That's fair. I don't know how other games do it. But at the end of the day it's possible, I showed you which control to use, and do it all the time for landing in those bays you seemed to find difficult. Maybe this game isn't for you if pushing a button to look in a direction is so upsetting.
Wow lol. If anything in this game was upsetting to me, I wouldn't have been playing for years now. All I'm saying is the way they've done it in this is unnecessarily complicated. It's probably fine if you're just using m/k, but sticks is a bit more involved than that. The solution is already right there and halfway implemented, they just need to make it work.
What happened inhere? This community used to be so helpful
Probably just got lost in the conversation. Happens sometimes. IIRC the passive modules do stack, but I couldn't say that as fact, the last time I mined was a year or more ago. Things may have changed.
Yeah I know. It just helps being dramatic to get attention and answers to questions sometimes lol.
@worthy scroll thanks bro, I've bought 3 Torrent III modules now and will test it out
Back when I mined I used three of the ones that filter out inert, and they all worked together.
It's gonna be 120k lost if I blow up, but I just had to give up on a 7200mass 45% quant rock and it made me sad
I use sticks and have set up my freelook button to toggle. It's pretty much permanently in that mode for me and I use a directional hat to look around. Tapping the toggle button recentres if I need to
Ooh, how do you have it set as a toggle?
It didn't seem to stack. I couldn't even crack a 6200 quantanium rock with 3 torrent III modules sadly.
Ah dang.
Well, I was going off old info, so I wasn't sure if it still worked like that.
Yeah i don't understand how it works tbh. Others seems to be able to crack most planetary rocks with their prospectors according to themselves
Yeah you made that clear. I just figured I'd try it and take one for the team.
It's all good though, I can just use them one at the time
I've been messing around with the hold to look, but in the Raft it really doesn't help much since you can't see below you while in cockpit view. Instead I'm just sort of rocking the ship back and forth so I can see how close I am in front of me.
Which is a slight chore in the Raft since she's about as maneuverable as an obese elephant 🤣
Yeah you definitely need to be able to line up the ship and then go to third person freelook for anything as thicc or thiccer than a Raft when landing in hangars
I'll get used to the ship and it's dimensions (big ol' butt) eventually, this is my first day with it after all.
The hangars are a pretty right squeeze, you basically have to put your cockpit glass right against one end to get her to fit.
it's been a while since I set it up but I believe it happens when you unbind all flight movement/vehicle rotations from the mouse input. It should then support both toggle & hold function
Not very intuitive I know
Just had a look on Spectrum & apparently it's a Smart Toggle button now on Z by default so can try just tapping your Freelook button
Is the shaking up and down in the bottom laser turret on the mole a new thing or has it always been like that?
I do have all that unbound, it's one of the first things I do. My mouse currently, if I move it while flying, moves my character's head.
Oh, so it's a toggle already? I'll try it after I log in.
consumables like surge and stampede help a lot
It does work as a toggle! Heck yeah, now the look function is actually usable.
nice! yeah I pretty much have it permanently on freelook mode and double tap to reset to centre & re-engage freelook
I don't even have to double tap it, I just click again to center. I have it on a foot button, so I don't have to worry about more hands stuff.
first click centres it, but takes me out of freelook mode
Oh gotcha
but yeah hold just doesn't work smoothly on stick
Finally something to map my other foot switch to that's useful.
On the sc-trade site, are the uptick counters accurate for the commodities? Like if it says +8,681/min, that's how much it increases every minute at that location?
Guess I answered it myself. I've been here for several minutes now and it hasn't upticked yet.
Soooo the Raft barely slows down in time to get scanned by the cops. I thought that was going to end bad.
Eek
I've used forel, since the description sounded like it was the best for big rocks. I guess not then
surge gives you a big jump in charge, if you time it right you can get right into the green, or in really tough rocks you can jump up enough and wait for it to decrease enough to use it a second time to get into the green. Then you can use stampede to double the rate of progression when its in the green so it cracks faster than it can decrease.
In my third slot i usually take a passive mod like torrent III
optimum is also a good pick though, it increases the size of the green zone.
Oh okay. Thanks for the tips @crimson oak .
Gonna try that next time.
Cheers mate 👍
I’ve been tracking cargo runs on a spreadsheet. This is for fluorine runs.
Flourine runs sounds like something you should see the doctor about.
what trading posts?
Arcorp mining 157 to Deakin’s, both on Yela
In a C2 it takes me roughly 12 minutes to complete one run but you could probably optimize that a bit.
And by one run I mean purchasing at 157, flying to Deakin’s, selling, and flying back to 157
I wish the mole showed the quant timer and load makeup on an MFD for the pilot.
yeah that would be handy
trading wise i dont think ive ever touched flourine
usually astatine, titanium, diamonds
I feel like the profit isn't as big, but the risk is also lower
Like, low-profit materials are less enticing to steal, imo
steal? O_o
Is piracy not a thing yet? I'm still rather new to the game
Yea mostly just wanted to be out of the way. I’m doing titanium routes now and gonna be tracking those as well.
no not really, if you steal someones ship you cant sell anything from the cargo
Ah
well i guess you could possibly grab one crate at a time
Lol good luck with that
but crates dont always show and even then its tedious and buggy
The risk is lower in the sense if a crash or something happens you aren’t losing as much as if you had a full load of titanium.
True true
I did have my internet connection drop at one point after buying a full load of Flourine
Set me back a little bit lol
I estimated you can make about 130-140k an hour in a C2 running Flourine
Yea it works out pretty good as a way to get up the funds to purchase a full load of titanium.
Grabbing a prospector for the first time in years. Which mining heads / consumables do I want?
What cargo would be most profitable in easy loops using a rented Freelancer?
Lancet head for quantanium, surge, stampede, and optimum or a passive mod like torrent III
astatine, titanium, diamonds
laranite+agricium when possible but thats always sold out.
