I filled up the rental prospector, the load was sold for 33k, after 22hours refining, so isnt so bad, lyria have alot of the good stuff, easy to break stones with decent good amount laranite ect, if you want, you can easily mine for over 100k per hour with the rental, and its ALOT better than searching for roc stones 🙂

I'd always suggest taking the rental over to Yela or Cellin for Laranite, since you're kinda limited with what you can slap on a rental. Theres also no clicking time bomb to worry about either.

Sure, I'll be glad to. Keep in mind that all my calculation are when doing a QT jump from CRU-L1 to ARC-L3. I've not plotted the locations of the distances to the Belt bands of the Halo.

The halo seemed to maybe have shifted a little from the last patch. The outer edge appears to be closer in, but I have also found that there are sparse areas and then also heavily dense areas (as to asteroids, not necessarily deposits)

At 12.69M Km I found some Quan but another time the area seemed like empty space. Not sure why the difference.

Between 12.69M to 12.487M Km there were pretty good hits on average

12.4M to 12.3M Km seem pretty bad and didn't have good hits.

Then I jumped to the outer ring and started working that area. This actually give me some great hits. From 11.6M Km to 11.454M Km was excellent. At 11,454,400M Km there were tons of Quan with clusters of 6 to 8 asteroid groupings showing up. The health of the server is critical here as often this can end up "un-scannable"

11.353M Km was awful with zero Quantainium in the area. I jumped back to about 11.4 from ARC-L3 and had much better success.

For me the "sweet spot" has been 11.5M to 11.4M Km from ARC-L3

If you are searching and Quantainium doesn't seem to be showing up, go ahead and jump about 50M Km to 100M Km to another spot. Also if it seems most of the asteroids are not scanning, do a jump of about 20M Km and try again.

Most all your Refinery stores have them, also Port Olisar is good for parts too.

Of course the manufactured scarcity of components is irritating. Like the fact that you can't buy the Surge at CRU-L1 but you can at Port Olisar. So you can take a ship, go buy the consumables at PO, load them on your ship, fly to CRU-L1 and off load them into the station's inventory.

I found that when I'm in an area of getting dud scans, that if I jump about 20K, the scans clean up. I have also found (from CRU-L1 to ARC-L3) that 11.5M to 11.4M Km is a pretty sweet spot for Quantainium.

Anyone else feel like something was done to the % of Quant in the rocks that spawn on Lyria overnight? Last night i was finding 48%-50% left and right. I found soooo much that i now own a Mole. Now i come back (tryed two servers) and i cannot find a single rock in the double %% range.......

Like it is SUCh a noticeable change that there is no way this could have been a coincidence. Spent atleast 5 hours searching so far.

At first i though maybe prospectors are scoopin a lot, but i still find rocks that are less then 3K mass that have high double digit %'s that would be a waste of time for my mole.

I cannot help but think something was done over night. It's such a prolific change from what i was getting last night to now, that i cannot help but think something had to have happened. I have not found a single rock above 4k mass that was above 30%...

Before tonight. I used to go to Lyria. Travel 1-2KM above the surface. Point west or east, just make sure to not deviate from that direction unless you spot some. YOu want to be looking for ONLY groups of 2 or more rocks directly next to each other. In a mole, i travel about 300m/s which gives my air brakes time to stop me if i see a group.

No need to ping constantly as they will show up only when your within 6-5km of them regardless. Use the ping for when your on the night side so you don't kiss the side of a mountain 😄

The quality of rocks you want to bother with are (in a mole mind you) any rock that is rouchly 6-7k mass and about 40%ish. If you can get a couple next to each other with 20-40% each then that is even better.

Make sure you have the proper lasers and modules. Tho modules can vary to a good degree.

YEah, mole can do 6-7k with proper modules and technique. Even a prospector can do 6700 mass ones with proper module timing, tho i don't recommend it lol.

Last night is hauled 13 work orders. Each order was no less then 90% quant.... That is why i think something is wrong.

Can anyone confirm whether refining times have changed for Ferron? I use a site to keep track of work orders and it also gives how long it will take as well. Yesterday the site was spot on for them. Today tho, i noticed that a load of 3888 Quantanium is taking 20 hours to refine. I can look at my previous work orders and that would have only been roughly 12 hours or so.

YOu should STILL have your ship. Whether or not you Alt f4. It automatically stores the ship at the station you just left. Happens to me several times a day. Lot's of my corpses floating outside of Arc-L1 lol. But it stored the ship each time.

Ummm most things need to be sold at a TDD on any of the main planets. There is no offical market for player to player trades so the station buys your stuff.

Usually best to refine most things at any L1 station. But Agricium is worth very little.

I would get something bigger than the Cutty for Quant/Trading, it works as a entry level stop gap but you can't even carry 2 full Prospector loads. It'll be something you end up upgrading out of quickly.
Freelancer Max would be the cheapest cargo ship with good scu space (120 scu)

Hey all, I have some materials refining at the moment. When the job is done can I partially pick up one job over multiple trips? Want to use a smaller ship to transport to avoid paying the rental cost if possible. Worried I might lose the rest of the refined goods though.

So unfortunatly, you cant yet break a refinery deal down into smaller chunks, meaning is you have a full prospector, i.e. 32SCU of refined goods, you will need a cargo ship with >= 32SCU storage

Any cargo that isn't loaded will just be deleted

I used the credits I got from XT mainly to buy a prospector. I did two runs of Bexalite last night as way of learning the ropes.

