Not a bad game mechanic for explorers/data collection.
or drop a marker
I think rn one can use delivery mission boxes for em :p
They could add a purchaseable deployable beacon that lasts 30 min or something
Eh, we'll eventually be able to record visited locations
That’ll ruin jumptown though
Mm, no
The locations are already documented
and there guides to get to each place lmfao
wouldn't change much
Manually flying to it vs jumping is a big difference
Sorry if this question was asked a lot, but did the ROC mining problem of 3.16 get fixed? In 3.16 I rarely found Hadanite or any other ores
Scanning is definitely more responsive for gems this patch
The ship scanner?
Yes
Aighty, I'ma give it another shot this patch then, ty :)
Looking to doing mining but have no mining ship. Anyone with a multiseater got room?
I was sent to this channel to ask: Hey. So I want to start mining with a ship. What should I aim for? Is it the MISC Prospector that I should buy?
yes, also check out the pinned guide
Yes. Very much is
ty, Im gonna buy it thern
which is the best mining laser head for mole ? helix ?
probably still lancet if you solo it
but what about helix II ?
if its like lancet, then II is just longer range but same power
check the pinned guide for modules
Lancet is way better.
Put the correct modules on and its really good for solo
Especially if you combo it with gadgets too
Helix was severely nerfed with a much smaller optimal zone and also a 40% delay response on power changes. This 108K aUEC Top of the line laser is being totally owned by a 20K aUEC support laser. That's how bad the hatchet job by CIG was on the Helix.
why does quantainium explode before its even near 15 minutes
its been happening to my friend a lot
Has your friend by chance hit their ship on something a bit too hard?
Then the timer could've simply ran out?
even though it was not even close to going critical
Hmm
it was like 5 minuites after collection
Oof
Yeah
5 minutes aint a lot
Depends on the distance of course
Though the prospector stock QD is pretty slow
grim hex to cru l1 with a vk 00
My best guess is that it simply ran out of time
It might go unnoticed
Just try to be swift with extracting ores and you should be good
I usually have more than 10 minutes after a full hold
yes
Wish the Mole would have an interface for the pilot that displays the cargo and timer
Has anyone made an updated quant scanning guide for Lyria in 3.17?
Woaa thanks!
Also, does anyone have an in-depth look at how calculations for resistance and instability vs mass and composition actually work?
Let me show you the best way to make money in Star Citizen 3.17. This is a new Quantanium prospector mining guide highlighting the new scanner settings in Star Citizen for 2022!
Making money in Star Citizen 3.17 has never been easier!
This prospector mining guide will show you just how easy it is to find quantanium on Lyria with the recent sca...
How much profit per hour is possible with a mole? Should I save for it? Or get a combat ship for bounty hunting
Do you have a group, or just solo?
Usually a group of 3-6, but I’d also like to do some solo if I’m bored and people are at school lol
Solo it's not really any better than a Prospector (Slower scouting but faster fracturing). Group, it's significantly faster than Prospector because you have a scout locating the deposits, you drop right on him, and take the node apart in like 3 minutes tops
Comparison, I'd say like 120-200k an hour VHRT group missions
Ah okay! Thank you
Would ya say it’s worth the price?
In game money yes. Can't say for real life money
Appreciate it!
new to roc mining here i tried mining something and when it broke all the little pieces went everywhere
i dont think im doing this right
It's most likely because you went red. It explodes more if you go red at all
I'm also new to mining, just bought the cutty and roc. Currently mining on Aberdeen until my game crashed. I'm scared I'm going to go back in and see all 30 cSCU gone
It's not too bad once you know what's happening, until your tractor beam breaks
Anyone wanna run cargo with me? I just have a little cutty, hut could be fun
That sounds about right. When it breaks and turnes into pieces, you break those smaller pieces until they hav ea purple outline. THen you have to extract them
anybody here have a c2 and can tell me the profit of trading
Spend 700k to make 130k, if you can fill up
For any of the miner bros in here, think I found a new god spot, keep finding 29% or higher quant astroids between 11,830,00 - 11,820,00 from CRU L1 to ARC L3. it is literally my new god spot been finding insane astroids within my first 1-3 and even if they arent high percent quant rocks like 1/2 of my rock finds are quant, if anyone else tries this area lmk
alternatively 6,815,000 to 6,835,000 to cru L1
great spot
run from SMO-10 and 22 I think? on micro tech to new babbage and buy astantine, like 500 something k for a full load and you sell for like 630 or something
you make somewhere like 130k profit for 15 minutes of flying
idk if links are allowed but sc trade tools is great, tells you that
numbers are a little diff in game but close
where would you sell after buying from new babbage
you don't buy from new babbage you sell there
ahh
you buy from SMO-10 or SMO-22 which are mining facilities on micro tech
okay
even though SMO-22 is on there higher would definitely reccomend SMO-10
SMO-22 tends to have only partial stock it seems everytime I ran SMO-10 I got a full load of astantine
max profits
okay thanks
what about laranite
dont people trade that for epic profit?
@lofty trout
technically speaking yes, but the stock on them are so rare and far between you have to stop at multiple outposts and eventually it becomes more of a time waster then profitable majority of the time in the current patch
that website I showed you shows the absolute best time to money ratios from top to bottom
and current best is astantine
15 minutes per run, 130k per run I mean 520k per hour
not bad lmao
got a little too boring for me so im back to mining now but
that is true i never find laranite even to fill my freelancer max
yeah exactly, I could never fill mine even in 3.16 and its even worse in 3.17 and that was with a max
C2? good luck 😹
yeah i think ill just trade astantine
what vehicle are you using to mine @lofty trout
prospector ofc
im just a solo player so mole doesn't work for me as well
hey is anyone down to mine with me? using the prospector
im looking on the wiki at cargo ships to deliver my refined ores from mining, do i look at Cargo or Stowage?
stowage is what the refinery will show
so would the Hull A be a good pick to buy?
what does the hull A carry
it has 48k for stowage and 64 scu for cargo
so @lofty trout do you mine quantium, refine and put it in the c2, then sell?