Laranite has the best margin right now if you can front the capital to purchase a cargoload
Just want to start getting big money, and doing trade loops seems a simple way(if boring)
Though idk how much of a margin I'll have starting out, lol
how much capital do you have to invest upfront?
keep in mind if something happens to your ship or you have to reclaim it at a terminal, you lose the cargo and your investment
I have just over 500k total atm, hence using a rented freelancer
Cause my only ship is a 300i
if you're good throwing in 150-200k you could get a hull full of laranite, which looks like it would probably net you around 30k per trip right now
assuming you can find enough to fill your cargo which is rare
it happens but its rare
Fair enough
supply and demand are shared across all servers
Rip
That's probably be why I couldn't sell scrap the other day then
so the more citizens buying something the less the stock of it, and the more trying to sell to TDDs, the less demand at those TDDs
basically. if you go somewhere and it shows up but is red, that means they dont have enough to sell you, or dont want to buy from you because they have enough
Gotcha
Mining Calculator, Trade, Prices, Risks, Profitability, Mass to SCU Converter, Ships List, SCU, Prices and more
So... given Laranite is valuable, a less valuable material may be easier to trade?
most commodities have poor margins right now due to oversupply from players running cargo
correct, but you're limited by your hold's SCU capacity. So you could try to run aluminum or corundum but might end up spending more on fuel than you make in profit on those runs
Mmmm
I think Al has a margin of something like 20 UEC/SCU right now
scrap can only be sold on particular stations now
I went to multiple of them, and the number was always red. Didn't know what it meant
if you read the latest patch notes you'll see the particular stations where you can sell scrap at
If he could see the commodity under the sale tab, but the number was red, that means there is no demand for it.
Again, I went to them, but the option to move the slider when selecting scrap was greyed out and the number on the scrap was red.
the right stations listed in the patch notes?
if so then yeah probably all maxed out
Yes, the ones in the patch notes.
I loaded 17 scu of refined quant into my Connie this morning and now it's gone. No work order, no crates. 😡
no need to be a dick about it geo, i was just making sure, there are a lot of new players and returning who dont have all the info.
stay classy though dude.
I appreciate you making sure, but I had responded after you mentioned only certain stations that I had been to more than one of them, as in I had gone to more than one of the specific locations.
I didn't make it explicitly clear, because I figured you got what I was saying.
yeah but for all i know the stations you went to were not the right one and you were not aware of it only being available at very specific stations, not everyone reads patch notes so ive learned to be very patient and open minded when trying to help people.
I've been playing the game for a couple weeks now and i heard mining is profitable, how much aUEC can u make from mining? and is is something hard to learn?
like anything else, it depends on how much you grind at it. There are different ways to mine, each with different methods and reward/risk level. All methods involve using a mining laser which is a mini-game type mechanism where you charge a rock and have a "green zone" to maintain the charge to break it.. then you can gather the ore you can sell. At the bottom, there is hand-mining in caves. At the top, quantanium mining with an Argo MOLE. There are good videos in youtube for the various methods. At the bottom with a rented ROC and Cutless to carry it in, I mined enough hadanite to make around 400k in a week of the time I had for it. This month's subscription ship of the month is an Argo MOLE. I'll make around 15mil by the end of the month.
Do both ROC fit into the Cutlass?
I know the ROC does, I don't know about the DS ROC
So dont mind me asking, but how does this work if I would buy the ROC? Spawn both and drive the ROC into the cutlass?
you would claim the ship on a station, then fly to a place you want to mine - lets say Daymar for an example. You'd fly to ArcCorp Mining 141 where they have a ground vehicle pad and summon your ROC. Then you drive it into the back of the cutlass and fly around looking for gems to mine. Once you have it, you can keep it in the cutlass and store it on a station and you can sell ore stored on the roc and it will be there when you claim your ship again. Just be aware you have to fly back to a ground pad and repair the roc periodically or bad stuff happens.
Thanks!
Pretty much. I grab all the laranite I can at sites, and then grab the next most valuable one. Laranite is usually pretty wiped out, I've only managed to fill my Raft once with it, and the Raft isn't even a big cargo ship.
ya end up buying astatine/titanium/diamonds more than anything else.
looking for a crew to bring my friends into on the weekends
FYI don’t trade scrap it’s broken again for some reason
again? O_o
Broken how? Did you sell them at Lagrange points?
If you want to contribute to Issue Council on this: https://issue-council.robertsspaceindustries.com/projects/STAR-CITIZEN/issues/STARC-28481
A lot of you have told me that you haven't been able to sell Scrap. While I was able to sell Scrap on the first day of 3.16, I haven't attempted it since then until yesterday's stream, where I was unable ...
It is probably without the fixed refresh rate they did for all the other commodities
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year all my mining and trading friends
Yeah wish i saw that earlier, full cargo hold with scrap i cant get rid off now lol
Big rippp
can ROC change the weapon to mining?
Hey guys -- sorry for a dumb question.. how do I scan for asteroids with my mole?
I am pretty sure I'm doing it right by the guides but I'm probably not..
spose you could mine a bunch on one character.. sell it.. then pick it up with the other as a cargo runner and sell it elsewhere. 😛
hmm
thanks @hollow sedge, why would my UI keep glitching out when I'm mining an asteroid? is it broken currently?
Because i can't see how close it is to the green/red zone
that bar vanishes
you have to move back and forth sometimes
doesnt help that you're in a mole
feck
thank you so much!
this is my first time trying this so I'm a total newb - any and all tips would be much appreciated ❤️
any tips on hunting bexalite on daymar? Spawn patterns, if it appears with other minerals, geography, high volume locations?
mining in argo mole/need 1/have mining expierence/paying 100k per found GOOD cluster.
Did they fix ROC mining? like the extraction and do nodes still spawn under environment rocks?
