I know you probably already do this, but crack everything down to purple that you want to scoop then start from that point. You should be able to collect 32 SCU in less than 4 minutes (give or take a few), QT to refinery and land without ever hearing one warning. Unless you are traveling way further than I do

Hello all! I bought the game yesterday, I've been able to retrieve my ship and go to a space station and back to area18.

I'm a peaceful player in space games. I enjoy mining, exploring, trading and supplying.
What ship and additional tools (if any) would I need for this purpose?
Also since I started and have no money I wanted to ask about a good way to get income starting out.

an excellent starter and following the many very good youtube videos and using that ship you should be able to try most game play loops and see what you like and where you may want to go iwth the game moving forward.

when you press F1 to bring up your mobi you will see a contracts icon at the bottom..from there it will show categories on the left..

its something like delivery or courier ...

these are nice to start cuz they are laid back, get you to travel around and see stuff..and bring in money...if you stick to the same companies for your contracts you will earn "Rep" and will unlock better paying jobs ...as much as you are willing to grind 🙂

from there tho you could make more money doing bounty hunting or merc missions or other kinds of missions..but those are combat..so until you wanna try it..delivery missions are good.

i dont bother trading though, its too much effort for the margins compared to other forms of income.

But for a change of pace when i try it, I aim for, in order of priority, Laranite, Agricium, Astatine, Titanium, Diamonds, Gold

Titanium is usually in a good place though, in terms of demand and profit margins, you can fairly reliably fill a cargo with it, not always but a lot more often than higher profit items

Aim at it with your multitool with mining attachment, will start scanning, the rocks are brown with yellow veins and visible little gemstones on them

look for kinda stalagmite looking rocks flecked with colours, should be able to highlight it if its minable when you put your mouse over it

Be careful staying out to long you can trigger a 30. If the extraction beam stops picking them up a crash may be coming. You can transfer them to your backpack every so often then they are safer.

Sure. There are client side and server side periodic crashes to desktop. I just had one after 4 hours of gameplay. If client side you should respawn at the last spawn point with all your gear. But right now I cannot log back in the server I was at. That session is ruined. But I have all my gem earnings in the ROC. If I have to start a fresh session those gems are lost forever. And as I mentioned above there are warning signs your session is getting flaky. But if the gems were in my backpack they travel with you to the next session.

If you are at the spawn pad for the ROC try the repair feature. Or get the gems out of it and leave it sitting and start a new game session the Roc will be born again so to speak.

Fly to another L station and "Claim" it (the spaceship...) That will, I think. force the ROC off it. EDIT: If you don't have a second ship to use that method gather up all your gear and get in the pilots seat and hit backspace. Then exit the seat with the Y key and get off the ship and run like H. This will blow up the ship. Then log off like normal or have a friend take you home. Note you can cancel the procedure by tapping backspace a second time.

The ROC wears out pretty quick at the moment. So you need to reclaim it after each one or two trips. You can upgrade the parts one class (two engines and one cooler) that may help. But it only takes 40 seconds to claim, so when you go to an outpost to sell a batch of gems, back it out on the ground, sell the gems then go claim another one. Warning: do not claim the ROC while the old one sits in your ship (not that I would know why .... )

My experience is that the ore spawns tend to happen in the same proximity, how often isn't known. There are issues where asteroids are duds and Todd Pappy (head of the PU for CIG) said that this issue won't be resolved until persistency is implement. It could turn out that the spawns will actually be a diminishing resource (my speculation).

Trade isn't in a great place as a career and won't be for about (speculating) another year after the cargo refactor has had time to move out of Tier Zero. At this time, trade only favors the largest of ships with not much earning opportunities for mid to small ships. That isn't going to always be that way, so there will come a time where the RAFT, Hull A, B and the MAX and Taurus will have a chance to shine.

Big mining operations won't happen again until 3.17.2 drops LIVE. Until then you can touch base with @thin escarp who runs LOST, maybe the most active mining ops in SC. I think they run about 10 MOLE teams or more at a time on events.

RAW ore buying is also buggy, it sometimes works but often does not.

The reality is when you're running Laranite/Titanium mix as mentioned, you're landing in and departing from a planetary atmo, riding the tram, hitting the trade terminal, etc. The real time required for a full loop to complete is really long for the profit you're making, at least in relation to other professions like mining or combat.

any and everything you can get a hold of ... volume is the key here. Bexilite is the best but anything above astertine and laranite. Key point: you can crack larger rocks in space than you can on a planet surface.

You can pick a refinery station, like CRU-L1 and mine the asteroids around there. Or you can QT CRU-L1 towards ARC-L3 and drop out of QT (by holding the B key) at about 12M KM from ARC-L3

I can use the refinery kiosk to smelt it into transportable cargo, but this is no use as I don't have a ship with enough cargo space to haul it all and as far as I'm aware I cannot split a refined load into several loads (really hope they change that). active mining modules have 5 uses then they're gone (which is why they are so cheap), passive modules don't run out but are expensive. Claiming your ship will delete any mining modules you had equipped (laser stays)

Surge, stampede, optimum hands down. Can crack a 7800 mass rock solo so far with this setup. Video is kinda grainy. So use a surge to get initial charge up, let charge go back down to about 1/4 or so, then hit it with surge immediately followed by optimum, let the optimum run as long as possible, then stampede to finish it out. I usually carry a waveshift or stalwart gadget for the big ones.

The Character reset is really messed up. If you do this you need to wait, I would suggest, no less than 12 to 24 hours before trying to log back in. It got so bad that CIG was sending out word to discourage character resets in Spectrum

Best hadanite spot is Aberdeen, but you need a Pembroke armor set that you will have to get from Tanmany&Sons in Lorville (because all the refinery stores are nerfed).

One trick after you load your ROC into the ship is to quantum travel to OM-1 orbital marker and dive down to the surface from there. Under OM-1 it is always daylight. Also, don't trust the altimeter on the way down, you may crater on the surface.

Diference betwin asteroid belt and Lyria is that in belt, rocks are around 5.5 mass size, and on lyria are around 8.5 size max. In belt if you find cluster, its not always quantanium, and on lyria is always quantanium. Thats wy belt is better for solo miners, where you can brake till 5.5 mass alone even with out modules. And for Lyria, is betther to go in big group of players, you dont need modules, just somone go to you who is free to help you brake first leyer. 2 lancet Lazer can brake everything. This is how i em doing with biger group of people 😉

The SCTT data is pulled from the base values, prior to price adjustment from supply/demand. All commodities are shared across all servers so the more players jump on a specific commodity (like laranite) the worse its margins get and the harder it is to find to trade

So i noticed when I put in a work order I will get a yeild of say 2300 quant

And the ships on dps calc show cargo capacity as 46 for the curry black

I'm guessing the curry black can carry 46000 as listed in a work order?

Every 100 is one SCU so 46 is 4600 SCU