The small and efficient MISC Hull A is the entry-level model in the Hull series. Featuring a retracting external cargo spindle and powerful engines, this ship has the largest cargo capacity in its size class. Care should be taken when traveling in low-security areas, however: the Hull A lacks significant offensive or defensive capabilities, with...
its one of the smallest cargo haulers but as long as your only willing to run 2 or a little more refinery runs at a time it will work fine for you
personal reccomendation is the freelancer or better the max
but that is your call
i can agree
they have less stowage tho
but i feel like the freelancer max is just a little bit too small to make that much profit
personally I used to store all my refined ore until I had a ton then I would have a "selling day" where I would rent a connie andromeda from crusader and sold it all in a couple runs, did that about 3 times then I just bought a C2 herc
good strat
right now i probaly have about 7k of refined ore to sell
that was my solution, but I get that may not appeal to a lot of people but i personally didn't want to spend money on a ship that was going to be a "in between" ship if you will
while I saved for the herc
the max is a very much confirmed by me a 'in between' ship
am i looking at the Cargo or stowage stats?
me and my friend are saving for the c2 by mining
cause the hull A has more stowage than the freelance and freelancer MAX
@plucky pollen freelancer costs about 1.6 mil, if you have 7k right now thats worth about 615,000$
what is stowage
ikd lol thats what i wanna find out
if you want a freelancer to haul, just buy a max
so if you really want to just flat out buy a ship get the Hull A but personal reccomendation is to honestly just leave it, leave what you have in the refinery build up more refined stuff and then go on a big selling spree and rent a connie from a planet
like which storage stat does the refined ore take up?
but you may not like that
thats what im probably gonna do
i was thinking id buy one when the ships go onsale in the pledge shop
the most ive spent on this game for ships comes to a grand total of $6
the connie can hold basically 3 refinery runs, each if you're doing the prospector at least
cause you either have to do the full refinery order or nothing
so 3 max
but shoot, I know it sounds a lot but you do like a dozen runs, few hours of work maybe less
and then you can afford a C2 and never have to stress again lmao
ez
do the bot commands work here
like 3 refinery runs of only quan or is that everything cause my refined stuff is kinda mixed together
Yeah I mine in the halo, purely quant. Never mine anything else and only ever in the prospector, I build up my stock until I can FULLY fill my C2 which hold 69600 Stowage worth and fly to Crusader from CRU L1 and sell, you make around 5 and a half million aEUC each run
im kinda broke ingame since i bought the gear to start mining the quantanium stuff i have about 50k
and crusader sucks to fly into but you only have to do it once every 2 days or so cause of this strat
so it works fine
what do you have rn?
a prospector?
or
well shoot son there you go! ezpz
the cargo or the stowage?
when you are moving from the refinery to a ship it gives you the stat in stowage terms
not SCU
ok
i havent delivered anything yet
i have 3 orders refined and they add up to about 7k
can you use the pros to deliver stuff or is it just for mining cause currently i dont have money to rent anything
like I said thats about 615k worth right now, personally would reccomend holding on to it for now and then go rent a connie when you have like at least 12+ orders to sell and have a selling day
and do that, your call in the end but smaller cargo haulers are decent investments for a temporary fix
especially the Hull A
even though its cool looking and new
so that 615k what ore is that
not super practical imo in quant mining
oh i forgot about that part
615k is if that was all quant
idk if thats what you mine or not
cause my stuff is like 50/50 mixed
what do you have other
5 and a half mil is more money than i can comprehend
haha yeah I did that a couple times and got into the 30 mil area then went and spent it all on dumb ships I liked LOL
so now im mining again in prep for fleet week
like maybe like 20% of it is quam and the other is just ore
to buy some limited edition ships
How long to fill the c2 with quantanium
yeah itll be quite a bit less then that then
about 2-3 days usually
…
thats if I really grinded though
playing more casually like I am now idk id say like 5 days to a week
you'll be zooming then
Epic
where do you goto mine at ive been doing on lyria but i havent been very lucky to get much rocks
hey try out my spot I posted about in here
tell me if you get good luck in that area
I do damar
Daymar*
curious if its just me or others will get it
ive just been going from arc l1 to lyria
How much does mining suck after 3.17?
Like, is it worth getting a Mole before next patch?
I mine in the halo, from CRU L1 to ARC L3, mostly because you are almost completely unbothered there, never once encountered a pirate mining yet while friends who mine on planets have told me otherwise, and alongside that CRU L1 has like a 3% extra refinery bonus from quantanium refining, doesn't sound like a lot but it REALLY adds up over time
is there any other ships that are classed as cargo ships that are good for delivering refined ore
can't speak for the mole life personally but im finding it just as easy if not easier to mine this patch
Why’s that?
sucks you have to get so close to astroids now but im finding quant astroids SO much quicker
personally
is the station pretty close?
ill picture it rq
i feel like when im on lyria i find 1 quant rock like every 10 -15 mins really annoying
and it will always be like under 5%
Ah okay! I’m choosing between a Mole and a Valk right now! Only considering a Mole if it makes decent money.. Can’t get both :(
Basically my route I fly from CRU L1 towards ARC L3 and then fall out of quant when my jump drive says im between 11,830,000-11,810,000 and then set my marker back for CRU L1 so it gives me a point of reference (space is disorientating) and so I can jump back quickly
in my roughly 3 days mining in this area ive found a worthwhile quant rock (28% or more) within my first 3-5 rocks and start mining
SUPER good area
if you want you can shoot me a DM and we can fly together sometime and ill show you the area, just to get you used to it
and ill give you a little cash to push your endeavors forward 😂
can you dm all of this ^ so i dont forget haha
I mean I love my prospector and I always will, ive tried solo mole mining and its not terrible but not my tea
mining is my absolute favorite though
bounty hunting is the most FUN but I hate how little im paid for my work LOL
mining gets me rich so I love it
anyone down to help me mine in a mole?
yeah I will
yea i really like it i ended up upgrading my starter 100i ship for the pros
alot better than doing the monitoring missions and bunker missions on repeat
I support this game but don't feel like shelling out that much for a video game Currently fleet week might change my mind LOL so I melted my avenger titan into originally a 300i I think it was? and then into a freelancer max, and when trading sucked so bad in 3.16 I melted again for a prospector and I think im gonna stick with it forever lmao
whenever there is a persistence wipe I immediately have access to one of the best money making ships in star citizen its great. just grind for a few days and I can buy all the worth while ships in game
lol thats alot of ships
works for me
when there is a wipe do you keep ships you have bought with irl money?
