cause they wouldnt have had to spend the first 25% of the movie explaining who the new female lead is
or have the super weird car dealer arc
they could have focused on the actual story line instead of fitting all the important shit in the last 40 minutes
the final battle was by far the best battle scene out of all the movies
oh yeah it was so rushed and spliced
like, how the fuck did Bumblebee and the others get caught? there was no explanation
yeah...
i will say though, driller was terrifying
when he was taking down the building
but shockwave died a disingenuous death
how they also sidelined optimus was also lazy
getting him trapped in cables, free for any Decepticon to kill but no one did?
shockwaves death was just them trying to recreate the blackout death hype from transformers 1
having all the humans team up to kill the 1 dude
starscream as well.... his death was... something
till the final battle, the movie was fine, barely excusable, but the plot and the splicing of that final battle were just.... sigh
well, that's enough complaining, i gtg o7
o7
Best shockwave is IDW
Best Soundwave is Prime
Best Starscream = Armada
shockwave in IDW looks cool af but the prime version looks like IDW with massive upgrades
I think Prime took elements from IDW but I mean backstories
oh
Shockwave from IDW was deep as fuck
im only thinking of designs
I know a guy on twitter who made a remake of TFP Shockwave 3d model
The guy modeled the entire shit out of it. All mobile parts.
the one thing i would change from prime shockwave is the gun arm, i would have made it into something that could also be used for science
He always been a gun arm
it is cool af
it has been a gun arm but its always appeared to be like a multiool capable of more interactions then just shooting
He has it for self-defense as far I know, but it's not like he can't remove it.
I know he does welding with it
Sitting at station waiting to meet a waifu and my trains are cancelled wtf +1 hour wait
im remembered why transport is so shit
I still prefer the IDW version
I think my water is tainted
If it's brown, then your place probably had its water shut off for a short time. (My apartment building has it shut off 3 times a year at least.)
We're on well water out here in the mountains, and had a metric shit ton of rain lately, so that's probably why
I'ma get it tested
Very sad day this morning
Why
Owned the drone for a total of 8 hours. But thank goodness for protection plan. Leaned my lesson - no flying anywhere near trees
Was trying to do a low flyby
It'll be about 10 days till I'm back in the skies again lol
That sucks what drone is it
yeah I probably could've told you flying near obstacles is bad lmao
I was born in the year of the dog, I got that dog in me
@zenith folio hey u wanna play poker?
DJI Mini 2 SE, already sent it out for replacement. 29 bucks to replace
Looks great
It had a total of 54 min flight time before crash
Geebus. I just looked at the weather map and... the USA is boned:
Canada fires still going on, causing severe air quality issues.
Looking at getting the 3 Pro when I have the money, looks like tonnes of fun, when you're not becoming part of a tree anyways
Toasty in the southwest
you guys need to chill out
Just zoom in and stay about 5-10ft above tree line; I do sweeps like this all the time. I've crashed mine once when the wind picked up and yeeted it into a tree
Need more batteries, they go quick. Can't find a multi battery charger or individual batteries anywhere
Same issue with my original Mavic Air. I'm sure it'll be the same with my Mav Zoom 2, I keep forgetting to charge them and they just... die permanently
I was also going to get a 2nd drone but no stores near me have the dji mini 2 se so I was going to pick up this at my local bestbuy https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sku/6534909.p?skuId=6534909 but don't know if the camera will be as good as my mini 2 se
It says it's got a 4K camera, but doesn't provide the f stop or framerate. Hard to tell from just the sales spec sheet
That is the part that concerns me
I'll just wait for my dji to get replaced
probably the best play tbh
I got an idea while my dji is replaced how about going to opposite of up? Chasing gladius MINI Underwater Drone, 4K 1080P 12MP UHD Underwater Camera, Remote and APP Remote Control, Adjustable Attitude ±45°, Dive to 330ft, ROV with Backpack, Bobbin Winder, Advanced Remote Control, Waterproof Wipe https://a.co/d/ahRZona
Safer than oceangate
What colour is this, brown?
I had a submersible drone that we used in an old Atlas-F silo that filled with ground water. I had no idea (but should have) that they were wired, and for obvious reasons
burgundy/maroon-ish
What is maroon, I'm too colourblind for such exotic colour names
its a dark red
Dark reddish brown
Alright thanks
Maroon is a very sexy red ngl
The only named colour I know is my favourite which is navy blue
Like very dark blue
It my fav (I have 50 favorites)
Yeah it is
@indigo badger did you end up getting your guide stuff done?
I did last weekend, haven’t done any of this weekend’s set

hi gamer
Damn just fired up https://store.steampowered.com/app/1332100/Starship_Simulator/ to have a play with and it shows some definite promise.
Starship Simulator is a space exploration sandbox, where you serve as a crewmember aboard mankind's first experimental deep space exploration vessel. Your ship is tasked with the mission of exploring the galaxy beyond Sol to seek out habitable worlds, with standing orders to conduct science and make successful first contact with any alien specie...
To be announced
Yes
It will never compete with any current Space Sim game on the market, least of all Star Citizen. It looked okay, until I saw the planets and UI.
I don't think it's trying to, though
It absolutely seems to me like it's meant to be basically a star trek simulator, and honestly it looks like it could be a pretty good one
It looks ambitious and interesting, if nothing else
LOL No one said anything about it competing against anything. It looked interesting and shows promise is all, but I would say it exists in a significantly different space than any of the games most would assume it competes with.
agree, how THIS can compete with anything?!!!?!?
without a doubt a masterpiece
Reddish Brown / claret
It’s just asset mix for me, shaders look like stock unity ones
my favourite role
Its very satifying when SC is less broken than other games. CP2077 has been broken since its 0.60 patch with and without mods...
Mannnn I don't know how I got suckered into buying WARNO. It's literally the same as its predecessors in all the wrong ways

beautiful
does anyone know when the idris will be flyable
Next 10-15 years
If it isn’t locked in by CIG for the next patch, we have no clue. No one does. Not even leakers.
Perhaps its flyable soon™️ if they can complete SQ42, then you might be able to expect it in the shortest term of “next 5 years but only after server meshing”
But seeing as squadron probably has 5 more years of development itself….
Don't be dramatic. Idris will be released after sq42 is done.
Lol
SQ42 has been “nearly done” and in a polished state 3 times since 2015 lmao
Exactly
I give it 3-5 more years tops. Definitely not releasing this year or the next.
2 -3 years seems accurate
With this said.. you could always Steal an idris. Its not impossible and you can feel the limited uses.

People have been saying this for 9 years l m f a o
I won’t be surprised when they delay it again in 3 years
it's never wrong tho
Squadron is always 2y away
in 2y it will be 2y away
and in 4y it will be 2y away
SQ42 Release Date = currentYear + 2
the Xiaco'tican will rise up from the depths of the Pacific to reclaim the Americas and it will still
be 2y away
oh yea we’ll get pyro AND nix in 2 years ya
real
Anyone here run primaris hellblasters in their 40K army? Building them n I don’t know what’s more useful.