I already have a cutlass black, it seemed to me that the ROC was paid off faster
I rented a prospector as well but I think It just seemed I lost 70k lmao
on rental the roc is more profitable
OK it's what I was thinking
but if you save up for a prospector then you'll make more from that once you modify it
its only a little over 2 mil
I kinda feel like I'd be better off doing bounties or rescue missions with the cutty
@misty swift v, tab to scan and then hold left click when your within like
75m of the rock
thank you so much @thin escarp
where's a good place to roc mine?
lancet w/ stampede and surge modules is the best setup for quant or is there an alternative?
daymar due to easy weather
idk but i end going to alberdeen for some reason, maybe because its more adventurous
Are planets good for mining?
Anyone know if it is even possible to mine larger 50% quant rocks solo in a Prospector? If so, what equipment do I need?
I have a Lancet MH1 with a FocusIII and FLTR-XL
On about 40% and up, especially rocks with over 3,500-ish mass, I can't make any progress on the mining power level (right side. If I make any progress, I quickly loose it out of nowhere.
The % doesnt really matter, what matters is the mass. You should be able to break rocks up to 5k with the prospector. You may want to look into the surge, stampede and brandt modules to help
i think you have to use surge modules plus stampede id wait for other answers
what about 8k mass?
Negative, need friends to break those
can you solo it with the mole or still need people?
I haven't found any 8Ks, yet.
I couldnt do it solo in a mole, a 7900 mass. Tried helix 2, multiple surges, lancet, stampede. Even if I got it to green, it dropped too fast for stampede
Ive seen plenty of 8k+ on lyria
i feel like i waste too much time with 5k rocks
You need a surge to ram it up to green
Stampede to blast it through green
Once you hit them just right, youll break a 5k in a few seconds
yeah i have to stock up and bring them to arc l1
Yeah it's a pain
I had the stocked at cru l1 and arc l1, then the patch moved the all to a18
I don't understand why the wiki always says ARK-L1 and CRU-L1 sell various modules. They don't sell modules.
remember to scroll on the tabs at the top
You buy them in the clothes terminal?
Where?
OH! Why can they not put those pretty things most of us call a SCROLL BAR? Maybe an arrow button. Anything to show that there is more menus.
Nice! They sell the Brandt and Stampede modules here at ARK-L1!
To save myself a bunch of running around, in which part of New Babbage is TDD?
Commons
Thanks, I had already found it. I just wasn't all that familiar with NB. I've only explored it once before, and due to performance issues never went back except to beeline to the expos.
is it normal to find 1 quantanium rock with 30% takes about 2 hours? 😄
Got bored with the laranite runs so I decided to run some medical supplies around MT and somehow ended up with a net loss...
So how does one solo with a Prospector ship? After my ship is full, what's the next step?
Go to a refinery and put your stuff in there to get refined.
Or, you can sell it raw.
Is the profit difference for the amount of time vastly different between those options?
You get a lot more for refining (also depending on what refining method you use) compared to selling it as-is.
There are multiple methods?
It's a balance of speed, cost, and yield.
The Refinery Deck is a space station deck available at Rest and Relax space stations. At a refinery deck raw minerals can be refined to increase the value of the resource with each station offering different amount of profit margins for a certain mineral, and the time to complete a job is depending on the amount of minerals and the workload of t...
Quick Question: What is the best location to go quant mining?
One annoying thing about the Raft. It has a lot of floodlights. A lot. Many ships have nuclear headlights, even small ships. You'd think that the Raft would be able to light up a moon.
Headlights off.
Headlights on.
When mining, do y'all end up getting attacked often by other players?
ive been attacked just travelling around much less while mining
Not really. In three years I've been attacked by players maybe three times.
ive been attacked 4 times in the last week
3 times i got blown up. i ran away the 4rth time
Note that I'm not talking about going to PO, that's just asking to get attacked if you go there. Same with Grim Hex.
It's been a very, very rare thing for me.
so twice were at moon stations. once was in space when i was just sitting trying to configure my joystick. killed me before i could get out of the menus
the 4rth where i got away was outside of grim when someone tried to get me before i entered the docking area
on a good note. know how to run away now lol
heard two other guys who got ganked first playhing the game in discord. they both left angry. not sure if they will play again.
both first day players
Sadly that happens quite a lot in games that have this kind of open PvP.
shame really. that just means the trolls win
i wont stop playing. but it WAS agiating for me initially. i was just trying to learn to play when it happened to me as well.
I've left games because of people like that. I'm not a PvPer in any aspect, I'll be the one running away too.
It’s pretty important to give people a chance to actually learn in an accessible way before opening things up to pvp sharks
Possibly even ensure there are always ways to play without having to deal with that
A lot of games have tried to do the “full open pvp all the time” thing and they inevitably fail because griefers drive away the rest of the playerbase, and all the whinging about “there should be stakes” doesn’t change that outcome
There is a way to stay away from pvp, just go to the places that aren’t popular. I would dare to suggest if you are getting attacked regularly as a miner you have watched a guide and are going to the most popular mining locations / using the best ‘meta’ routes. This map is huge you can easily go find your own quiet space.
I will agree though, that maybe having like a tutorial menu from the home screen that's literally just a mock up of certain experiences, and there is no rep gained or lost, it's just practice
any other planets worth mining for quantanium?
damn, so sal-2?
Is there better moons for roc mining?
@loud mural arial and aberdeen pretty much have the most
And what about planets?
Here's a breakdown of cost/time/profit for Quantainium. Compares the different methods and versus just selling raw.
I always go for dinyx method
I used one of the others when it was unclear if 3.16 was gonna drop when I wouldn't be able to get on to get the job, but I gave up about 47k potential profit to do it.
otherwise ferron or dinyx, yeah
I really want to buy a prospector, right now I only have a cutlass and a Gladius, I think I'll just rent a roc, do deliveries and cargo with my cutty
Maybe some bounties
just got attacked again at a facility out on babbage.. a guy threw a ton of missles at me.. ecm and chaff.. he didnt get me.. so at least i cost him that before i ran off.. one of these days ill have the guns to make them regret it.
i wasnt even mining.. just dropping off a package..
i seem to only run into these guys when im on the usa server... but not on the eu server.. i hate to think thats the mentality here.