I guess that means I did spend money on the game considering I spent like 100$ to get to the prospector but 100$ isnt that much lmao
yeah yeah
you always keep those
in game ships get wiped though
and like everything else in game
they had one in 3.16, 3.17 we didn't get one so next one is probs 3.18 but who knows
maybe they wont
ill probaly buy the hull A during fleet week for the sale
or if one of the 3 new ships they add is a cargo or smt maybe ill get that
yeah hopefully, theres been talk of this like new drake ship as well that is a cargo hauler
that might come out during fleet week
forget the name though
ye ik what you mean
but personally im gonna get the scorpius no matter how expensive
seems like such a cool ship
LOL yea xwing gang
i also want to get the ares inferno but i could just buy that ingame too
holy shit your pfp just reminded me of something Ill DM you it to not post it in here
lol
gotta love when you find group of 6 hadanite

😭
Got 4 Quant Rocks with 163.08 SCU of Quant. Likely return is $932,818 aUEC with a Max of $1,435,104 aUEC. Selling for $139,923. Any Takers
Anybody want to buy this cluster off of me?
139,923 aUEC?
yes. I am selling its location for that
Oh I am not on rn so that’s a no for me
How much could a 2 man crewed mole make an hour on lyria?
about 100-200 aUEC per hour per Crewmen.
It really depends on how lucky you are at finding the rocks
If you had rocks lined up like we line them up, you can make way more.
That rock could be strip mined in about an hour to hour half.
and you could profit 900K-1.4 Mil
How much would you be able to make with the Argo Raft Hauling?
not sure.
https://sc-trade.tools/trade-routes?q=%257B%2522ship%2522:%2522RAFT%2522,%2522investment%2522:100000,%2522profitType%2522:%2522pure%2522%257D - think this is right.
whats the percentage of quantanium i should be looking for?
and the mass?
just found a load of rocks but unsure whats good
first time mining
usually anything above 20%
all im finding is 3-6 percent
Cargo hauling worth it in 3.17?
Are they active ones
If so it’s alt 1-3 depending on what slot it’s on
anyone want to go mining?
So with the new scanning and all that, is it worth it to get a Prospector for a bit of a break from BH?
hi! I am trying to sell a refined cargo from my rented prospector, but the trading terminal doesn't give me any source to chose from
Make sure you are correctly landed. Re-land if you have to.
Go into vehicle edit menu in your mobiglass and see if your Prospector can be edited. If it has a red lock, the game doesn't consider you as landed on the station.
Happened to me a couple times when trying to land closer to station entrance
Refined ore must be transported in a cargo ship. The Prospector has no cargo capacity, only space for raw mined ore
Where are you trying to sell? The prospector cant have refined cargo in it since it doesn’t have cargo space.
Wait, so do quant miners need a dedicated hauler?
I presume selling quant at the station isn't profitable
All ship miners need 1
Will a cutty cut it?
Anything with cargo will work. All depends how much you transport
Unrefined is worth half of what refined is
Full 32scu is worth 140. Refined 280k
So where do you haul the refined quant?
Major city TDD
Gotcha
Lorville A18 babbage, avoid orison lol
Best strat for a for rentals, mine as much as you can for the day, once its fully refined, rent a cutty and make multiple trips to deliver it
I own a cutty, I was thinking of getting a prospector to quant mine inbetween BH runs
really good investment
ROC mining is all right, but it's a lot of busywork constantly getting ROC in and out
I wish they made Hadanite deposites denser, if a bit rarer
Daymar or Aberdeen you can find big clusters
Maybe driving a ROC around a sizeable area to get it all, but getting full load in one go
Instead of constantly having to go in and out and fly around
Hell, maybe it'd make the dual seater actually viable
I have a dual. Still a hassle but for 2 people now
Where are good locations to mine
With what
prospector
Rental or owned
Owned
Equipped properly, Aron Halo or Lyria
What is the best equipment
Check this guide. Look for the prospector loadouts #industrial-professions message
Thx.
Where's a good place for the rental prospector?
ROC mining for Hadanite:
Is there a spawn distribution over the verse? Are some places better to fly around chance-wise or it doesn't matter at this point?
where can hadamite be sell?
And one more got cut off in HUR. Check uexcorp.space for all your cargo/mining/ship needs
Any trade screen, which city are you in?
everus harbor
Oh I ment places to mine with it. I can't break anything worth anything lol
Take the elevator to the Galleria and look for the Yellow Admin building
Daymar and Aberdeen have the best clusters
hadonite sells the same wherever, it cant be refined, so sell at the closest location
I always sell at the mining facility where i spawned my ROC
if you sell to a facility on the moon, you might have to drive up close to the building for it to be seen
what ships are required to mine? after refining I am not able to sell anything
You need to cargo haul the refined goods to a TDD at a major city
so mine at satellite, refine at L1, ferry to a major city and find a TDD to trade?
yes
shouldn't you be able to trade on the trading terminal at L1?
no, that would be too easy
you can sell the raw material there but its only worth half as much
ok so if I put my things in a rented freelancer at L1 I have to go to a major city now
yes, load up the freelancer and travel to Orison, Lorville, Area 18 or new babbage
if you are at Cru L1 I'd recommend going to Lorville over Orison anyway due to Orison taking forever to leave Atmo
Is it normal to not find ANYTHING to mine for miles or is it some kind of bug? Nothing was spawning, ended up leaving the Planet
Are you in a ROC? Where are you mining?
