a sitting duck for eclipses and other attack fighters, attack fighters will be deleted easily by fighters and so on. Capitals may be not scratched by many ships but for sure anybody not interested into fight them will simply zip away from them. In the end CIG wants us to fight for defending or attacking objectives in a coordinated way not risking ships and money for silly reasons and everybody will learn that as soon as we will get mm/armor and then consequence of death (so insurance payments and death of a spaceman).

Depends, is the crew of the Polaris competant enough to use it effectivly? shoot them big torps too early and they can be evaded in due time,,, shoot them too late,, and you risk em not tracking properly as they cant get up to speed fast enough, who knows,,, maybe youre just unlucky or lucky, tho, im not gonna go into a what ship is better than what ship, its merly a preferance,, a Polaris wasnt designed to dogfight a Fury nor a Mustang wasnt designed to take on a Javelin, i belive every ship is great, its just a matter of how you use it, and if you got escort/gunners/or even downto just where you are

That is not what i was on about,,, having more javlin,, sure you can call it out faster, but you still need to get the crew back, plot courses, travel so on so forth

Beside,, lets say you got 2,,, 3,, hell, even 10 of them, what do you do if all 10 is taken out? if you arn't skilled enough in combat,, it doesnt matter what you bring out, you will face defeat, if you can learn from your enemy, you can eventually vin, yes, but if you lose the first one,, why bring a secound? chances are your enemy will already be ready for the next one, and since humans are animals of habit,, chances are you gonna use same or simulare tactics as you already demonstrated,, considering you seem to like the javelin, you like big guns and heavy armour, smaller, more manouverble fighters in numbers can deal with such targets, a fleet consisitng of a idris or two, then a good sized squadron of heavy/medium fighters such as F8's or F7's or something simulare can deal with such,,, or what if you face a squadron of Eclipse? your javelin wont even see them before it's too late to evade the insert number of size 9 torpedoes here ,,,, if you're alone in that Javelin,, a single Eclipse and Mantis can take you out,, as long as the Mantis mannages to stay out of reach and keep you locked to that place while the Eclipse re-arms every now and then once its missiles is out, so for that,,, always have a fighter-escort consiting of anything between fast light fighters to heavy punching heavy fighters

And before you say, No, the Eclipse cant jump while the Mantis (or any other QT Dampening ship) is active,,, so the Eclipse gotta escape and run away from the Javelin before it can jump,,, or the Mantis can deactivate the QT Dampening and let the Mantis escape then turn it on again (=

Its a world of endless possibilities,, also i realize you're probally not gonna read half of what i say,, so fishball in white sauce with carrots and potatoes is amazing sprinkled with some crispy bacon bits

For comparison, Idris got same size shields as Javelin, once my Eclipse has shot its missiles,, ,i am able to fly back to Hurston, then to Everus Harbour, land, rearm, fly back and fire my next set of torpedoes before it has fully recharged its shields, and if that little Mantis of mine is skilled enough,, he can fly over and tap you once now and then to maintain your shields so they dont re-gen, and what you gonna do then? the mantis is quick, small and agile, and have a pretty good chance at getting close enough to hit you with a missile, a few bursts of pew pew,, anything really so you wont regen that shield,, so if i have a nearby vulcan to rearm me, so i just jump right away, rear mand come back,, you wont get the chance to recharge your shields before the enxt sets of torpedoes slam into you, and if i for some reason got more friends so i got two eclipses? they can take turns on shooting,, so you got a constant missile rain coming your way

But nontheless,, in the end we can only speculate,, we'll come back to this when its actually in-game and players will be flying and encountering them =

eclipse torps travel at 250 m/s and do not inherit the speed of the eclipse after launching. Shields or not, if you dont have a small task force of eclipses trying to inundate an javelin the PDS turrets will most likely shoot them down

asfar as i can see, the Javeling doesnt have a ton of turrets,, it got 7 turrets + two turrets with big pew epws,,, and i belive the smaller ones are stock with M9A cannons? i mean, if you upgraded to use repeaters and sacrefice your range, they sure can take down the missiles,, but if you come with a stock Javelin with those cannons? well, kudos for good shooting

a Eclipse missile will not use 12 secounds to reach you when you dump it at 2500-3000 meters,, even 2000,,, does the Javelin even have time to react to such a suddent torpedo? and yo say the torp goes 250m/s,,, my torps at 2000 meters will use 8 secounds,,,, 12 secounds if i want to shoot while sitll in stealth-range,,, you think the Javelin will be able to get commands from the Bridge, direction and target + get guns on target in a span of 12 secounds tops?

Because if any of the guns on the Javelin hit the Eclipse you're dead? sure, the Eclipse is faster than the missiles,, but yknow,, i like to play it safe, I study my foe before i engage, try to see how agressive they are, if they prefer t oattack or play defensive, You can learn a lot the first few secounds of encounter, simply from their formation if its more than one you can see how organised they are,,,

they've said javelins will have to be refitted and equipped with weaponry

it'll come an empty hull

to stop day 1 orgs having OP javs

you have to restore all 3 javelins

and if you have just base insurance you'll lose your restorations/loadout

you'll need specialised which overrides LTI

it won't be as hard as rebuilding a Bengal wreck but

refitting it with weapons will be a task for an org to undertake together

most likely will have to raid UEE javelins to get the parts

or spend a lot to buy them

Then,, one day, i was stupidly bored, i had star citizen installed as my brother tried getting me into the game a year ago,,, i didnt find it intresting, but that day,,, 29 november, i decided ''Hey, imma give it a try for myself'',,, i played it, i loved it, i checked out the devs to see how their personality was, and i realize they loved their game, i enjoyed playing, soooo,, the first week i spent 2500$,, and since then, i've spent 5,000 and steadly growing every month

So honestly,, its just because i enjoy the game, i feel its worth supporting, and im depressed as fuck so having a game like this where i can live into and escape reality really helps keeping me going every day, keeps me from thinking of previouse events, War Thunder i'd quit much earlier, but inever really found anything to replace it untill i started playing star citizen, now i just have fun here and enjoy the game,,,

But combat classes will survive a Salvo due to PDS

And you should theoretically be able to make any weapon a PDS, with the blade PDS systems have.