Nokia's remain superior
Just a month and a couple days until our physical copies start getting shipped.
Im all digital im afraid
If you got premium, you'll get to play the same day as us then. (Game Pass is "Day One" according to Todd. Which would be the 6th.) But we'll get our physical copies before the first of September, probably. Usually the case with big game releases.
Ofc I go premium
I'm actually kind of glad they limited physical quantities pretty tightly, because it means they can ship them out easily.
And if they really wanted to, they can always produce more after release.
I figure since Early access is being sold as an upcharge the physical versions will be digitally locked
not like Zelda
Imagine if the Aurora actually had a use. 😂 that would be funny, if they actually made it good at something other than being a size 9 torpedo
It's use is a starter ship
To give an intro to what happens if you die?
This is #off-topic-not-sc btw
I know…
So why talk SC in here
This is like, the one channel in this server thats not intended for discussion of buggy space game

Yes. because if you "could" care less, it means you do actually care.

that means you really care about how he feels about your grammar

hey guys, im getting a new cpu, can anyone tell me the best Motherboard for Intel i9-13k?
https://pcpartpicker.com/
This website is what I use. I recommend you look up the generation of CPU you have and then start browsing sites to see what they say regarding various motherboards
I find though that if someone tells you "just use X" they have a hidden motive. Modern Desktop hardware develops itself into niches that can be identified with enough time, and they all give features and capabilities you may want or may detest.
The "best" motherboard is significantly more than the CPU itself
what are you looking for?
@mellow badge for gaming and multi task
That's kind of vague, but aight
most boards will do gaming and multitask, that's moreso up to the chip
Looks like average might be 300 USD, although sub 200 exist for that type
the boards are for:
USB amounts
Overclocking
RAM configs
Storage configs
that kinda shit
RGB compatibility and WiFi too
As well as WiFi capabilities, or fitting your GPU etc etc
Soundcards stored on the board, some of the "mid" 4-500$ boards will boast a fuckton of features but have crappy sound because corners be cut
Are you a naughty naughty internet denizen that uses no lube antivirus and is prone to get a rootkit? Make sure you have a clear cmos button
My poor hundred buck Tomahawk had quite nice sound til I fried it with EMI from my GPU :c
Same, I bought a Schiit Hel 2E for that reason
That's a bit too deep imo
excellent purchase it was
Also, that's not really tomahawk specific I found out
Most boards nowadays aren't really equipped for the amount of EMI and general shite coming from the modern top end GPUs
Basically, there is quite a variance in Motherboards... but at same time there isn't.
ATX is the usual form factor (size type) with Micro ATX and then ITX being progressively smaller. I do not recommend using either unless you know what you are doing
yeah, but just trying to paint a picture of what the motherboard offers
Yeah, they're all special but they're also all just a motherboard
I'd wager the performance difference between OC on a 400$ board and a 1400$ board is probably like...5%?
Aye. I need to procure a new one in not so distant future. AM5 just came out and I don't plan on sticking with AM4 for my excessively purchased 7900 GPU
Not including the ungodly amount of damage you're going to do to an i9 if you run it at a high OC on a 1400$ board
AM5 still has some teething pains but it's fun
Sometimes it retrains my memory and I have a 40s BIOS
eh, it'll be nice though to have some new future proofing
AMD was nice enough to allow the previous chips to be used for newer and older boards similarly
@rugged lotus If none of this helped, then take a gander at #sim-and-pc-hardware to see if they'd help further.
Commercial, Private, or Military @compact granite
CLicked the wrong channel
weak
Good luck though.
You'll need LASEC if you have glasses for Military, but once you get in deep with Private or Public flights you rake it in
Thank you for all the info. I'm still pretty new to this, so I'm just trying to get a set up with i9 and use ddr5. Idk how to overclock and m.2 ssd. That's all that I can think off and know.
So, already
Z790 is the socket for intel 13th gen, and some Z790 boards will be marked "DDR4"
you will need to purchase the not those ones
M.2 sockets come standard nowadays, but you will need to decide how many sockets you will need
some come with 2 or 3, some come with 4-6
its funny the mods only check normal channels
@mellow badge thnx for the info

🫡
#sim-and-pc-hardware will know more about actual good motherboards than me
When i had a 13900k I used Aorus Z790 Extreme
bad motherboard, do not use
still cant find it
True. Don't mean we know wtf we're reading tho.
It was actually a very intense political discourse
I'm surprised y'all let it slide
shidded and farded
meanwhile my first motherboard had but one, and I was happy
although I did get a 2.5" SSD as well

Super intense episode.
A ton of allegations that also line up with current movements to untangle certain programs demestically. I highly recommend it and make your own opinion.
Dr. Steven Greer is back in episode #65 to discuss a wealth of ground-breaking science and discovery. First, he outlines new realizations around zero-point energy and how this supposed newfound technology is as old as time. Greer also covers how this technology has been hidden away from the public for decades by the military industrial complex a...