I was in Aberdeen scanning on the cutlass
Left to sell some stuff and now I'm heading back but spent 30 minutes scanning and nothing was popping up
Wow. That's wild, either really bad luck or a bug. Furthest I think I've gone without pinging a diamond mine is about 20km
On Aberdeen
Only other thing i can think is if you were too far above the surface the diamond sources couldn't be pinged
Hovering between 1k-2.5k altitude
Yeah, I guess we'll caulk that up to Alpha
XD
Mouse wheel while in scan mode, see if you angle somehow dropped to 2 degrees
Has anyone tried mining quant with a rented prospector in this patch? wondering if the new mining gadgets make it possible
Nope, 360°
so then yea, bug or just really bad luck
Doing my first mining after the update. Is there some new trick for scanning? I'm finding rocks but they don't seem to be scannable
Gotta get real close to scan
I have been. i have a rock like 84m away right now
Are you in scanning mode? I think default key is V
yes, and even with the mining head i can't highlight it
could be bad cluster or bad server, literally just encountered the same thing on Lyria
The Cutlass Black is the smallest ship for that role. The Freelancer MAX is the cheapest per SCU for entry level hauling. 120 SCU for 2.1M aUEC
Sad day... huge Hadanite deposit... on the mountainside. ;-;
@hollow sedge its still crap the stock laser on takes one gadget
hey would anyone be able to donate a little money ive started mining but its hard to pay for everything right now anything would help
@humble owl Halt illegal surveilance missions are an easy 20k.. finding crew members on a wreck is also an easy 10k for 5 minutes
how do i fix my roc that is "too hot"
Shut the laser down
And wait for the bar to go down
anyone know what refinery process is best for bexalite? im on arc L1
Ferron, always
High yield, slow speed, low cost
Or was it moderate cost, dunno
what is signature size? some modules have a modifier for it
Yah, Ferron is moderate cost
Dinyx is low cost
Yeah, but its very low speed
which takes 1 day and 8 hours for a full load of quant
Ferron costs a bit more but takes only 12 hours
But yeah, if you want absolute maximum profits use dinyx
I'd recommend ferron either way
The station isn't getting a single aUEC from me beyond what it must
Is what I'll say until my work orders get wiped in 3.17.1
I'm like @toxic citrus I chuck it into Ferron speed and away we go to the belt again.
I haven’t payed my roberts tax yet @toxic citrus
We must remove another finger then
you wouldnt dare
you out of digits already?
there's always toes left
When you run out of fingers we'll take your toes too
😳
We harvest your organs until you pay it
But if you harvest the critical organs, you won't have him there anymore to actually pay
Yeah, that's the flip side of the deal
organ harvesting? is this a new mining gameplay loop?
no its only if you dont pay your roberts tax
they already took all my fingers
Which this unfortunate fellow has not paid
im typing with my toes
Until now
the Dread Pirate Roberts?
yes, there will be gadgets available too soon™
imagine when cyber limbs come in and we can just snatch a guys robotic leg and take off with it
then sell it
imagine if you could just attach mechanical limbs to yourself to jump higher
can i use 3 moduels xtr xl ? they will stack up to +150% extraction rate ?
yes, they stack
what do i need to start with mining i had a prospector, but havent been on in a while, so not familiarized with all the changes
good news, you already have 90% of what you need 🙂
just look at the pinned guides for modules and other information
tyvm
So I have all my stuff for my prospector all the modules and everything but I have no idea how to mine where to go or what to do so anyway I can get help?
I'll give you the link for a playlist, it's very informative, was also recently updated, I suggest you see the introductory chapters and the one covering mining in a prospector, and the last one, chapter 12.
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLMd2J1iNJCMeRTQ6z3IryoICCKVwVCEdz
do active modules like surge and stampede recharge their uses at any point?
like when storing the ship or rearming?
Thanks
No, those modules are consumable, hence their price is lower than the passive ones.
don't worry, you can rent cutty black in refinery rent treminal
That can hold a good amount?
cutty black holds 46 scu, prospector is 32 scu, so more than 1 1/2 prospector worth of quant
Oh ok nice
just don't rent it right away, wait until you have you 1st quant batches refined, then do it, to maximize the rent time
Yea I guessed that
But how much profit would I lose renting it?
Which shops can I buy a Boremax on?
bm this page it's useful for many things
you read my mind I think
open the page linked above and search
thanks a lot
27k every day
Every time I wanna sell I mean
Like you said yourself, day rent for CB is 27.7k, since you're a starting rock breaker and you say manage to get 1-2 prospectors of quant in one day that will net you around 540k aEUC, minus the rental fee, you'll still have a healthy profit. Heck even with one prosp worth of quant you'll still make bank. Do the rental thing a few times, and you'll quickly make enough to buy your own cargo ship, perhaps one with even a larger capacity - Freelancer Max is popular for hauling refined stuff.
Why is it popular?
Such is the starting path of a newcomer to SC who chooses to tread upon the path of rock breaker. Patience and discipline are keys, especially when operating the laser.
not expensive and 120 scu, almost 4 prospectors worth of quant
Interesting
afk a bit, bm that page too, it's got a lot of info on ships and locations
Cool
is there any certain refining method i should be useing or just what ever is set as default
Ferron is good
Selling Big rock for mining 70k
tonight is my weekly mining operation! everyone gets a equal cut! no ship needed. 18+ dm me
if ya want info
10pm est!
just bought one thursday to help move all my refined quant from my prospector and mole, excellent transport ship
will the vulture be buyable in game when salvage T0 comes
Good buy, the MAX is a hidden gem. Plus if you ever want to change up and do some ROC mining (which is pretty good now), the MAX is the absolute best escort ship for the ROC.