Prospector if solo
20%+
I heard there was equipment that would prevent from picking up inert materials?
What should I look for?
Go to the refinery shop on HUR-L1, look for the FLTR XL module
Thanks I'll look it up
yea i would say pick the planet that has good ore to sell then pic spot randomly on planet and slow boat down away from all quantum poi
Pretty much anything. More is better but you might get lucky breaking them down.
When you get back to the station refine only the quant (maybe the othe high values iif you picked some up)
Rinse repeat
then bring the lot someplace to sell it all at once
After about 5 minutes looking for 20%ers I just fly back to a smaller one and more often than not wind up with a hold of pure quant as it broke down good
So if i have one ship to mine, and one to haul the ore back to station, how do i move the ore from the miner to the hauler?
two pilots, not one pilot with two ships
Gotta deliver ore with the mining ship. Hauler is for when it’s refined
Figured I'd just go back to box missions since running cargo in the Raft isn't really all that profitable right now. But I forgot box missions are pretty hit and miss currently.
@twin sentinel20%+ if prospector 30%+ if mole depending on size
for quant
@high lichen you can only haul with your own ships. you cannot use friends either.
refining time takes awhile so you just stack them all up and then take when done.
the load will stay in the refinery
@loud mural i can send you my mining guide if you'd like
Could you send me your guide too?
ROC
id wait for another opinion, but i can reliable make money just roc mining with rentals than a prospector rental
to reap the benefits of prospector mining i feel like you have to upgrade the mining head/modules which is something you cannot do with a rental
otherwise youll be mining stuff that isnt really profitable
Which places now work for selling scrap?
i have a mole. if anyone wants to go out minining i want to learn some new spots
You can make excellent profit with prospector mining with a rental, arguably more if you don't have a spotter and/or are bad at fining ROC minables.
You just have to skip the worthless stuff and hit the higher earners, Ideally Laranite. With 1 good haul of Laranite you can make back the cost of the rental and then make pure profit from there.
So can take like 10-20mins to break even depending on how fast you are with scanning stuff down
isn't ROC mining broken atm?
No
I bought one last night but couldn't find anything after an hour
I'm pretty close from buying a roc
Well not any more or less broken than anythign else
Because it works differently now
I asked in Global and people said it was broken because you cant scan anything to mine
You have to fly low and slow
you can only ping them within 2.5km
I find that flying ~300 vel at around 700-1000m altitude in a straight line and pinging on cd gets be the best results.
as soon as I see a new signature within 2.5km I turn and burn
I tried as low as 100 alt and velocity but couldn't find anything
You could've gotten unlucky
chat defo lied to you unless they broke something badly in 3.16 but not seen any evidence of that 😛
it is annoying to scan down
everything was rocks for prospector pinging at 4-5k
which is why I said that prospector is better as you don't need a spotter. Ideally for ROC you want a buddy to go and spot them with a 100i or something
ah ok nice
yeah if you see something that has distance >2.5k ignore it
@foggy spear i gotchu
@loud mural never rent a prospector
you need to change the laser for it to be worth a damn
uugh more people parroting the same uninformed advise 😛
Where do you find laranite to mine in a prospector?
Asteroid belt is a good place
Also these places
was about to rent a prospector 😦 have cutty black, want to make money to buy trading ship/mining ship wat do
why can't i find a surge mod to buy? any help?
You have to scroll with the mouse wheel on the terminal
oh hey dan! ok i will do that. where at?
At the terminal of a refinery store. CRU-L1 doesn't have it for some reason
I think the last time I bought the S1 surge was at one of the HUR
Yes, to some combination of Helix II and Lancet II
we are two ppl atm
Probably 1x Helix, 2x Lancet
which is better at what?
cuz my friend is always in the laser, and i take tim to go down. is one of them better to be used first?
Helix has more raw power but is kind of a blunt instrument. Lancet has less power but passively widens the target zone
In my mole, I have the helix in the center and the two lancets on the sides— my buddy takes a side and spins up the lancet
Then if it needs more power than he can add I hop over to the helix
aight
If it’s a really finicky rock for whatever reason we can both hop on lancets and make it real easy
lancet mh2?
Yep
helix II?
Yes
spendin 50% of my cash ez
The first good run you have and you’ll make it back
Is there a way to make the mining modules on the HUD not cluttered? Seems like most of the time they are scrambled up, every once in awhile the text will display correctly.
i cant find the lasers at tamany and sons lorville lol
nah it's fked up
welcome to the QA department 😄
please report your findings to management
@modern hedge did you mouse wheel over on the terminal to the utility category?
Any reason why the extraction mode from the ROC doesn't work at all?
edit: switching servers fixed it
mouse over the tab headers and right click, then use mouse wheel, the tab for mining stuff can sometimes be hidden at those vendors
is this still the goal for the cargo refractor ? https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/engineering/14677-Cargo-Interaction
Roberts Space Industries is the official go-to website for all news about Star Citizen and Squadron 42. It also hosts the online store for game items and merch, as well as all the community tools used by our fans.
ive had people get it working again by checking the cargo hold of the Roc and removing one piece of gems
or something like that
just editing the cargohold seems to do something anyway
Thx for the tip 👍
anyone looking to mine?
How's cargo going these days ladies and gents? I'm traditionally more of a bounty hunter, but keen to give it a go. I've got a ship with 456SCU and another with 174SCU, and Crusader is home if that useful info.
I feel like cargo is in a bad place right now. Quantities are so limited it'll take forever to fill up a bigger ship. I've been doing it with my Raft (96scu), and I have to pick up some cheap stuff to fill that.
pretty much
Anyone kno if they fixed the cat elevator yet?
You're just in all the chat threads Brun haha. Yeah I'd head cargo was a bit underwhelming at the moment, dissapointing given it got good again briefly didn't it?
