@woven yarrow a rented prospector cannot be upgraded

it will break QT rocks, but make sure they’re under 4K in mass

and it will be a bit more challenging because the stock laster is not great at dealing with the instability of QT

I’ve heard the rocks in the belt are a bit better for a rented prospector (assuming you’re going solo) because they tend to be a bit smaller than on the moons, like Lyria

Hey I'm noticing that in game commodity prices aren't matching up with sc trade tools, and seem to be changing over time. Is this quanta? I was under the impression that on a first pass it would just effect refuel and repair prices

Not Quanta, just basic Supply and Demand. Locations produce/consume X amount of each trade good per hour, with a supply/demand cap of Y. These amounts are set in the game files, which SC Trade Tools has read, but the price is calculated from the base price and the current stock level, which is shared across all servers in each region.

SCTT shows either the "best case scenario" for lowest purchase and highest sale price, or the Average with midpoint prices. Not quite sure which.

There was actually a bug that killed Trading for a few versions, where every time a server crashed, it cleared the stock at every single location as "sold", so the Supply was constantly being reset to 0. Couldn't fill any decent cargo ship with anything.

Thankfully that bug is fixed now.

I disagree tbh. At the end its what you wanna do. I bought a C2 to haul my refined stuff and cargo hauling. Been doing cargo hauling to break the monotony of mining and try something new. IMHO its high risk, high reward. Ive just completed a route that in 10-15mins net me 100k+ which you wont get with mining unless you get really lucky. The only time I've lost cargo was because my Quantum Jump got cancelled and I had cruise speed on and crashed into a destroyed ship floating in space

1. The minerals youre looking for will appear under you suddenly when scanning at less than 1000m
2. They will appear at less than 2000m
3. You can always see them, but you need to get close to see if their icon turns into your minerals or a big stone

there is a place you can go in the coomons called surface elevators or something and from there you can pull a car and there is a huge area you can land a ship so you can load it inot it

I like mining hadanite on dymar. dont need a suit and last few times I hit Aberdeen/Arial either all the nodes were spawned under static terrain or some shady folks were skulking about trying either scam or kill me

You find a lot of 7k mass rocks on lyria especially