Yes, after a patch or two
i know that much
All ships come available for in-game purchases, except a few specials
i meant the same update as salvage
Oh, defo not
Not seeing that, no
There is almost always a patch advantage for players that own the ship to fly and test it before everyone else can own one
Those who pay real dollars get early admission. That's the way it was for the ROC mining.
I still have my ROC, I don't even consider it an LTI token
Same here with my hover quad. i love that thing, it's so fun to use 😄
I did buy two of those to have an extra token though!!
Today in Aaron's Halo:
4 Trips, over 885K aUEC earned, avg about 220K per trip. A little low but good
Band Two was pretty awesome mining
That seems pretty low to the average you could find on lyria tbh
I don't do Lyria, not what I enjoy. The desolate Halo is Home
Fair
whats closest refinery to lyria? i have been only mining just outside of cru L4 and making runs to refinery back at arc L1. want to surface mine
I couldn't find any rocks in Band 1 over 10%. Finally hit some nice rocks in Band two
ARC-L1
k
I run CRU-L1, enjoy the 3% bonus
first rock yesterday was 32% on a 6000+ mass rock. havent found one with more than 2% today
That was me in Band 1, the dices would not roll nice for me
Later in Band 2, found 38% and a 47%
I fly into space wide forest or what ever its called and set qd to 14mill outside cru L4,
That's in Band 4
you're coming from outside to in from that direction. Might want to test Band 7 and see if you hit decent deposits (between 15.9 to 15.5 towards CRU-L4)
isn't band 5 the most dense?
Yes, by far
will check it out, pretty much my goal for today is to explore decent quant spots
Same, bummed I didn't break a Million in 4 trips but I did harvest a 15% that threw my ratio out the door
But it was a 125K rock for a quick turn around
Just my two aUEC: I've had some nice finds today in band 8 as well, not too dense, not many duds either.
My line of travel is from CRU-L1 to ARC-L3
Band 8 is maybe the same as Band 1, it use to be my go to happy place. I'm hoping it'll spin back up
Hey guys quick mining question. I'm looking at sc tools and they have Mt moons listed as the better place to pick up quantanium. However I regularly see people talk about Lyria as it would be better. Is there a reason for this?
Does anyone have the numbers on size and % of quantanium rock needed to fill a proc in one go?
If the MT moons have any available level of Quantainium it doesn't appear to come close to the levels found on Lyria. Some teams mine as much as 25million aUEC in an evening from Lyria.
It is both the size of the rock and the percentage. I had a 47% 4.9k ton asteroid that I had to leave quantainium behind. I think the 35 to 37% is the range. I can't find my copy of the chart with all the info
Is drug trading still bad?
drugz are bad m'kay?
Is there a website to find trading routes?
There's actually a good amount of quantanium there, but the wind makes mining really hard.
@tame bloom i think its called like sc trade tools
Do you mind explaining how to use it?
It's pretty intuitive, just hammer through some scenarios for trade or what not
https://sc-trade.tools/home
@north oyster hmm I assume you have mined in both locations? According to sc tools the probability or running into a Quant rock is considerably higher. I could also be interpreting the data incorrectly given very few people head out that way.
You'll have to excuse me if I'm coming off as a jerk I just don't get it.
It's like GaR mentioned earlier, the weather conditions on the moons around MT are just plain brutal. I've had my C2 get blown over on a pad there. I've mined most moons and MT over the years. I'm not much for surface mining any longer and mine almost exclusively in Aaron's Halo unless I am ROC mining on Aberdeen.
@north oyster ahh I somehow missed his comment! Oops. Thanks for the clarification. So it seems to boil down to a safety thing.
As for the weather I had tried on Clio once but as you mentioned the wind was a touch strong. Also at the time I had no clue how to properly mine... anyway the wind took me full afterburner away from the rock I was mining and slammed me into the ground lol.
Normally, if I mine it's on Aberdeen in a roc
Even landing doesn't help because of the winds. I had forgotten how bad it was until @mossy shuttle mentioned it
ROC mining has gotten some nice love in this patch. Also, do you know about using OM-1 when ROC mining?
How do i get to jumptown?
@north oyster I had heard some talk about it but generally I just fly straight north from Anderson
What does om1 do for ya?
If you dive down to the surface from OM-1 then it is always daylight there
@north oyster ahh that makes sense. Lol call me wierd though I like mining in the dark. Enjoy the extra surprise of the occasional death lol
the ping helps light up the landscape. Aberdeen has some of the blackest nights I have ever seen
guys im having bug where cant extract things
how do i get rid of scu storage apprantely its a fix
I have found that if you turn off your ROC, get out for a second and get back in, it will start working again. At least it did for me
Tyyyyyyyy!!
The trading console I am using at PRIVATE PROPERTY is not working
thank you
can u only carry one tupe of cargo in roc?
andhow can i empty roc pls
im trying to extract hadanite after aphorite
now i cant mine??
@sterile remnant you can empty the ROC in two ways. One, you drive it into your ship and hit I and transfer (one by one) the gems stored in the ROC to your ships’s inventory. The second, and more reasonable option, is to store your ROC at any mining facility pad (the small blue ones) and then sell the contents of your ROC at the storage facility (also located at any mining facility. Hope this helps.
is the storage facility at mining centre thought u have to go to admin
and can u only mine one type
is trading worth it right now?
@gaunt fiber
I never found trading to be worth the risk.
You’re really risking a lot of your money and counting on not being attacked by an NPC, another player, or the game bugging out.
I think cargo is relatively safe with the game, but depending on the other factors it can be really high risk with little reward.
I’d recommend against doing cargo hauls as a primary source of income. But if you want run some cargo because it fits within some other in game activity, it’s okay to do.
what is a good income source?