I can't help it, when a chat room lights up that new chat is in there, I have to click on it to make it go back to normal...
how much money can mining make I plan to save up 50k to rent a prospector is it worth it.
how much can you make at once
can't change the loadout on a rented Prospector so it's a bit hard to mine the good rocks (Quantainium) without changing the mining head
but 2mil is kinda hard to get
If you mine with a buddy you'll have a better chance of cracking rocks with 2 lasers
but i have no friends
the only way I get a prospector is ether I save up for it with could take more then 30hrs of constant missions or some one gifs it to me witch I doubt will ever happen
30hrs of constant missions what the fuck.
That is SO wrong
And that's at the most you chold make per misson at 45k per
Dude farming illegal surveillance missions alone is $150k per hour if your lazy
Combine that with 21k alert missions which can be done in starter ships
You'll print money
Investigation missions take 5minutes and pay out 10k too
I was thinking of box missins
Doing illegal monitor missions at microTech— ~10 minutes apiece, 20k per; that’s 100 of those missions for 2mil, so 1000 minutes or about 16 hours, and that’s going fairly slowly and with zero risk
Yeah. Combines them all for allooooot more money
And also assume you kill zero adds for additional Call to Arms cash
also offering to turret gun for someone doing group ert's is good money
Or just finding someone looking for a laser operator for their mole
nyone that can take me out n show me how to mine? u can have the profits
i used to have my own roc and new how to buts its been a while and roc it nowhere to be found
It would probably be a lot more enlightening to look up some youtube videos on it
na
There are good ones on every type
I can
For sure
And I got money so I don’t need a cut
Oh wait I don’t know how to roc mine. It’s bugged
Probably Crossfield if you're just looking for speed and range
Where is that sold
what part of the map are you on?
Port Tressler at MT, Port Olisar at Crusader, Grim Hex, Area 18
I've had some success where the yellow circle is. Plot a course on the red line and drop out of quantum in the yellow circle. I have a Voyage QD on my Prospector. You can beeline to CRU L1 (about 19Mkm) and make it with that QD. Land without clearance to save time storing the ship.
Does anyone have a massive cargo running that I could borrow?
I'd love to make some money doing cargo runs but can't afford a ship yet 😃
you could rent a ship
Largest rental is constallation Andromeda a d that's only 96 SCU, was looking for something much higher is all :)
i dont think you can sell anything in the cargo of someone elses ship
this

can someone tell me what cargo refactor really means, i know we will have physical cargo. but what kind of cargo ?
I assume cargo will be moved in physical 32 SCU sized containers like modern day real life cargo ships
how does the player interact with the cargo ?
is it just boxes you transport for missions
kinda why the new xenos ship the railen is the way it is
ive no idea im sure there will be smaller sized containers like the way it is now but i suspect large 32 scu sized containers will have a big part to play, all cargo haulers seem to have multiples of 32 cargo space wise
id assume so, probably stored in boxes youd have to pysically move instead of drag and dropping into inventory windows
theres supposed to be cranes and traktor beams to help move containers like that in docking bays
tbh it will probably be a bit more of a pain in the arse to move stuff around 😛
Joined star citizen during an exciting year
oh ive no idea when it will arrive
well yea, a pain in the ass but more immersive and realistic
would give a lot of gameplay mechanics to it
it could open up more gameplay professions, if it is a proper labour, having to move stuff, if they also implement some sort of contract courier system along with it.
hire out other players to move your stuff around
yeaa
and it would make supply lines and trade routes more fun and actually needed
where pirates can board you and take your cargo
or orgs cutting supplies of other orgs to cripple them and take them out easily
looting cargos, salvaging ships, ransoming ships/cargo
that sounds optimistic to me
so things are looking good
yea i mean they will probably release it a bit later
but still
we have a general idea
oh theres no shortage of that
Is there any way to claim refined minerals without a cargo hold large enough to hold the entire workorder?
should I get a roc when I have enough money and forget about any hand mining, will fit in my freelancer max
no afraid not, you can rent ships to use as a hauler though
id rent a roc first to see if you actually enjoy it, since its kinda buggy right now and you might find it awful. also yes it will fit in the freelancer max
Hi guys how long does it take for outpost stock to refresh?
You can click on trading, set up some filters and look. But from what I've seen, it isn't very accurate.
ty
It seems to be every ~5-10 mins, some stock comes back
Thankyou
Maybe. I've waited 20m or more before and never saw a restock.
That's mostly because the prices are the "base" ones. The economy is dynamic, but there's not way to extract that data from the LIVE servers, so I can only offer the datamined prices 😅
Yeah. Kinda stinks how it is, but I get why it is.
Demand for Scrap seems to not come back at the moment
Instead of waiting around at one place, I started just moving on to the next one instead.
I Have a Taurus what's good to haul? Fairly new to the supply and demand game
Anyone wanna mole mine with me?
ideally laranite and agricium but realistically you're talking astatine, titanium, diamonds, distilled spirits, medical goods.
Thx so much
np
Is there a way to increase the maximum shots my repeaters have? Will changing the Power Plant increase it?
just changing the priority on the capacitor triangle
moving it to give more priority to guns, though it will come at the cost to shield or afterburner regen
So what's a realistic income/hour figure for mining and just selling the ore vs. refining and hauling. I assume since this game is pretty close to peak nerd that it's been fairly exhaustively kept up with for each patch?
when all the mining and refining ships are in the game, with a Group / Company doing it, it will be profitable, if you are prospecting solo in the Prospector, in the Arron Halo Belt i have an Avg haul of 25k per hour but have made upwards of 120K per hour finding Rare Materials
Oh wow so it's not even remotely viable vs contracts right now.
untill you have the best equipment Prospect mining doesnt net good returns
like a stock Prospector i would be lucky to get 12k per hour
(outside the obvious massive bugs in missions)
and a Stock Mule return even with a full crew didnt net much profit when you split the returns fairly
and also with 30K and what not all Mining / Cargo is High Risk High Reward
also if you mine cirtant unstable Ore's and you dont refine it in time you loose everything in your haul
Yeah I knew about the quantanium thing, but I'm not there yet.