Going to need a new mining laser I think, the 5k rocks took forever, even trying with some of the modules

The stock laser on a Prospector is basically the equivalent of a wimpy water pistol

I reccomend setting yourself up with 160k and getting a Lancet I with 2x Reiger C3s and 1x VauxC3, heading out to the Aaron Halo between CRU-L1 & ARC-L3, mine some quant and get it refined at CRU-L1

Just to follow up, the Lancet offers a much larger "Green Zone" to charge the rock. The Helix, while the most powerful, has been nerfed with response delays and also a much smaller safe charge zone. I use to use the Helix exclusively until the changes that made the Lancet meta for Quantainium mining.

ROC mining is challenged at this time, CIG tanked it when 3.14 came out and haven't looked back. The main issue is the Ping and finding deposits but now the deposits are often clipped into boulders or below the surface. ROC mining needs a lot of love currently.

I have pulled 8 full refinery jobs from select areas. Also, another tip, if you hit a spot with a lot of dud asteroids that don't scan, jump about 20K and try again.

I would recommend you keep a log of the areas you drop into and the results

Nothing's really wrong with it. But it comes with limitations, like unable to swap components. You wont be able to mine quant fairly easily, however Laranite and bexalite should still be on the menu

You cna find both on Lyria, but I'd sggest Yela for Laranite, but that's just my opinion.

To the Mole owners. I noticed a bug when adding modules, when I put a surge in first utility slot, stampede in second and whatever in third it does not end up In that order when I want to use them. And since the UI is bugged, you can't really see in such slot they are. Gotta waste 1 charge of each module to know which is which.

Scanning asteroids is a server issue. You can do a jump of about 20,000Km and scan again, if it is still a dud, then the server is messed up

You can crack up to 5120 mass solo with a Lancet without modules, just takes a while and you need to move
the laser around. I cracked a 7.5k mass rock in the prospector with double surge and optimum modules

I mine in the belt almost exclusively, anything but the Lancet is optional but like you mention the Surge saves time. I keep two slots filled with the Surge consumable and one slot with Stampede, though I hard ever use the stampede

You can rent a cutlass black and a roc for about 30k iirc at any refinery station (eg hur L1, cru L1). The roc is a comfortable fit if you do anything but ramming it in at full speed ^^

If you're feeling extra cheesy you can log out in your cutlass with the roc in the cargo hold in space around the moon you want to mine at. Everything will be saved and you save yourself a rent and a trip. No guarantee that it'll work every time though.

Also even though Aberdeen and Arial have the best Hadanite probabilities, Daymar lacks these stupid deposits where the mining rocks spawn covered with stone.

1. personally, better QD (I found voyage to have really good speed and range) and better mining head (lancet MH1). Don't start sucking up until you've cracked all you want to crack. Have your destination already selected in the starmap.

Yeah it’s tough out there at times. A pair of rocks is the minimum I’ll go investigate. Then at least you are pretty sure it’s got quant but still the % can be low. The dream find is a cluster of several rocks. Then it’s surely quant and you will find one at least with good yield. This is my experience anyway (I’m a relative newbie)

Has anyone lost cargo recently due to a 30 K or crash? I mining about 90 SCU of Quant a day and I’m thinking about picking up a C2 to make my trips to sell less often. My constellation can only fit one days worth and I hate flying to area 18 or any of the big cities

you can rent a freelancer at the cargo floor at the regular space stations. it's slightly more expensive than the cutty you find at the lagrange stations, but its worth it, 66scu of cargo.. so if you fill that bad boy up with multiple quant orders you can make around 500k with one trip. Tho word of advice the fact that it is a freelancer makes it a target for pirates, because its a dead giveaway you're doing a cargo run in that thing. So be careful of the players in your server if you do end up renting a freelancer. Also a bit unrelated but a nice routine i have is setting spawn to ARC-L1 going to lyria searching for quant planetside and coming back to ARC-L1

When you are scanning for rocks (using your V scan, not talking about mining mode scan) you will see on the left side an RS number. 5000 is one rock, 10000 is two rocks so on and so forth. You want to be looking for something that is more than one rock because quant spawns in groups a lot. Usually when I find a good rock it’s in a group of 3 or more but sometimes in pairs

Before the last couple days it was usually duo's or threes. Not sure if something changed or just my luck...

I should also mention I find it helpful to stay flying towards a single point. I jump from cru l1 to arc l3( I think that’s the one). When I drop I continue to fly towards that marker and set me scanner to 180 degrees. This keeps me from doubling back

its guaranteed to be quantanium if u find a signature of 10k and over

on lyria at least

I usually do CRU L1 to ARC L5, but same thing, keep pointed at waypoint

I’ve not found that to be true. Lots of times it’s two rocks that really aren’t that close together but show up as a 10k sig. I did not like mining on Lyria

I come from mining on elite dangerous and it was all flying in asteroid belts so it’s more my jam. Lyria felt spread out and a bunch of giant low yield rocks

I did two surges and a stampede which was cool to break big boys but a pain dealing with high instability fragments without a Brandt

tbh ill be searching for like 3 hours sometimes in the halo and not be able to find a rock over 20%, im able to find 38% 5ks on lyria in like 30 mins

I don’t think I’ve tried L5 I think I fly to L3. I’m not on right now to check

It’s interesting how we all have different experiences. I’ve made 6 million this week alone mining and my longest trip finding a rock was maybe 20 minutes. It’s like the RNG wants us to do something different haha