You can mine all three kinds of gemstones with the ROC. You can sell them all at the same time.
what is the best material for cargo hauling
Mining is a good source of income. ROC mining is pretty profitable right now.
Quantanium mining still is the most profitable in my opinion. It’s harder to find since 3.17, but it still can be around 200k (or more) per trip.
@inland walrus I think it’s Laranite.
But availability to purchase it can be pretty limited.
you want to do some mining?
Plus pirates love to camp out near known locations where it can be purchased.
How do I get started in mining? It’s my 2nd day playing.
mining on lyria and have lancet head but heard there are attachments to help, the stampede and another one but I forget what it was, anyone know? to make breaking the bigger rox easier
@west storm you’ll need a mining tool, a mining vehicle, or a mining ship.
Your options are the multipurpose tool, the ROC, a Prospector, or a Mole.
@gaunt fiber Ty
@high wren the attachments help with breaking and scooping. I like the Brandt module to help with stability, and you might want to pick up a Lifeline while you’re learning. That will help protect you when things go wrong with breaking a QT rock.
k, been mining a bit in space but this is first crack at it on lyria and these rox seem more dense
@inland walrus what kind of mining were you thinking? ROC, or QT?
QT
can we have more than one module on at a time?
@high wren lyria has some advantages. The Lancet mining laser lets you equip up to three modules. Some modules are passive and need no interaction, they just help you, most need to be activated to take affect.
got it, thx
On Lyria, if you spot two or more rocks next to one another, they will most likely be QT
Find pairs/clusters by (default bindings) using tab to scan and then , and . I think it is to limit and expand the angles. Pulse once at max angle then limit angle to minimum and look at the boxes that appeared and pulse again and you'll generally be able to see the rocks in that 'grouping' if there are more than one.
Here is a question to the miners out there that don't run solo.. How much do you pay your scouts? I've only had friends scout for me in the past to learn about mining(So just a few runs) and I normally toss them roughly half. Is there a more standard fee scouts charge? Or do people just go by whatever they can convince a new player to accept generally?
does anyone know the best way to find 20% or higher quant for prospectors? i was searching all over lyria and didnt find a single one over 20 percent
it was my first every prospector mine though, did i do something wrong?
I think Lyria quant got shadow-nerfed.
The Aaron Halo asteroid belt takes some effort to reach, as you can't select it on the map, but you can search out there for as long as you have food without worrying about pirates.
how muvh can u make per trip w the prospect thats what im saving for
250k-ish
Mining Quantanium, then Refining, then Selling.
But that's on a nearly-full load.
caterpillars are large frieght right?
Second only to the Hercules in capacity right now, IIRC.
do i have to buy storage moduals for it?
so i cant buy anything to make the storage biger?
No.
Looking to join a mining group
Is it worth getting a refinery ship to go alone with the Mole?
There really aren’t any details on how refining from a ship will work
Refining ship seems like it won't have a real use until Pyro is in game
Really will depend on how much faster it is compared to an actual refinery station. No cost involved either I would imagine. But they still need to implement saddlebag removal and transfer of raw ores
Would allow the mole to keep on mining instead of traveling back n forth
Pyro..?
Ah okay thanks
it's the next system to be put in game and is much bigger than Stanton. you won't be able to fly around as quickly/easily as Stanton now so having a personal refinery makes sense there
Going to need a whole fleet their basically. Refuel, medical, security. Fun times
can I get some general areas to find good deposits of hadanite and dolivine in MicroTech?
or is it just Scan, look for gem symbol, zoom in and check the vein colour and roll the RNG dice?
Fps mining or ROC mining?
Anyone wanna crew up? Got a mole and 3 empty slots
Is there a way to save your cargo from disappearing whenever the game crashes/you die?
Where is the trade depot in Port tressler? I thought it was in the cargo area
I could team up with you. It would be my first mining go though
Username?
It's Jake8pi. Did you want to get into a vc?
Where's a nice chill place to mine with a Mole for anything but Quantanium?
Preferably profitable obviously
Lyria
Close to ARC-L1, so it's quick for back and fourth
also just realized all the orbital stations are named for their respective planets
CRU L1, HUR L1, ARC L1
(Not quantanium)
then don't mine at all
lol xd
Never mind @ancient star
nothing else is really worth the effort as much as quant
I'll see what others have to say
With that being said, the aaron halo will be the best for mining
(Not quantanium)
yes
I don't wanna mine quantanium
Laranite
Where?
Actually, Bexalite is better - Aberdeen
Courtesy of Red Monster
I know the prices. I was hoping to hear from peoples personal experience though, where the best place to mine for other stuff than Quantanium
Above table of ore locations is built from mining experience
Yes true I guess
Aberdeen is richest, also has a lot of Hadanite
Thank you
Note that Hadanite sells for 275, that’s 3 times more than Quantanium. Just that it takes longer to find and mine because of occurring in small quantities
Oh wow true. Thank you
@subtle cradle old chart but about the only thing I've seen regarding other ores
How's the expanse supposed to work with another ship assuming the other ship belongs to another player how would you work the on board refiner to work with the other players ore that the mine
Neat charts! Definitely saving them so I know where to take the prospector
Be nicer if there was a list of places to avoid
What happens if I store my ship full of cargo and log off?
Don't quote me on it but it should be fine, especially if you store it at a station. Ship inventory should be persistant
But yeah I'm not super experienced in the game so maybe someone else can answer with more certainty lol
It stays in the ship
Remember to store it always
^
Then it should be 100% fine
You can also store rovers in your ship and they will persist there
Why cant i collect the gems mined on the floor?
Like im in extraction mode on the roc but nothing is being picked up?
Known issue
So how do you fix it?
Try this:
#industrial-professions message
The tool isnt even starting up now haah
are you sure you have your systems powered on?
Yep, ill send a video.
Here
Mining mode is on, clicking/holding left click
Hm, something really bugged out there. Have you mined anything already prior to this trouble?
I mean I have mined the previous hadenite, i have 6 in my storage.