And honestly if that's how bad it is at the moment that's pretty disappointing. I hope they're going to have some new stuff on that front soon.
Bounty's / mercenary for good/ bad , Claim Jump. and Illegal Claim Jumps are the money makers in terms of ship combat
so that s what i do
I disagree. If you are picky with what you pickup I regularly can pull ~100k - 200k aUEC per hour in a prospector with quantanium.
If you have a mole you can do even better (albiet at the cost of stress). Sure sometimes I only come back with 80k, but then sometimes, like last night, I picked up a rock that once refined will pay me close to 500k aUEC.
My AVERAGE run over the past 9 runs in the mole is 223,238 aUEC
prospector would likely be 50% - 60% of that
on average.
I make like 300-500k per hour in a prospector, depending on RNG
Gotta know how to fly and what you're doing though, it's a bit knowledge based
Best place for quant mining I've found is the halo.
biggest time investment is scouting for rocks, so that's what you should focus on getting better at
I never had that much luck in the halo. Or in the prospector for that matter. Even a FULL load of quant is only worth 275k aUEC, and thats assuming you pickup 100% quant and nothing else... how can you possibly manage to average TWO full loads of pure quant in an hour?
halo is pretty rich, finding a suitable rock in 10-15 min is pretty common. Like I said, some of that is RNG, like when you drop out and the first rock is a 30%+, but you can minimize the time you waste when searching a lot as well
fly at 300-350 m/s, dont stop for 1 or 3 rock clusters, dont waste time at rocks you can't scan, etc
make sure you fly the prospector in pitch at all times and put all power to engines. It recharges its boost really fast and it's actually pretty zippy if you know what you're doing. The faster you can fly, the more ground you'll cover, the higher the odds of finding a good rock.
jesus dude i think you're doing it wrong. I make like 200k every 20-40mins on average. Solo on a Prospector mining Quant on Lyria.
i prefer space mining
is there a trick to roc mining
it keeps swirling around the mining head when i try to extract it
I noticed that on my last ROC run on 3.15. I tried not to extract too many at once. They would swirl around but eventually get sucked in after a few seconds. Try to grab too many and they would spin around and even get tossed and scattered.
So if a bunch are lying on the ground, I just start from one side and very slowly sweep across, trying to get 2-3 at a time.
i much prefer space mining as well but unfortunately right now that comes with a lot of ghost rocks and less concentrations of quant compared to places like Lyria. I still hit up Aarons halo now and again though none the less, when it does work its just so much more convenient cracking rocks in space.
Ive read about people checking the cargo hold of the roc and editing it, like taking a piece out of the cargo, then it extracts fine. I don't know why but it seems to work for people.
Any guide on upgrading my prospector for quicker QT?
erkul.games
head there and find the prospector
Yep. Use that site to find the balance between speed and distance capability to suit your needs.
I use a Class A Military drive, VK-0 i think.
whats the best qt for freelancer max
Thanks
@hollow sedge check the site mentioned above.
@storm pilot i average around 600k a run in my mole every 30 ish minutes. in a prospector i'm doing 200k+ every 25 minutes solo
i dont sell unrefined. its just to little money compared to selling refined.
i only mess with quantanium though.
i would completely ignore the dude who said 12-30k average run
I also have 2 videos and a mining guide for this patch i can send you to help you out
Now that we can sell scrap in 3.16 is it worth the time?
I guess I should also ask, is there any hauling which is more worth the than before in 3.16?
Any of the changes in 3.16 affect cargo and mining? I looked at the patch notes and didn't see anything about mining gadgets. I thought that was supposed to be in 3.16.
no not really
they were supposed to fix some scan bugs but they haven't really
the only real difference 3.16 has made that I have noticed is that bounties are now playable again
Yes, that's what I'd really like to see fixed!!!
mining and trade is pretty much the exact same
Guess it's all about Jumptown 2 right now I bet. Haven't gotten in. Will tonight.
yeah JT is quite popular, causing a lot of drama, player interaction on the whole as intended
Does JT2 have any kind of passive income like the XT did (which turned out to suck)?
no not really, any income is pro-active, you have to gather these drug containers, which spawn every 30 seconds or so, an infinite amount of times
each will get you about 17.5k credits when cashed in
I assume that getting the containers is PvP and you have to fight for them?
rarely on the whole, most people cooperate to farm the place
but there are moments when player orgs kinda take it over and it provokes fights
or solo individuals might camp it and kill on sight
or suicide bombers just dive in on the place
but most of the time its just random players running in and out grabbing a few boxes, without any interaction.
Can you only cary out one container at a time?
yep, through two air locks
most use the traktor beam on multitools
but one crate at a time
Sounds like it could be lucrative.
oh it absolutely is
assuming people work together or you find a dead server at 5 in the morning
Can the Mole the subs got mine as is (solo, getting out of seat) or does it need attachments to be able to mine.
?
gonna take me forever to save for a prospect lmao
what are good moons for mining with roc?
Do package missions, merc satellite missions, bounties, JT2. Lots of way to get the money for a Prospector fairly quickly.
I like Arial as I recall. I haven't done it lately though.
ok thank you
If I remember correctly, I liked Arial because it's flatter and you need to be flying very close to the ground to find the gem deposits.
Yes you can mine with it as is. Not the best setup, but certainly capable.
If you want you can go mining with me and I'll split the profits your way after expenses are deducted.
Do package missions just 700 times and you can buy a prospector
If you unlock the 8,000 aUEC package missions it's only 260 times you'll have to do them.
That's just around 44 hours of package deliveries, assuming they don't bug out (which they sometimes do)
Mole is fun but man it sucks finding unscannable rocks in it
So tedious to use solo lol
Yup
Love it when you find a big ass rock and can get it all though!
I wish it had auto hover or something. That'd fix a lot of issues I have solo mining in the mole. Storms come through and it's a constant battle of breaking rocks and going back up to reposition.