anyone who want to do the guide thingy with me for the rewards?
Hey guys I have a chance this month to get either an LG C2 48” oled 120hz or a 4070ti, I’ve just bought upgrades to a R7 7800x3D, my current GPU is 2070super, I can get the other next month so which first quality or performance? Any help would be great, oh and the screen I’m on now is locked 60hz
4070ti n wait for microled monitors - I used a c2 48” as s monitor w/ a 2070 super, and even though it looked fine w/ games running in 1080p/1440p, the 2070 super isn’t gonna be great for it.
I will say games look better on medium + HDR on a OLED vs max + non HDR on a non OLEDD
I use a tv most of the time due to back issues and having to sit on a sofa
I feel you on the back issues. I will say the C2 48” is my current TV and I really enjoy it. It does struggle against sunlight tho
I’ve got the sunlight issue covered aha got a pretty dark gaming room
Yeah I mean I gamed on the c2 w/ a 2700x and 2070s no problem
Oh I will say you will need a usb c to hdmi 2.0 adapter
Someone has just suggested I look into the 7900xt or xtx over the 4070ti is that a good idea?
Yes absolutely
What for?
I went from 2070S to 6950XT, I don’t miss the nvidia exclusive feature.
Is the new AMD cards better than nvidia now?
Output of HDR @ 4K120hz
7900XTX is a better value than the 4070ti for performance
Could I get a link
they are for value
What about performance
Cable Matters 48Gbps USB C to HDMI 2.1 Adapter Supporting 4K 120Hz and 8K 60Hz HDR - Thunderbolt 4 to HDMI 2.1 Adapter, HDMI 2.1 to USB C Adapter - Maximum Resolution on Mac is 4K@60Hz https://a.co/d/hGwcjYK this is what I used
rtx4090 is the best performing but at almost every price point that you can get an amd card it will perform better
Is the xtx currently AMDs best card?
the best amd card is the 7900 xtx which costs about 1k where i am while the 4090 is like 1.6k
Thankyou 🙂🙂
i got a 6950 for about 650
4070ti and 7900xtx are pretty neck to neck, you lose RTX and DLSS but imho RTX is a gimmick and AMD FSR is very good vs DLSS
nvidia have been focusing on ai more so gaming value is getting worse
If money wasn’t an option would you still take a 7900xtx over an RTX 4080-4090?
Not over a 4090
4080 yes I would choose a 7900XTX bc I’m red gang 💪💪💪
4090 is an actual giant jump in performance tho.
Red gang?
AMD = red, nvidia = green
Ahhh okay
I got a 7950X + 7900 XTX and it works well, which is to be expected though.
There are performance benefits to choosing an AMD gpu and AMD CPU
I’m getting the 7800x3D
I dont know specific GPU comparisons for SC though. Only the normal zoo of benchmarks
Yeah I'd go for that too for a gaming pc.
Smart Access Memory isn’t available for AMD cpu and nvidia gpu, only a system with both AMD GPU/CPU. It’s a 10-15% performance boost in some titles
So if I were thinking 4070ti or 4080 go for the 7900xtx instead and if thinking about 4090 then go for that
I want consistent 120fps ideally at max settings on most if not all my games
wont happen in SC most of the time
Yeah but that’s SC 🤣 on about everything else
If you want 4K 120 FPS on the C2 yea 4090 is the way to go
Just remember the RAM. Go for a minimum of 32 GB. That is a good set. Can go 64 GB but that isnt always needed, however for such a system the way to go imo.
Awesome Thankyou
Yeah getting 32gb DDR5 6000mhz
Will double it when I have more cash aha
I went for 96 GB even and may upgrade to 192 GB even when I finally sit down on a free day and get GPU-P in HyperV running instead of gaming, so I can multibox soon 👀
So yeah so much of "not enough RAM" and SC. You can easily fill up 40-50 GB for the whole system when you have SC and a few other programs running. Sure a good chunk is just "reserved/inactive" and not actively in use, but still, you get what I mean :D
Holy shit, lottery is up to 900M
Somebody win it and buy CIG
@ionic wave https://www.lollaparis.com/
Oh music stuff
Ohhhh my wallet hurting this morning
the fuck currency is that
I thought they were on the Yuan or whatever china uses
@umbral helm you're taiwanese?
That is a expensive hobbies
No they just be having all the airsoft stuff
Man I remember 20 years ago I had to order all my shit from RedWolf in china
I figured I’ll never own a real m249
ALWAYS got held up in customs
Why not get an airsoft one that uses gas instead of sewing machine
I mean... you can get the Civ variant maybe
You where not too far ngl
Yeah I know bout that
Is this even legally ownable for a normal citizen
yes

pretty sure the tip just needs to be orange maybe
I think that's illegal
What orange tips do ?
It’s semi auto
signifies a fake weapon
What r u asking is legal the airsoft or the m249S
O I was thinking orange tips on bullet
M249S is semi auto only so it’s just a rifle
Oooo ok
The airshit is legal as well bc it’s airshit
No brrrrrt less fun
The ability to use STANAG mags or 100-200rd boxes....
I never tryed airsoft
Air soft doesn’t sound soft tho
Plastic ball are hard
Solely bc it sounds cooler

AEG probably better in every single way
most people will shrug off a shit ton of them before actually calling their hits
and a lot of arenas have engagement distance rules that nobody follows, like you can't mag dump people at point blank range

I want to discuss Starfield
Solo game ewwww
I hope I can hijack the UEE Vigilance
🙃
knowing bethesda... probably not
Knowing modders, maybe
But big ship
also, yeah not buying for a second that it'll be as mod friendly as skyrim
probably going to come baked in with creation club 3.0 and mod purchase credits
Sound like editor greeed again
Bethesda is will never be anywhere near as bad as Paradox though, holy shit
lately it look like Big editor does care that much about the quality of the game and just want to milk us dry
Hey Swys
Creator Club makes me want to put an IED in Todd Howard's mailbox
I’m off topic in the good Channel today
Yeah, no way they dont try something scummy
After trying with Skyrim and getting shot down
then again with FO4
Then again with Skyrim again
I think they realize it's because they gave players freedom then took it away
It actually worked that time, paid mods exist now
this time they'll just give it heavily restricted, then loosen up the restrictions due to backlash
creator club was only good when it had free stuff
But the restrictions will still be restrictions
FO4 mods are the best. I added all kinds of shit like real-world weapons and armor.
Made the game actually fun
I hope Bethesda has realised now that people only love their games as much as they do because of mods
They would be nowhere near so beloved without them
i had to use mods to get fo4 to work with ultrawide
They have
and will try to monetize it
Yeah, they will
I guarantee there's going to be something fucky
like, the pre-ordering bonus is a fucking skin pack
SMH imagine selling content made by the community
I know it's just a community design
didnt they work with the designers?
Yeah but idk feel ok when it’s just a comunity design
I wasn't here when it happened so maybe
me neither but i think i heard something about it
Oh yeah, the redeemer is in no way comparable to paid mods I was just joking around
I'm waiting to see what the BS is
Will it be: modders encouraged to charge for mods, simple as?
Creation club out the ass, day 1 DLC, season pass
or will it be: full modding suite only avaliable if you charge for mods/sign up for CC
I think it'll be the second one
Season pass on a solo game
I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to lock modding behind the CC
@umbral helm how would you make this gradient less shitty
They technically didnt lie on reveal when they said modders paradise

They did it with FO4
Gonna have to do glazing but tbh it looks fine to me. You already have great transitions between the colors
i think this will be the case, and theyll give the excuse that CC lets them port mods to console for a uniform experience
Which will hamstring the PC mod community because no SFSE
and people are gonna be
I think that’s great for tabletop, definitely above average / better than tabletop standard
Eyuuuup
My lahman medium did not remove the gloss 🥲
Try painting over a matte finish
Should kill the gloss
Something bullshit is gonna happen, im sure of it
so far, an SP game with only skin MTX? Seems too good to be true
Or maybe it'll just be the usual dogshit optimization
I reckon they're gonna pull some bullshit
How to milk you more
Day one DLC, season pass, creation club out the ass, skin mtx, and I bet there's some bullshit they'll surprise us with on launch too
at the bare minimum the performance will be bad
Solid odds we see framerate bound physics again too
I don't trust em not to unfix that one from fo4

