You want to fly as close to the ground as you safely can and ping constantly. The deposits you are looking for only show under 1.3km

Laranite, Agricium and Bexalite all break pretty good. Borase and Hephaestanite break like garbage and not worth the time (imo)

As others have mentioned, this was based off of the PTU, that is always the case with the PTU. It would be nice if it would be that way with LIVE but that is rarely the case.

I have seen (rarely) some nice Laranite asteroids. Sadly, anything under agricium is not worth mining. If we could find some nice Bexalite rocks, that would be about half of the return you get from Quantainium

The PING is really the biggest issue to me. A little history, the way the ping performs was listed as a known issue all through 3.14 while it was in the PTU as a problem. Just before rolling 3.14 to live, they just flipped that to "works as designed" crap. I guess they wanted to be like Microsoft for a moment, not sure. IF we could turn off the large deposit returns and could focus on the gem deposits only, then it wouldn't be so bad. Not great by a long shot but not bad either. The old 2000 meter range would be the best for this issue

The lion share of the development of this game is being done in EU and also CIG has dedicated servers in Europe. I don't know the numbers but I'm will to bet that outside the US, the percentage of players is closer to 50% of the total players than it is to zero.

Change to laser repeaters, fixed or gimballed. Only stay with the cannons if you think you think you'll only be staying to fight other big ships. Shields to FR-86 military. QT drive to TS-2 or some in-between QT drive that's not nearly as slow.

save space.. Corpses don't count towards the ship inventory..so once you then arrive at grim hex for example you can loot those corpses directly into the grim hex local inventory

New to SC from elite. Decided to rent a Roc and cutlass yesterday. Made one run where I could only find Devinine or whatever it’s called. On my second run I found all hadinite and was scooping up the last bit I needed to fill the rock. Got a 30k and when I came back my roc was stored on planet but I was at station. Got my cutti and went back to the planet to get the roc. It was all empty. Tried selling at the station and on planet with no luck. Any way to protect my cargo from a 30k in the future? This game has so many iterations with updates it’s hard to find reliable info

if you can't mine then try another source of money. mining is very difficult without any knowledge but bounties are pretty easy and so are delivery missions.

Technically, yes. The larger variants of a mining head don't really output much more power, they tend to just have a larger distance they can be from the rock and remain at optimal distance

Yes, the Connie is not too bad solo or multi-crew. It can do PvE battle and prevail against most except a swarm of smaller ships. It's definately the best/safest mid rang hauler. I'm very much function over form so I prefer it to a 600i for multiple reasons.

I’ve had two 30ks that I lost everything but what was in my ship. One was while mining the other I was on the pad trying to open my gate. The roc was empty. When I woke up both times I walked about 15 steps and then my character died leaving my suit in the middle of Everus harbor . So in one day I’ve lost probably 300-400k of loot and two complete pembroke armor sets
I think next time I will quit the game and reopen before spawning again to try and save my suit

Depends what your mining with and what your loadout is on the miner. I personally mine on Lyria and am able to mine around 4-5K rocks fairly easily but if you just mine stock without any modules you might struggle a bit there. Most of the rocks on Lyria is more suited for a Mole but in a prospector you can get very sweet rocks, I regularly get 32/32 scu's from there off of 1 rock

Humbolt for Titanium and Gold. Or Woodruff for Astatine. I was able to get a full load Astatine in a C2 and cleared over 100K at the TDD. This doesn't always happen. Both locations on Ita offer good production.

big rocks on Lyria and it has a lot of mining going on. You may also want to look at mining in Aaron's Halo. I mine exclusively in the Belt. No marauders, no weather or gravity, and all the rocks are 5.1K or smaller, so no need to special attachments on the Lancet laserhead.

Mining in the asteroid belt is pretty mellow and can payoff in a bit way with Quantanium. You rarely have to deal with pirates etc out there. Lots of great info on how to find sections of the belt. Planets are great but you have other factors like wind & a higher presence of other players & lately NPC players that can attack you. Lyria Quantanium if you're dialed with mining or you can look for Bexalite for a more mellow experience.

My condensed "guide" to do this, From CRU-L1 jump towards ARC-L3. At approx 11.5M to 11.3M Km, kill the QT jump. First thing is map your QT back to CRU-L1 station. You can use this as a reference point for running and scanning.
If you drop out QT at 12M to 12.5M, I haven't found hardly any Quantainium rocks in that area. But others have had good success. Just try to make a mental note of where you drop out if you happen to find a lot of high % Quan asteroids

No, I wouldn't. You can stack as many refinery jobs as you wish then rent an FL or cutty to take them to market

Yes, Stack your refinery jobs AFTER THE NEW LIVE BUILD DROPS and then rent a cutty to take them to the TDD.
Prospector is what earns you best coin than a C2. You can make upto 275K aUEC per trip with the Prospector but trading requires funds and offers a much lower rate of return.
I can risk 530K upfront in the C2 to earn about 100K IF the commodities are available.

A cutty with two Prospector loads (roughly) will bring in about 500K per trip to market. Even if only one trip to the TDD of one load, that's still about 250K aUEC

or you can have them run spotters and go seek the rocks ahead of you. That has worked pretty good for me

tru dat, I mine in the Belt so I don't have that issue. 5.1K is about the max there. Finding 30-40% there means a full Prop on the way to the refinery

I start at CRU-L1 and aim for ARC-L3. At or near 11.5M Km to about 11.3M Km I kill the QT jump.
CRU-L1 also offers a 3% Quantainium refining bonus

I'd recommend once you are in the belt, to first thing map your return to CRU-L1 station to save time. Most of the time I am on the pad and ship stowed before the first beep of the alarm.

Yup. Almost everything is kept except mini g heads, consumables and mining modules. On the plus side, everything you have bought/stored in a local inventory is now in your home residence