Oh i space mine in it! Hard to find good rocks but no drift
Have seen 50% quant rocks that i couldn't crack though
Unlock the 45k ones with call to arms active and you only need 40 runs or so
There's 45k ones? 😮
Is that Ling Family?
and red wing once you hit level 2 with them
Nice. Well better get grinding then, I enjoy package deliveries once in a while
How much aUEC/hour can you make on average with a prospector mining quantanium and refining it?
Will a Reliant Kore do well for those missions @sonic laurel ?
A full load gets you about 270,000. How many per hour is down to luck. 1 or 2 maybe
In average I probably just make 270k an hour including scanning, mining and delivery times.
On good day I can make a million per hour though
when i land at a spot where i buy commodities it doesn't let me selcect my ship. does anyone know why?
per hour?
anything that can hold some boxes. They are bunker missions where you go into the bunker and retrieve the box.
Yes but not average. On a good day @trail lily
Aight ty
I personally fly my Nomad
Oh no. How many different places does the boxes need to be delivered? And is it just 1 bunker or multiple?
1 box one bunker
Oh okay that's pretty good. Does the Ling family give those missions as well?
Sucks you can't split work orders or I would be more open to repro
I believe so
Cheers mate
I mostly do bounties and mining, but i need something else
ok i got a roc full of mining stuff. where can i sell it?
I believe the mining outposts
any outpost that has mining in the name?
pretty much
ok thanks
HDMS-whatever in Hurston
is roc mining fixed this patch or still have world wind effect when extracting?
Is there any hard data on rock mass/resistance and working out if a laser can/cannot break said rock without having to try to crack in the first place?
Do trade routes change or do they stay the same all the time
What would be a good ship for hauling? Freelaancer max or the connie tarus for the bigger loads?
I prefer the freelancer max for hauling
freelancer Max at the moment with the Bugged doors, I had to reset character as could not close the cargo bay
on the taurus
I love my Taurus
only thing that really puts me off it is i hate how it looks lol
I love the MAX
can anyone teach me how to mine ive never done it before and i dont have a ship for it
@narrow oak its the same principle for all mining, hand roc or ship.
@spice wyvern ive never done that ether
I'm trying to find what I searched youtube and it was a proper hand holding guide really good
ok
A Guide to Mining with the MISC Prospector [Star Citizen, Patch 3.15.1 - 2021]
this ones not to bad a guide
ok
what ship do you have to start with?
countly nothing at the moment i was going to reant one
I don't think you can upgrade the rented ships components
depends on what your looking to mine and remember some things like Quantanium explode if not got to a refinery quickly
I actually learnt how to mine in the prison, and not really found it to be much fun its more time consuming than bounty hunting for similar rewards until you get good at quantanium mining
ok
some people can make 800K an hour mining
What's the reset timers on Laranite?
my ship randomly exploded in the middle of a delivery mission but my packages are okay, can i still complete the mission if i force respawn?
@narrow oak I can teach you. I'd suggest renting a prospector and mining everything that is high value (Bexalite, Taranite, Borase, Laranite, Agricium) at first. Quantanium has the highest return, but it's a little more advanced. You can blow yourself up if you aren't careful.
Lots of mining guides on YouTube. Here's a good one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xfgIp_ByeJc
This guide goes over the basics of ship mining. it includes a MOLE Tour, an overview of the HUD and controls, and how to break and extract mineable.

when I start mining does it matter what I mine as a beginner
well, don't go for quantanium right off. Everything else is probably fine. You want to learn the mechanics of mining first
yeh few more jobs should have enough to buy the roc
Finally worked up enough aUEC via mining to buy a C2 Herc. Any suggestions on how I should use it? All that cargo space must be good for trading
It’s such a PITA that the surge modules aren’t available in more places
Like seriously, probably the most used module and its only available in 3 places…
What consumables do I need for Quant mining
The surge modules i'm buying at PO aren't showing up in the local inventory. I'm in my Titan and wanna transport some to CRU L1.. Any workarounds?
Can still put mining heads on rented prospectors?
dont think so
@lapis bridge not sure, I buy several at HUR-L1 and put them in ship inventory to take back to home base.
actually enroute right now to get more
cause i crashed and wasted all mine running from pirates.
ran into a damn asteroid
I'm new and didnt know inventory has multiple pages, i thought it was an infinite scroll down. They were on the second page lol
nice
i the caterpillar elevator bugged?
yep
well f that
hello everyone
gues im hauling in an other ship then
i minning with the hand tool
Sup dale
now i pickup and store all my diamant in my bag.
how i can sale now
i cant transform my diamant in package
I always went to a station, go to the admin office, and use the trade console in there
also if i have all my diamant in my bag?
Should be fine
i cant anymore transform the diamant in box?
You mean refine?
no. store all commodities
I never could get it to work
I just threw them all on the floor or in a backpack
You can leave them on the floor of your ship cargo area and store it when you get to a station and you will be able to select your ship in the console
ok. or i have go direct in the admin office with my backpack
Yep, either one’
ok. what is better? leave in the cargo or backpack?
Cargo holds more
ok. leave them on the floor
I say you skip it and come mine with me on Lyria. 🙂
good idea but not today. its late for me here in switzerland. maybe another day?
K
anyone up for some cargo hauling
Like what?
legal stuf
How much can you make?
depends on how much you can put in but in general about 25 to 30k for every 100k you put in
kk i have only done mining in one of the turrets on a mole and didnt like it
Yep, in a mole right now. Good money
What's the % of quant in an asteroid that's acceptable and can fill my prospector? With like 4.5k mass
Station may be full?
how i can reconize?
Are they red?
I dunno
Any ideas why my prospector isn't scanning
It won't scan rocks in space
Damn found 2 quant rocks, 48% and 37% next to each other
can i mine laranite with a rented prospector?