Even if it’s a mid game Bethesda is still gonna make bank just from all of its diehard fans
All they needed was that one gameplay trailer
i feel like less people said shit like god howard after f76
fanbase is definitely still there
I say it ironically at this point
I don’t think I ever fully enjoyed a Bethesda made game, I was too late to the show for fo3/fonv, only having played fo4
Doom was super good but that was Bethesda publishing
doom is id right?
Yeah
Bethesda’s name is on the credits so I’ve heard people say it’s a Bethesda game
and they made Wolfenstein
Ye
i hope they dont release another fallout game for a while
I thought the pattern was they alternate between fallouts and elder scrolls
that's only true if you count skyrim SE as its own game
Gta VI when
Lmao I fully do not care about gta 6
I think that game's gonna slap unnecessarily hard and also force me upgrade my PC again
When they announced they were pulling back on the caricature of American culture that made the 5th game what it was today I’m like “cool save me some money”
Bethesda is a publisher and a developer
They published Doom and Wolfenstein but they deserve no credit for them
this time with shark cards that you buy from an actual store in game
???
Wait what what do you mean?
I hope they keep their weird peer to peer to server MP so i can hack in billions againn
as well as the dishonored series
Rockstar has provided very little reasons why their next installment of GTA will not also cement itself as one of the greatest developed titles of all time. Just like 3 and above.
San Andreas re-release was a shameless, poor quality port sure but they care so much more for landmark releases.
Nvm I read a story that someone reported that they were gonna dial back the offensiveness of the gta series with the 6th installment but looks like that was only a rumor
Predatory prices on their online game mode does not reflect their ability to provide historic game development overall.
I remember reading a supposed quote that said something along the lines of “the current America political climate is already a caricature of itself so we don’t want to contribute to it” or something similar
It'll be a good game it'll just be shitty on additional monetisation because T2 are greedy little fuckbuckets
gta+, separating next gen from current gen, REMOVING HALF OF THE CARS IN ONLINE FROM THE STORES
t2 throw around lawsuits like crazy
Just like GTA V/O was and just like RDR2 tried to be before they realised that whales care way more about sci-fi bullshit than anything western themed
This is why I uninstalled it
Unforgivable to just cravenly wrench out content like that and paywall it
I was like bro I’m glad I got the faggio mod and the cheburek because I’d be fucked now
A real new low for those greasebag scum
Knowing, like all GTA's since SA, that there will be a fully functional modded multiplayer experience curated outside of heavily monetized Online play which is generally avoidable is enough for me
Mfers tryna drip feed cars that were already released
Also doubling the price of the mk2 lmao
Like that’s gonna help anything
I wonder if they're gonna try to crackdown on fiveM/RP type modes to add their own
I got good memories of that game tho, still got my full PRB garage
Unless they curate the mode to serve the same function, which would cut into their own profits, they wont.
The Zion classic with the PRB body pillow in the back is my favorite
the mode existing as it does now cuts their profits
If they do I will fucking
do nothing because I am ultimately powerless to do anything about the abusive behaviours of videogame corporations
or maybe theyd just acquire fiveM and hit anyone else with boundless C&Da
no pipe bomb?
Calm down Ted
I'm not sure it does
I think those people would just
Not play GTAO
there was a streamer that said he would drive through his isp headquarters and got banned
Before fivem it was ragemp, before that SAMP. No matter how many cease desists they send, on a long enough time scale the community prevails. Literally 20 years of that active external development
I’m just floored that gta rp is one of the top streamed games currently, like when did gta become popular again
Since the VI leaks
Pokemon romhacks be like
Yeah exactly.
It was absolutely idiotic for GTA5 not to include the same online tools and features to create the gamemodes people are wanting to play. I was shellshocked then but over time it proved to be a marketing/financial decision, I anticipate the same for 6
I hope someone makes a GTA competitor that isn't owned by a shitty moneygrubbing corpo shitheel
I want GTA to get Battlebit'd
saints row
Also Minecraft had a gta mod server that actually got cease and desisted
RIP grand theft minecart
Saints Row could have been it but then they Saints Row 3 & 4'd and the remake/reboot/rewhateverthefuck was not well received
Saints row 3 wasn’t terrible imho but 4 and beyond were so fucked
Saints row 3 just didn’t compete with GTA and it needed to
Saints row was a good series until it leaned a little too hard on the scifi aspects
Saints row and duke nukem were both such good series that just hardcore flopped
Well Nuke Dukem got development hell'd for 15 years and then sucked when it came out
Be keen to see a reboot though
saints row 4
I am tired of holding my peace, I am going to say it!
The Bene Gesserit, are way fucking cooler than Jedi
I don't agree but I respect the opinion
The who what
The Bene Gesserit from Dune
I tried to watch Dune
Eugenicist space nuns
Not my thing
I only like audio books and havent listened to them since I stopped commuting
I also only like audiobooks
Based non book reader
The Dune one is quite good
Books are for stupid heads
But if you don't listen to em anymore that's fair
The voice, complete control over their bodies, and minds.
Subverting every culture as advisers and missionaries for hundreds of years, all with this plan to create the perfect being. Creating mythos and prophecy in those cultures so they have control over religious beliefs by prophecy that they started in the first place. It's just badass.
The best audio book is World War Z
They don't have the moral high ground that the jedi have, but they have some damn cool stuff going on
Amazing voice acting
Yet they lost to Timothy chalamet
The jedi use child soldiers
Now that is bad ass.
The Bene Geserit are a lot more morally dubious than the Jedi
Personally I just like the more martial and spiritual feel of the Jedi
I listened to this at work, incredible
He is space boy twink wonder. how couldn't you lose. It was written, and foretold. It just didn't go exactly as how the bene geserit wanted. But it totally upended the empire
Battle of Yonkers chapter 11/10
I like the space warrior-monk vibe more than the subterfuge-y eugenics vibe
But they are undeniably very cool
Oh I get it, I would still rather be a Jedi, but the mythos and power that these groups of women have, is awesome.
I would like the bene gesserat more if they were big strong dudes with big muscles maybe just wearing speedo and instead of the voice they just flexed on people and mind controlled them with big bad muscles oiled up to the max so slippery that they can slip into someone’s mind with their muscles
Call them the bene flexerat
Bene Chadserit
World War Z the movie was disappointing compared to the book. The only good thing about the movie was the Philadelphia scene
Imagine if they made World War Z as a Tom Clancy style movie instead
the movie was forgettable other than the CIG for zombie crowds
the book was awesome though
Fav chapter probably the ||chinese submarine||
actually idk, so many good chapters
Man I thought I was really going to rile up some nerds with space warrior monks vs space nuns
I like how the book referenced Land Warrior and even brought up legit flaws with it
I like how the book painted a really believable descent into completely fucked
but also an equally believable return from fucked
Just gib me 40k chaos marines at that point
The 40k lore is so brutal, and how incredibly powerful a space marine is compared to a normal person
brutal bloated*
That is probly true, but nerds back in the day liked to read, and the more to read the more books there were to buy.

