For the love of all that is good, please let hand-minables stack ;~; A friend and I were ROC mining together, and while I was flying from deposit to deposit, she was moving rocks onto the ship so we could maximize our haul, right? Then we get there... I can't access her inventory on my ship, and she can't sell her inventory from my ship, and she is now moving all the hadanite BACK from the ship to the ROC again, one at a time. Lesson learned...

Generally the only logical choices of the Hercules series are the A2 or C2

ROC mining "works" but is but a shadow of what it was before 3.14 destruction

I have found that when some of the deposits are inside another rock if you can get a laser on it the gems will pop out on the surface when you crack it

The oversaturation of C2s though has made hauling a lot less enjoyable as it's very difficult to find a full load of commodities now for a C2. You usually have to jump 2-3 stations to load up, which takes time and costs a lot of fuel. I'm kind of hoping the excitement dies down after the subscriber perks go away.

All you need is 2x surge and optimum, or surge, stampede and optimum...just bear in mind that stampede and optimum does not stack

Otimum lasts 20 seconds, so fire it again before it runs out to stay in the green long enough

It actually even changed the outer ring edge of the asteroid belt about 700K Km (best I can tell, I might be off). Now I am finding Quan at 12.6 to 12.5. I still need to scout other zones, but I haven't had the time

The Lancet offers the best in class Green Zone. What you want to do is get a slide to control the laser. I use the slide control on my joystick

Hey everyone, my friend and I have been enjoying the game for a few days now and are starting to get into mining. We rented a Cutlass Black and a Roc to go mining on surface and were amazed by the money we were making instead of the usual delivery missions we did. Now we had a question, we found that it took a really long time and 1 person always was doing nothing. We could fit 2 ROC in a cutlass black but it was a really tight fit. Is there any ship you guys would recommend to rent for us to mine with 2 people? Or maybe any other suggestions are welcome too. Thanks ❤️

If your set on taking two rocks, a slightly bigger ship like the Freelancer series (preferably the MAX) would likely be your best choice, as you could also use to haul normal cargo as well

We looked into that too yes, the freelancer max was on our list for purchase. Only sad thing is that we aren't able to rent the MAX version. What would u suggest in the meantime while we save up to buy it?

Lets be honest, unless you get stuck outside, you wont really need the interior cockpit of the ROC-DS, so it's extra size doesn't really make much sense, especially if you can both use normal ROCs

Just be aware, ROCs currently have a use lifetime of approx. 2 hours, so if you think your getting to around 1hr 30 of active use, I would recommend going and selling your goods, ditching the ROCs, claiming them and pulling out some brand new ones

I mine on Lyria and I had been scanning and flying from spot to spot at about 250, recently I watched a video of a guy that went full speed until clusters popped up, I started doing that (a bit slower than max), but I have been having more luck and more fun the second way, how do you all fly for solo prospector mining?

you buy the FL MIS because you want a missile boat, not more, nothing less. The 36 SCU of cargo can work for a refinery hauler, one load per trip (maximum). Don't use the words "Trading" and "freelancer mis" in the same sentence, LOL

One thing is to have the buddy go scout for more gems while the other mines the hadanite you have found. You can do this in two ships (maybe best scenario) or go scout with the one ship while the ROC is mining. The issue if finding the deposit. One thing is to have a box from a delivery mission that you can leave with the deposit you found.

Ah! ok, it will carry one Prospector refined trip without loss, so it should work just fine. The Prospector is what will fuel you future goals in SC. So you'll earn enough to buy any ship you want and when you want it.

Congratulations!! I love the MAX. If you ever get into ROC mining, you will find that it is the best ship out there for that role. Also with the Prospector scanning, since the returns pop up almost 15K away, going faster isn't an issue. I would do the visit to Orison as a tourist, not combine it with your refinery run. You don't want to fly blind into that area when you have cash at risk. If you do, you don't have to use the same ship you arrived with to leave. You can claim one of your smaller, faster ships and then fly to PO and pull the larger ship to continue on your way.

I'm planning a trip to Orison sometime. I did upgrade my video card to the RX 6500 XT. It is lite on ram but not a bad card and certainly way improved over my 4 yr old card I was using. Previously Orison was a slideshow and killed my computer. Now it might be a "better than a slideshow" when I try again.

Titanium at Hombolt is good. Occasionally you can find Astatine (full load) from Woodruf (and/or Ryder) on Ita to CBD on Lorville

Correct, if you can't pull your inventory from the ROC while in the ship, take it out. The best place to try to do this is at an outpost. If you do it at a space station it will get impounded. I think you can still sell from it then, though. Also, remember to relaim your ROC after about 1.5 to 2 hours of usage. Components fails on her pretty quickly

for small trades look at doing Chlorine and Flourine

You can run those on the same moon, so it is a short hop and decent margin BUT not a lot of earnings

On Yela you can run from Arcorp 157 to Deacon.

After that, look at Titanium - Both places on Aria and Humbolt on Lyria

And if someone says "laranite" you can only buy scraps of that. You can buy a little, so grab it if you want but you will not fill up a nomad with the supply of Laranite, it ain't coming back if CIG has anything to say about it.

On so many levels, yes

Basically, when you log out, it sets your bed as your respawn location when you load back in, and then despawns your ship. However, bed logging in the hanger will set the bed as your respawn and log you out. Then, the game realises that you aren't in the server anymore and your ship is in a hanger, so will kindly store it for you

By doing so, it means that your bed is currently not available to log back into, so it just drops you out in the middle of the verse

More is caught than taught. Do you have a Prospector (or MOLE) yet? With a rental you will be hard pressed to earn but it does work. You will want to mine in Aaron's Halo because you can break larger rocks there than you can on the surface with the rental Prospector.

been flying around for hours today and yesterday post-patch and cant find shit. Every now and then I'll catch a nice cluster of 5 - 9 rocks, and ONE will be 20-30%, the rest are all 2%. Out of 9 rocks - that never used to be the case.

For regular mining, a Helix I/II will cut it for just about everything even without modules. For quant, I like to use Lancet I/II with 2x Reiger C3 and 1x Vaux C3