I tried another deposit of gems and that didnt work
Well I suggest you travel to nearest mining otupost, sell what you have, then go to a station, store the ship. Log off and back again and then start your mining again.
ahh, alright. Ill try that, thanks!
Real pros and cons: starfarer vs starfarer gemini? Currently, not armor that don’t implement
Gemini packs guns
Constantly running into 6000+ mass Quant rocks. using a Lancet i obviously cant mine them, but is the helix worth getting or would the torrent 3 modules work ?
Since its the military variant
Buy a mining gadget
You don't need modules
which one ?
Waveshift is the way go imo
Lowers resistance
i dont seem to see anything about the waveshift on the PDF i have
^
BoreMax ain't bad either
https://finder.cstone.space/FPSMiningMods1/06be9c06-120f-46d8-8179-e95ccd1f137a
So just to clear this up as im sorta new
by lowering the resistance it allows me to mine bigger rock
Yes
yeah, that way the rock needs less power to crack, hence doable with only one lancet
Okay and assuming i can get the Res to 0 for say any rock whats the max mass the lancet can do ?
I was able to break down a 6.5k mass with only a lancet and a waveshift
Buuut
It took ages to crack open
Okay awesome thanks for the info, last question, is this image correct i thought only Lyria had Quant rocks, but looking at that it seems Calliope, clio and Euterpe are better?
yeah its the only place ive used cos i thought it was the only one 😛
where can i buy the waveshift?
got it thx
does somone know the hauling works again ?
yeah but i mean, last time there was a bug that my ship was not seen on the terminal (selling/Buying)
The outpost wont probably recognise ur ship
saaad
Mining facilities do though
thx
Depends on materials
A full cargo load of hadanite.
Thx
@toxic citrus i have AGRI best place to sell ?
Refined?
No purchased it like 4 days ago and still have it on my ship as a cargo
Him ?
Never mind haha
Can you even claim compensation because of crash?
haah no.
yep gave up on it for today haha, mining sucksss
im trying so hard
where do i sell gold in loreville
Refined or raw
raw i think
So sad, All Quant, none scannable
Then you don't
You gotta head to a refinery to sell raw materials
Yep, exactly why I mine on lyria
Shit's actually scannable
had some really bad luck last night on lyria, figured i'd change it up a bit this morning
made a few Mil in the halo already, usually only come here when my crew isnt on, otherwise we're all over lyria
tried lyria yesterday and a few of the quant rocks were 7000+ mass but I couldn't break them, even with stampede and brandt modules, should I be using different ones? I use Lancet mining head also.
Lancet + surges and waveshift
Ez pz
k, gonna get those and give it a try now
Lancet plus waveshift alone can wreck 6.5k
Waiiit
No
Not waveshift
Sabir is actually way better
-75% resistance
And yes same for the astroid belts. Lots of no scan rocks yesterday
Well you can compare them
Take either sabir or boremax
Those are the 2 with -75% resistance
Super helpful if ur solo
will grab both
Best mining areas in the verse ?
had a good spot going from arc L1 to cru L4 and pull out of qt about 14.4 mill km, but was having scan issues yesterday so tired lyria. a year ago, use to mine on daymar for lar and agr.
weres a good place to get cargo
What's better for prospect mining. Planets or aestroid belts etc?
nice ok thanks
Imo planets
A lot of rocks on belts are unscannable right now
Ok another question, i have a c2 Hercules and ariund 1 mil to spend on trading for a start
Where and what should i buy/sell
Band 2 in Halo is doing pretty good. 5 trips was about 1.1M aUEC earnings
Jack Axton has a good refresher course video on trade. It's a couple of months old but still valid
Is this a bug or so, why do i can’t find a button to turn on the mining cockpit in the front (mole) ?
M should work, not sure about the active interface option
Ok
it's hard to see, but it's there on the top
Ty
is there a way to see how much cargo is in my freelancer max from the cockpit?
probably the biggest quant rock I've seen yet
closest one was a bit under 8000 yesterday, but 40%
How can I start buying and selling illegal cargo??
Try to look for places that actually are able to detect your ship and as well in return are able to sell drugs to you
https://sc-trade.tools/home I'm trying to use this site to find routes, and it's suggesting what I assume is illegal cargo, but the place it's telling me to go have trading consoles that don't show as having anything available.
That's possible
Any websites can't track terminal stock in real time
No like not that they out of stock, they don't show that they even can sell/buy something to/from me.
Is my game just messed up??
No
What planet are you on right now?
If you are on crusader try going to the place called "private property"
And see if you can buy Neon there
Said place is on Yela
If you are able to buy it, you can sell it to grim hex for profit
It was reccomending Yela and Daymar anyway, so I'll head there.
I just wanna ship whatever will make me the most. lol
A lot of the obscure names are often drug labs
Where you can buy stuff if they are able to detect your ship
Of course Neon isnt the only drug
There's SLAM, E'tam, maze
And maybe some others i dont remember
The most recommended one from the site is Altruciatoxin from jumptown to grimhex.
At least with my 120k UEC and nomad.
After that is Nuen Waste Management, but I couldn't find jumptown and nuen waste management is just a blank terminal.
Anyone has any idea how I can land in New Babbage? 🙂 Im getting no marker and the hangars arent opening. Forever bugged
Fly out of the planet
Go back and hail through the f11 commlink
If it says proceed, then a bay IS open
If not your server is 30k'ing
Just gotta find it otherwise
I went to the 'private property' on Cellin and got shot at by a ship which I can't tell if it was an NPC or player.
Most likely npc
Bounties sometimes spawn above those
Was fastest ert I did when it spawned above my head
Lol
Shiieet forgot about those guys
Yeah jumptown is an unmarked area
You will need to get a guide video on how to get there
what is the best trade route with a budget of 1 mil and a c2 hercules, because laranite is always out of stock
Afaik the main trade loop for making profit with a C2 would be Arial to Lorville trading Titanium and buying Laranite as it is available.
hmm, but the thing is i noticed that lorville doesnt accpet laranite or titanium
i always have to take a long flight to area 18 because the trading terminal doesnt buy any of that stuff
is that normal?