We heard you LOUD and clear, Loyal Theorists: you want us to react to the popular Buzzfeed Animation series Chikn Nuggit. We read your comments, and now we’re here to give you all the LOOOOOORE!!! Is Chikn Nuggit as cute as he looks? ...
what on earth is that matthew
He means Bunnyhop, Igor, Sir Baudelaire himself is goated, obviously.
Boltgun is such a fun installment to the 40k game universe
I just discovered Foundry for TTRPGs btw if y’all havnt used it it’s such a perfect tool, makes Roll20 look like shit
The TLdR of it is 5th is only popular atm due to Critical Role, not cause its a decent sysytem
5e has its flaws, but so does every edition
Only one i ise online. Bought it waaayyy back in its alpha
And dnd being popular in pop culture now and it being the newest edition
@scenic field @fierce hare
4th became far too unwieldy at high levels and it took away the unique aspects of classes by having everyone use fundamentally the same abilities just with different flavor text
I need lunch
It’s just way to basic
Ya it does but 5th has way more issues than 3.5
3.5 is too bloated and crufty for me, 4e doesn't support dungeon crawls
Wat? Yes it does
No, it's popular now because it's the only one currently being supported/printed
Nah the difference between classes in 4e is 1000x greater than in 5e where every class I just “I use my basic attack again”
Do I want Chipotle?
I want mucho burrito
Which it wouldnt be anywhere near as popular as PF or earlier versions if not for CritRole
Just a tortilla filled with entirely too much sour cream for me, thx
In that you can technically do a dungeon crawl, sure, but tonally it just isn't consistent with the original spirit of a dungeon crawl the way OSR games, for example, do
This
The only class that just uses their basic attack and that's it is the champion fighter, everyone else has interesting things to do.
The biggest issue with 4e is how it destroyed the variety and depth of the magic system
Light tracking, food, water, all that survival shit is basically not there in 4e from what I've seen
4e Monster Manual goes hard though
sour cream, cheese, and that corn salsa only plz
ADD and 4th are the only ones where build differences and skills truly matter. Actually allowing for the crawls.
Wym it has way way more variety than 5e could ever dream of. You are so restricted in 5e it feels like you are playing a level 1 toon the entire time
Naw its there. Even more detailed than in 3.5 but most dont use it cause “too hard”
Nope, all that is there
Personally I have to homebrew the shit out of 5e to make it what I want, but no other system actually gets close to being what I want either
Loot is also way less of a big deal, which is a buzzkill for me
Its eother cantrips or basic attacks in 5e. As for the magic system 4th switched to a full action economy with a vancian cover.
It's not real variety, it's just doing the work for you to flavor your attacks.
As for magic, how does it have more variety? Casters in real D&d versions can have dozens of spells available to them, in 4E you just get a handful of abilities
And at high levels 4E was just awful, you needed an instruction manual to play your character
I’m doing a dark Sun campaign right now where all that stuff I hardcore tracked
5e benefits from magic itemization greater than previous versions. If your DM isn't dolling them out you're going to have a lackluster time until you get higher levels
A handful? You get pages and pages
Of which you can only pick a handful
In what 4th? Thats my biggest complaint. Its like diablo with the requirement of items to flesh out some builds (ie some slayer and skald builds)
4e has even more impactful magic items on top of having impactful powers already, win win
No you can have all the pages wdym
Not every ability needs to have two paragraphs of descriptions. Sometimes bashing someone upside the head is just bashing someone upside the head, you don't need three different side effects from that "ability"
So like every other dnd release outside of 5? For the manual part. 5e mechanically is the worst dnd release thus far. One is looking to take that crown
... No? You have to choose which abilities you got at level up, you don't get them all
There’s plenty of abilities that are basic
Yeah in 4th. I really like seeing a a character's actual achievements reflected in their sheet and loot is a really fun way to do that
I’m not talking about that, I’m saying a high level caster has pages of abilities
Which is a problem. Youre building around items instead of a character. And 5e fucks your skills no matter if youre trained in them or not and requires the dm to fluff around them
None of them are basic, they all have side effects
One of the players at my d&d 4 table would spend like 5 minutes reading all their abilities every time their turn came around and then just go "uhhhh, I'll twin strike I guess"
4th has way more magic items than 5th due to their need to finish builds and paths. Pretty much 4th level +
I’ll send you my character sheet right now and you can see, it’s extremely basic abilities for the most part
Which is still much more limited than 5e or 3.5 or whatever where a high level caster has the whole book
As a tiefling warlock, who was bestowed a flying broom to Eldritch blast like an orbital cannon from atmo, it was enjoyable for me
Thats just an unknowledgeable player though sadly. And thats 90% of 5th players
But 5th makes it much easier for people like that because they don't have pages and pages of abilities to try to comprehend
What?
Sure, a high level caster gets pages of abilities but so does everyone in 4e
Which is fine from a business position cause it allows for more new players with a smaller, if any, learning curve. It just doesnt make the system immediately great or good as a whole though.
This is extremely basic stuff, nothing complicated at all
Which is what made it decent compared to 5 or 3.5. Every player had choices and you didnt see the exact same builds at every table like in 5th.
Sure, but for more experienced players it makes the role playing part of it better since you have more room for your own whatever instead of having the system define that for you
Only reason critrole swotched was money. They all enjoyed PF better
except 4th has like a bazillion options for you to choose so you can define yourself
PF is just 3.5e which is basically the same as 5E
That is just not true at all
Except with decades of awful and OP books
Not in 5th. Atleast without heavy DM handling skills and etc. skill checks are pretty much non existent at most tables cause the DM has to fudge it all…. Everytime. If they use the default rules that is
3.5e is not basically the same as 5e
3.5>5
I think you're on too much MJ, your math is bad
PF/3.5 and 5th ed are like trying to compare a fine dining establishment to a McDonalds mate
i used to be a paid DM by wizards of the coast, i actually play tested DnD NEXT before it got turned into 5th and i also play tested 5th and was sending in tons of feedback to wizards about it, all negative of course as i hated it
I tried to look at PF2e but it's just too crunchy for what I want
And in that analogy, 4E is a buffet
Lmao I saw people talking about it being hard to get people into destiny 2, Oh I checked how much it would cost at cheapest itd cost over 400 dollars for the full d2 game which makes it so hard to get new people into it. it felt like nothing because I paid over the course of years
someones reply- FR I pay only $100 a year such a small amount but its hard when its all at once
Lmao as if spending $100 a year vs all at once would make it any more enticing lol
also hi
Just like master modes eh?
"Oh, this is too easy, I don't want noobs being able to join my exclusive hobby"
YES
Wait what? How so? Thats the exact oppisite of what it was. Unless im misunderstanding what you meant.
fucking casuals as mother fuckers ruining all my hobbies!!!!
Hey Me too!! Ive still got my card somewhere around here!
The simplifications it makes compared to PF1 are cool but there's elements of PF2e that I'm just
on
haha nice im sure mines somewhere
It's been a while since I read the book so I can't think of any examples but there are parts that are just too annoying for me to want to deal with
Dont get me wrong, 5th was good for WOTC and DND but horrible for the TTRPG Landscape as a whole.
doesnt 5th edition not even use minions or bloodies, 2 of the best mechanics to come out of 4e
Not minions perse, but it still has some bloodied mechanics if they use alternative rulings
Yeah they threw the baby out with the bathwater on a lot of stuff with 4e from all the nerdrage about it
My other issue with 4E was the power creep that happened in the later books they published. At least with 5E if you want to be something from the normal PHB that's still viable, but in 4E if you didn't have the later book options you might as well not bother
this is just untrue
Ya the good strides they made with 4th ed they threw away. Then CritRole and others help assuage that some but it still didnt fully overwrite them.
4e did some stuff that I really enjoy and I'd love to play it some day (no digital tools makes that difficult tho)
Minions are something that a DM can easily introduce
Bloodied, ehhh
4e's monster manual was 🔥
Orly
Compare the PHB versions to the "Heroes of the blah blah" versions. Power creep
Thats def not what happened. Unless the DM that ran the stuff for you purposly did it. Some of the later books actually made some of the OG builds even stronger than say.... the one skald build which was hands down more broken than the current Pally/lock munchkining. Even without min maxing lol
Exactly, you needed to get the later books in order to be strong enough
Youre first line right there is the biggest problem with 5th. The DM has to homebrew way to much to make the game(s) decent.
most of the classes i play come out of the first PHB and my toons always destroy
You misread what I put. The OG Builds were never pushed down upon power wise. Unlike 3.5 and Def 5th ed.
I mean how long did it take them to fix, in writing, the ranger?
Or the Druid?
We don't talk about rangers
Druids are fine
Ya now.
This is definitely my experience, but that's just because I like my game slightly crunchier than 5e but not quite as crunchy as PF2e
Hell Baldesingers were fucking broken for a long time and were delayed 4 times lol.
Druids have always been fine
There is no war in Ba Sing Se Baldur's Gate
Druids have always been pretty good from what I've seen tbf
i made a broken bladesinger years ago in 4e and ive been trying to remember how i did it for years but i cant figure it out, unless they erratad something that made my build not possible
I think you need to be put with someone who knows PF2e lol. Its no where near as crunchy as most others. One of the reasons I honestly prefer it over some of the others out there. Good math base, Good Mechanics base, and if I want to change stuff its easy to without having to redo 12 other things like with 5th Ed.
Sad part about druids is that Moon circle isn't in the SRD so Solasta doesn't get that, there's no wild shape based circle in Solasta
Naw druids were incredibly lacklust except Ciricle of the Moon? Or there was one other Circle which was the only one viable for a while.
Maybe it is just that I haven't played PF2e; I do struggle with learning game mechanics without playing them
I'm sorry I can't hear you because you're covered in webs because I'm a giant spider
If you ever wanna walk through or help with it just hmu. Been trying to plan a nice more "realistic" campaign but its incredibly hard to find people. And since im moving in Sept to a place with shite internet ive kinda put a hold on it lol
Every class in 5e has one subclass where wotc dropped the ball
"one" kek
At least one, anyway
Ya
Isn't there a meme for that? The three headed dragon with one derpy one
Perfectly applies
5th Ed fucked with Action Economy too much, and they completly shat on skills.
Its back to 3.5 where you either have a combat effective character or a social effective character with the standard rules and without DM Manipulation and changes.
Four Elements monk, Beast master Ranger, Purple Dragon Knight or whatever the fuck they generified that to (cavalier?), Etc
Thats one thing that made the Matts so successful. Both are damn good at hand wavium, as well as doing it on the fly.
Be a bard, paladin, warlock, or sorcerer and you can easily be both social and combat
4 elements monk is a travesty
I want to be like Colville when I grow up
Lol no you cant. Bard pushing hard on performance? Ohhhh you at this show and youre level 20 and supposed to be one the best dancers in the world, sorry your skill rating is still too low to not roll failures on more than half the rolls lol
I mean, not bearded or a man, but otherwise like Colville
You know MCC is here right? Dude hangs out and speaks up once in a blue moon.
Wat
I mean, sure, if the bard hasn't been putting points into performance, of course he's going to fail high level, that's their own decision
So just all the classes that use CHA lmao
He's how I found out SC was actually playable after hearing about it in like 2014
Never seen him in this server though, that's neat
Yes, if you want social-ness, be a class that benefits from cha. Obviously
Naw even with pushing it. One of my biggest personal upsets in 5th ed was playing a Cleric that literally, per the rules, went to school about Hunting Demons and such. Get to one, cant tell people its name cause even though I rolled an 18 the "dc" was like 28 or some shit. Even though in the world its one fo the most widly known baddies during innastrad lol.
I had plenty of strong men who knew how to use that Intimidation with no CHA, not really do able in 5th
If the DM is setting the DC too high, that's the DM's fault
5e using bounded accuracy means that the DC shouldn't be that high
It is absolutely doable, you can switch the attribute skill checks get made with
Oh you build a character around persuasion?? Welp better hope you get a nat 20 or 18+ on almost every role or youll never be able to use it.
In this case, it would be Intimidation (Str)
Again, this is the DM failing to set the DCs correctly
Technically that's a variant rule but I don't know anyone that doesn't use it
Real rules only at my table
Thats based on the Books. Doing the Take 10 makes it even worse in most occasions which is WHY the dm has to step in and edit it. Where they shouldnt have to step in on something that simple. PF2es skill system is much MUCH better comparativly.
My sibling in Bahamut, the variant rules are literally in the DMG
They're just optional
No handicap
No, thats the system mechanics at default. Which is -the- problem I have with 5th ed. Requires Way WAY to much homebrewing to be decent.
Dark sun campaign only. All will suffer
Dark Suns great but I gotta have a character that would fit it. The main ones I enjoy playing right now just wouldnt work in it lol.
It doesn't require home brewing at all, it requires DMs to understand how bounded accuracy works
The DC to identify a common demon type should not have been 28
I’m playing a wild dwarf warden in the one I’m in
Gotta agree with Chris on this one, that DC was way too high
Yessss and even then most still FAIL in things they have to roll for and still have to roll for some shit that should be common knowledge for them. Per RAW
Again, per the Books it was higher than it should be.
I'm sure that you remember everything you learned in college
Schools for fools
Not common knowledge stuff.
Take for example a Paladin. If the group goes up against a Vampire most Paladin paths would KNOW its a vampire based on its aura/etc. Nope, gotta roll for it.
Where as 4th Ed, Pf2, and others a lot of that shit is given cause youve already surpassed the knowledge level "requirement" for it.
Hey my Vryloka has taken huge steps to ensure his secret is safe
You don't actually have to roll for that, that's not a rule I'm aware of
As a reborn Its tough getting around some NPC Paladins lol.
Fairly certain monster knowledge check DCs never had a RAW value specified
Certainly it's one I wouldnt call for a roll for
Depends on if the DM is heavy handed on RAW based on beast knowledge etc.
“Someone smell that? Smells like death.”
Requires either Religion or Nature 15+ for most vamps
So even if you train for it theres <50% chance youll fail and not "know" it
Gonna need a source on these rules, these don't sound real
Even experts make mistakes sometimes
Van Helsing would not mistake a methhead for a vamp lol
Somewhere in MM it says that monsters have DCs for knowledge?
But back to 4e vs 5e, in 4e, my character feels like an actual hero that can slay demons and bring down dragons. In 5e it feels like we are all a bunch of peasants hoping and praying for a good roll
Looking it up rq
For things like racials, hp, stats, etc ya.
Might be more specific in DMG I havent played 5th ed in 4-5+ years
Turns out you don't need accurate identification to know that a stake through the heart will work
Which isnt the point for the skills in 5th Ed are shite topic
EMF put an example of one of them
All of that assumes it's been identified as a lizard folk so that's presumably less than 15 dc
Shouldnt have to roll for that lol
Not necessarily. Could roll to try and figure out what it is.
That'd be like trying to roll to figure out if a white guys white.
Less than 15 “idk some monster let’s kill it”
Now figuring out what type of lizard folk it is sure.
That's not a 5e book
One thing that I really like about PF2e.
I just looked it up in the 5e MM, there's no rule for knowledge checks at all
Is it not?
That’s just 5e being less fleshed out then
I prefer knowledge checks to be ruled on the fly anyway personally, I don't think you actually need a rule for that
PHB 177-178 is part of it, goes into deeper detail in DMG. I was wrong about it being in the MM. My apologies on that one
For something easy like that, DM should set the DC to 10, and a character who has any points in the relevant knowledge skill won't fail
Checking rq
More lore more better I always say, unless we are talking hand tying Star citizen lore
But yet again, requires the DM to do the Take 10 instead of standard system. Something like that shouldnt be a variant.
No? That's not take 10, that's just how it works. Anyone with a +9 or more can't fail a DC10
Oh, I read the "DM Should set the DC to 10" as using hte take 10.
Just checked that area of the PHB, nothing I could see
Looked like the right section
Again though its one of hte reasons why i personally enjoyu the PF2e way of doing it. Its in stages, Depending on if your Trained, Expert, Master, etc.
Maybe it is just in the DMG
(fucking stupid how these books are arranged tbh)
The PF way of two books, one for Game Rules and one for Monsters, is way more usable
Oh god and the index is the worst
Unless it was removed from the "newer" PHB's which is common with 5th ed (yet again stupid) its in the bit about Intelligence checks.
Thats one thing thats keeping me away from "One." A Drow shouldnt get the same ability score benifiets as a dwarf or etc. Fuggin stupid
Racist
Obviously a size tiny fairy should be able to be as strong as a size large goliath
Yeah, don't see it in the DMG either
Something i honestly dont get. I mean someone whose born in the northern US is gonna be more adaptable and used to the cold than someone born in florida. Same thing
Must have been errata'd out or something
I made one of these once, it was unstoppable
The removal of racial stats in One is dumb as hell
Different physiologies behave differently
Doesn’t surprise me they are errating most of what made DnD… DnD
Fantasy peoples should not just be different flavoured humans in these games, they should actually have different traits
Shit theyre gonna have to completly redo the moon sea lore cause of all the slavery bits lol
Making it essentially just flavor is ridiculous
Yep
It's still there
"inhabitants of those planes"
Oh yeah I'm an elf but you can't tell because I behave and think and have the exact same fucking stats as a human