Some sites for some reason aren't detecting ships. A lot of the scrap yards are currently doing that.
Yeah, for scrap yards that's true
It's true for a few others too but I forget what they were
Damnit
I may need to just get someone in-game with me to show me some good trade routes.
What ship are you running
Nomad
Like the demand is filled from other players? I started out 3.17 doing the Arial to Lorville route.
Honestly you're best thing profit wise with that ship is to run delivery contracts
Send me a DM and sometime later all show you a few routes I run in my Connie Taurus
Those feel like they take longer for about the same profit as an Arial to Lorville run for me tho??
They should get better pay as you improve your relationship with the contractor
Oh??
It's always just 8k for three boxes, and not really worth the time compared to the Ar-Lor cargo run.
At least for me.
That's fair. I run a larger ship so my profit margins are a little better. I've heard talk of like 40k or something wild like that.
Vice (like the rest of trade) isn't in a great place atm. The main challenge isn't buying it but rather selling. The purchase rates are dismal when you're trying to unload it
I just want a good source of income, and I was hoping cargo hauling would be a good one.
Nope
Cargo is definitely not the money maker rn
I'm really hoping 3.18 will change drug running too
Since cargo needs to be moved physically
So you could buy cargo at any place and then move it to the ship urself
Was wandering through the asteroid belt yesterday trying to locate a rock with a decent load of Quantinium, couldn't find anything with more than 2%
Some rocks we found were unscanable
Yeah, that's what the belt feels like to me as well
I switched pretty fast to lyria
What am I doing wrong?
Is ground mining worth it? Like mining by hand
Hmmm perhaps I'll need to do the same
Nah
ROC is
Hand mining, na
Would it be challenging to mine Lyria with a Mole?
How is that going to work say you stop by one of the mine place by Connie full of laranite
Are you just going to have to hand load it all
Depends which connie
Taurus has the tractor beam
We don't know exactly how its gonna work
But manual loading will be included one way or another
Hey guys what do you need to mine? Went to Wala and it had a lot of rocks
Prospector, hand tool or ROC
Hand tool being the cheapest, prospector is the more expensive option
dont forget the argo mole (:
Speaking of the mole. In about an hour, give or take, I'll be hopping on and I need a crew and a scout.
DM if you're interested.
Disagree. Prospector is def meta for solo but solo mole is viable and still fun if you don't mind running back and forth (imo).
Mole gets annoying when you have to run back and forth
and if you can't take all the quant in one rock you can leave a box there and go back
So personally i don't see the need for a Mole as a solo player
Just saying it isn't for you doesn't make it shit is my point.
There
How do you get a cargo box
You can buy 1/8 SCU boxes in cargo stations/decks I believe
Dumpers Depot usually has them too possibly
But if you put some items in your ships inventory then blow said ship up, it will spawn a larger box
Suck that you can't get a 1 scu box yet
You can get it by blowing your ship up. Just put a backpack inside.
You can also get a 2 SCU box by filling it up enough to warrant one
Put a pembroke undersuit for a big box
Does anyone know anything about ROC minging? I have loads of questions
Like i said, just put em here
- I get how
- i could use the best planet
- how do i sell and transport all of the stuffs
Aberdeen is a good planet for mining, and you transport the gems in the ROC
And sell them on a mining outpost
HDMS-Anderson
Oh, im dumb haha
well thank you! time to throw the roc in my C2 and hunt
You'll need the Pembroke armor set also
haah, learned the hard way yesterday
before i jump on Tarkov, if theres any mining expeditions going out that need fuel , lemme know 🙂
Also, i want to mine purple rocks, then blue, then green right?
yes in that order
Yep
Hello, so my ROC mining and extraction wont fire. Does anyone know how to fix this?
i got it to work. I swore at it and it started working ahha
"How to be a mechanic: Step one" lmfao
is anyone else having issue mining today? i have a prospector that the mining laser and such will not activate, and any quant rocks we find are not scanng, either in a prospector or a mole
what are some places on arial that i can get cargo at
Any HDMS-xxxxxxx places
HDSF are security bunkers
what about titanium
HDMS
Check out SC trader. It will give you a good idea of where to buy what
ok
Avoid salvage yards because they currently don't detect ships
If you do buy scrap you can sell it at I believe CRU-L5. It may actually be HUR-L5. One of those two
im selling at microtech because thats giving me a lot
how come when im mining the rocks will explode even tho im i have been in the green the whole time and when they are explode they disable my ship, my engines will still work but i will have no power and when i try to move it ship it doesnt move even tho the engines are on
so no one else having mining issues ? i tried us and eu servers in my prospector, not matter what i can't use the laser
nop
anybody know why the MISC prospector 3-day rent price is 966k? which is the 30 day rent price, plz @ me when one of yall respond. Thanks!
is there a log for mo.Trader to see what was sent?
try save for one bro
go to om-1, then fly downwards, youll then be on the north pole of daymar where people dont tend to visit as its far away from everything, found some good hadanite veins, like 8 - 13, craters and near mountains are the best places, and valleys
best ship under 1.5?
what do you reckon is the aUEC/hr on ROC mining
if ur unlucky and only find 3 veins, 80k an hour, but if you got luck, 140k
Depends on your transport ship, where you are, and how much you're willing to risk
You're welcome to DM me and I can explain a bit better.
i got around 100k with a cutlass black on daymar
Aberdeen is the best place for hadanite. If you're willing to take the risk of a 30k, you can fill it up and make 250k. It also depends on which ROC you have. The DS I think has a bit more cargo room, I could be wrong though
idk which i got, just rented one
aberdeen is going to require a little more than just a beacon undersuit isn't it
Yeah
Is prospecter mining worth it?
It can be