Why are you upside down wtf
Idk why modern stuff have this weird thing about pretending slavery isn’t a thing
Shareholders
Of course
You pulled a me and had the phone upside down with auto rotate on lol
Slavery is controversial and controversial means less money let's sanitise the shit out of everything instead
The D in D&D stands for Disneyland lets gooo
Pop cultre and the court if public opinion
Wdym, it's always been "Boba Fett's Firespray" and has never had any other names
Rofl
Nooooo we can't put "Slave I" on a lego box, people might not buy it
Its the whole orc/drow debate all over again though. THose races have always been "evil" sure theres more offshoots with decent orcs over drow but theres 0 reason unless the world setting states otherwise why Faerun Drow shouldnt be murdering fucking evil assholes in general. But if someone tries to do that with orcs or drow the whole racist card is thrown up and about how wrong it is lol.
But ill digress about going into that deeper here lol
That's a whole complicated issue that I get around by just not having objectively evil species
They also want to stop calling the biggest bedroom in the house the "master bedroom" because... yeah.
(except for creatures that aren't persons)
Plus there was always the option with DM permission to have something that went against the "normal" alignment of a culture
Which is 10000000000000000% fine.
I’m not Australian
I had someone get all pissed off in one of my campaigns cause goblins were distrustful little fucks and considered evil. The player in question didnt know that due to player interaction and world lore the goblins literally tired to genocide EVERYONE THAT WASNT A GOBLIN cause their Diety told them too lol
man is an objectively evil species
100% agree, lord of the flies was right
I have a massive love for Dark Elves so in all my worlds Drow are seperate from "dark elves" and even then the Drow are split down the middle between the sterotypical evil fucks and those going "Hey, we have evolved past that shit... come on ...."
Malekith was the true Phoenix King
Shit i went on a tangent.
Norse Dark Elves =/= Sterotypical fantasy Dark elves sirrrr!!!
I mean to be fair, sure, the "typical alignment" and to a lesser extent the normal ability bonuses/penalties should be a culture thing not a species/race thing, and the books have always done a poor job conflating that... But in fixing that they went too far the other direction
They fixed it in 2e with "usually x"
They only got Norsed up after they got kicked off the donut
dunno why they didn't just keep that shit
And then specify in later books that it was cultural not biological
Pretty sure the 5E MM called out that alignment was "usually" not "always" for sapient creatures
It did but not in the stat blocks
Dunno in Faerun, up until the Spell Plauge a lot of races kept to themselves outside of specific interactions. Sure you had places like Neverwinter but you'd never fucking step foot into the southren moonsea as ANYTHING but a Higher Elven species without being specifically invited. And even then it was TOUGH getting in.
This whole thing has been blown way out of proportion because executive pigs are scared that they might not make all of the money if their product contains complex ideas
Saving one word per stat block saved them a ton of money on ink
Cancel Culture is a scarey as fuck thing.
@noble panther Ready to be held? It'll be lovely 🔪🫂 👀
Have y’all played dnd online with Foundry before? It’s really like nothing else, it’s more like playing a video game. Fully animated 3D maps and tokens, when you use your attacks animated abilities automatically happen, it’s really on another level
Foundry looks good, but personally I use Tabletop Simulator
Yes but that's a culture thing, not something inherent biologically
Yep main one Ive used since it was in Alpha. Soon as it was able to be in my hands I dumped Roll20 and other platforms.
Roll 20 is ass
im being sexually harassed
Tabletop simulator seems way too janky and laggy for a lot of things
I was looking at them all and was told foundry is the best for 4e
It is janky, but it's way more fun to prep than most VTTs
And it was immersive and one time purchase
Plus, real virtual table and real 3D model minis
Sorry DM, I accidentally hit the "flip table" button again
I only discovered it recently and it’s like I’m a new dm all over again I’m so excited about it lol
Also supports VR which is cool, but if the table had a lot of scripts running that really didn't work well
?roll d20
Yeah, I don't use any scripts, I just play like I would at a real table
Roll20 sucks
😠
But it would be biological as they had lest envrionmental pushes to adapt to. So in a sense it would end up being a racial thing. Personally I agree with you though. Like a human from the spine would have different stats than one from say Waterdeep or some shit. But that gets to be way to much for most DM's to handle imo.
Oh its great if you need help with it msg me.
Will do, thanks
I like Tabletop Simulator for a couple of the groups i had IRL during the pandemic. But I'd personally rather it all be IRL than using any VTT.
If I buy Foundry do my players have to too?
Or can they access the games for free?
I doubt it
If you've never spilled mountain dew on your map in tabletop simulator then it's not accurate
Nope. Foundry is self hosted, or you can pay someone to host it for you.
Yea irl is best but it’s just so hard to get people to depend on to always show up these days, everyone is always busy with their kids n shit
So I just host it and they log in to it with a browser or something?
They can acces it via the link you give them. You just want to make sure you set up their username/pass ahead of time.
Rad
Pretty much
I'll keep it in mind if I run another game online
i rolled a 20 you guys
In-person is always gonna be best though
Thats the one thing im kinda excited about with my move. New area, well Ill be returning to that area, but last time i was there the TTRPG scene was like 20 people lol.
It might be slightly more awkward and inconvenient but it just hits different
i'd play dnd but i'd need to learn how to play lol
Its one of the best. Takes a bit more prep and set up than Roll20 or some others but you can do much more with it without a stupid ass pay wall.
Highly recommend it, here’s a video showcasing it https://youtu.be/_d7k8ognC0w

my character will be named Andre, he's a giant
Is the prep less of a pain in the fucking ass than Roll 20?
Eh you'd be better off going into Pathfinder or GURPS or one of the dozens of other systems right now. The DnD Community is a bit heavy handed.
Because that thing is a fucking jank machine
heavy handed? like for petting?
in some places yes, in some no. IE Its easier to set up lighting and LOS/FOW than R20 is .
It’s 100x more intuitive than Roll20
My hatred for Roll20 is unbridled and ceaseless
No like if you build a character a certain way youll get blasted/cancelled/banned.
Get in line lol.
jesus lol
i just wanna have a giant named andre who's quest is to get bitches
This isn't my experience with it, but YMMV
ymmv?
Or in the DM Side if you post an online LFG post and not include LGBT+ Stuff youll either A) Get little to no views, or B) Get fucking ousted as some type of -ist.
Your Mileage May Vary
oh x)
is it twitter? lol
If you want to dive into the deep end and join a dark Sun campaign let me know but it’s the hard core version of dnd
It honestly depends on where you go tbh. Reddits LFG can be hit or miss. R20 LFG was heavy HEAVY handed.
lol Dark Sun being hard core is an understatement.
a beginner mode would be great lmao
Its like trying to play diablo on hardcore Ironman mode being 20 levels behind everything and getting no loot.
And all the weapons are made of wood and stone and everyone kills you if your use your magic lol, I love it
Honestly, see if where you live has any game stores and go along to an event one day
Hit up Reddits LFG and find someone excepting newbs or make a post within their guidelines about wanting ot learn to play. You being new will get a ton of people/options.
They're usually pretty welcoming
this sounds way more up my alley 😄
Best advice is best.
What state are you in?
massachusetts, the best one
Or are you out of the US?
My city alone has like three and it's not a particularly big one
The one I can’t spell
to gain entry you must spell the state
Theres a ton in east or south east mass. Springfield has a bunch gets sparse the farther out you go.
Where im at now has 0 but an hour away both east and north you can find dozens.
Anyone in here backed Flee Mortals!?
Since I was already apart of the WOTC program there was one that was about 2-2 1/2 hrs from me that offered to pay me double what WOTC was giving me to run their Adventurers league stuff.
I can't fuckin wait to get mine, the packets look rad
It's an MCDM monster book for 5e that takes a lot of cues from 4e
Naw, its something I wouldnt back tbh.
Ya if I was still playing 5e or running games in it I'd def look into getting it.
Once its out ill borrow it from someone and see if its something I wouldnt mind adding to my huge list of shit I still gotta transfer to PF2e lol
Almost done with WoW and FFXIV classes/races.
Yeah I plan to keep running 5e for a while, at least until I find a system that's more close to what I want
What are you looking for? If you dont mind me asking.
Just play more 4e you know you want to
kek I'd love to get into a good 4e game.
Would give me a chance to revist some of my favorite characters of all time.
Its kind of hard to explain. The easiest way I could describe it is somewhere between PF2 and 5e?
Though not sure how they'd be outside of those specific campaigns lol.
I’m in two right now, dming one of them
Ehh those are "bottom" level when it comes to TTRPGs tbh. Going to other ones are either going to open things up (IE Gurps) or close them off depending on the system.
Theres a couple out there that are hyper realistic using d6 systems but holy fuck balls mom. They are Brutal and difficult to get into
GURPS is something that's never particularly caught my eye, seems super bloated and crufty
It -can- be. Its designed to be an open system that allows for literally anything and everything.
And the more rules light stuff like Dungeon World just seems too hollow for me
Obvious answer is to use the WOIN system http://www.woinrpg.com/
One that I h ad fun with but its damn near impossible to find people that want to play it is one of the Final Fantasy rule sets and the Pirates of Dark Water books. But the latter is literally pretty much only a couple one s hots.
NO. NO GET BACK NO.
I've got the books if you want to come over and do a session sometime
Should only take 20-30 hours to make a character
20-30 hours KEK. Thats lowballing sir.
Of course, that was using the pregens
I like tactical combat but I also value rulings over rules while still wanting some crunch. If I had to describe what I actually want I'd say like... An Advanced 5e, but made by people that know what fun gameplay is
Shti what was that one system that people used for mech games. Great base but holy fuck a basic character sheet was like 12 pages of standard size a2 paper lol
BACK AND FRONT
Lancer is the only mech game I know of
Pretty much 5e. They cleaned up the math a ton and opened up things mechanically to allow for player growth without having to DM hand wave a lot of stuff. Also gives the DM a huge toolset to world build and set up the campaign as they wish
The battletech rpg?
Wasnt lancer, gonna have to go through my google docs and find one. An EX Gf got me into one that was based around Zoids.
My only issue with 5e is that its missing a bunch of shit I want
No battletech was pretty straight forward.
But it's pretty trivial for me to homebrew stuff in and I already have
says 90% of 5th Ed DMs lol
You know the game is bloated if battletech is "pretty straight forward" by comparison
No fucker willing to run them ever but hey