@sly copper its probably a ghost rock
super common in space
i'd just mine on lyria. nearly 0 ghost rocks on moons
delivery missions still not working then 😦
Is it the right box?
boxes 1&2 dropped ok just not the last
yeah it was the 3rd box
someone else said the covex machine wouldn't take their box so must've been a server issue
Are you walking away/moving at all straight after placing the box?
might have this time I usually wait until it accepts it
should I avoid delivery missions, I just did a trial one but that was only 1 box
Box missions dont really pay too much off the bat, but there are 45k missions for boxes
well I am doing anything I can to get money for the roc
Box missions can be really buggy right now, dispensers spitting out the same box over and over, dispensers not accepting boxes, shelves not accepting boxes, boxes becoming unusable.
The only ones that consistently work for me are the single box ones, the quantum sensitive around Hurston. Pays 20k, but can take a while. You need to fly out of atmo then circle the planet.
Halt Illegal Surveillance missions are a pretty good source of starter money
looking for someone to do cargo/delivery missions with message if interested
@torpid needle yep. You can mine any minable rocks. The fact that it’s rented doesn’t limit it’s capability other than swapping heads.
Anyone know if the medical supplies to ninetails is worth it?
if u got the cargo space yes
oh wait
i know you
?
just remember fighting you in game
Don't remember you
do i have to buy the medical supplies and sell them at Cru L4 for the illegal blockade event?
Is Nine Tails medical hauling viable/profitable? If it's only profitable in a big ship, what size ship?
When you get to that 45k mission is it for delivering one box ... or how many steps are there if not? How much opposition do you encounter on that one?
How to get into caterpillar 3.16 PU
Ship doors and ramps are having trouble in 3.16, supposedly it has made the Cat unusable. One player reported RSI is offering loaners to Cat owners in the meantime - I don't own one so can't confirm.
Yep. The I’ve had the mole get damage and it won’t let me lower the elevator to get back in it. Have to claim a different ship then crash it into the mole to blow it up so I can claim a new one.
100% accurate. Cat owners have a C2 and a black as a loaner for now
How much is the mole to buy ingame anyone know?
Little over 5m
tnx
5.1 mil
another then roughly 170k for the lasers.
def get a x1
thats another 93k
hard to buy laranite atm, is everyone just doing cargo running?
This event is crazy for cargo running.
guys which mining laser modules for Quant, Lancet and what passive mods do u use?
Is there a bug with scanner where it wont scan a rock?
anybody near lyria SAL-2? could need help with a 7820 44% rock
I dm helping, if you can tell me where SAL-2 is, cannot see it on a cap
map*
@hollow sedge
What's the difference between a passive and module?
passive works all the time, active modules you gotta manually activate them to get the benefits
the shortcuts are usually alt+1, 2, 3
they usually only work a short period as well
anywhere to sell scrap today?
Dont, scrap is still kinda broken
I currently have ~500k aUEC. Should I get a ROC and start mining or grind illegal surveillance missions to buy a prospector?
Try to go prospect for a few rocks, see how you like that first
As in, try to find ROC minables
Just to see if ROC mining is for you 🙂
The roc costs nothing to rent. I'd try that first.
Personally I find ROC mining incredibly tedious and I'm sure I could make more money grinding Illegal surveillance
Anyone going to answer this? I have the same question
I've already done ROC mining back in 3.13
Yeah roc mining is very frustrating for me
I’ve come to the conclusion that mining for quant in the halo sucks. No rhyme or reason for where it spawns. Spend too much time looking.
Depends on what ship. Prospector I use a FLTR-XL. Mole I don’t use any passive, only surge and stampede
Prospector
Then there ya go, FLTRXL is what i run for passive
hi can you help me with a question, I run out of time with the medical cargo mission, and i dont knwo the cargo will be remain if i log out and only come back when the next event started? or the server switch clear my cargo and safer to sold the supplies now
can someone tell me if i can do another mining run while there are minerals beeing refined?
You can and you should
You can. Keep stacking your refining jobs in there.
Fill the refinery up with work orders, fill up a big cargo ship when alot is done and sell it at TDD
so once its done i need a ship to: refinery>ship>selling terminal?
Yep
You store your cargo ship at the station and transfer the refinery job from the refinery terminal to the cargo ship
Mining basically requires two ships now, one to mine with, and one to transfer/sell with.
Guys whats a good spot for quant mining? I’ve done several runs in the aaron halo, and its seems good. Takes like 15-20 mins to find a decent % quant asteroid. Is there any place better?
That sounds pretty good tbh
Yea it’s like 30 mins total with the road and actual mining
Lately the yela belt has been dissappointing to me. It can take anywhere between 1 - 60 min. to find a decent quantanium rock.
I've started mining other stuff as it is less stressful and you don't HAVE to wait for that 20%+ rock
Yea i feel bad when i have to pass on a 15%
And also missing those clusters that are unscannable with potential quant there
It just turns into a race and constantly calculating your hourly rate. That's not what I wanna do anymore lol. I just mine on lyria for agricium (spelling?), laranite, taranite and whenever a quantanium rock turns up it's just a bonus
Well im new and i wanna buy my next ship, so i dunno what else can give this much money
just wait until midnight and the event will be up again, keep the ship there at cru-l5
check #general-news for the timers on the vent
event
Quan mining has been shitty for me. If you can mine 270k worth every half hour average you're doing pretty good imo
Lyria is pretty awesome for quant.
And where do you go to refine?
Has anyone done the 9T med delivery mission? Any issues getting stock, and was the pay good?
@worthy scroll
I got like 1.5k profit from getting 8 SCUs there and 8k mission bonus
But the first 2 outposts i tried to get supplies from were out of it
I think you can, i only did 8 because i was flying the Titan
Still only 33k profit for a Taurus load + 8k for the mission bonus.
It's like they don't even want people to do it haha...
ARC-L1
if you have the mission accepted, there doesn't seem to be a limit to the medical supplies you can buy, so you can fill up a cargo ship and get very good bonus pay for the mission.
So you reckon I could fill 456 SCU and make 85k + bonuses?
Was it 1k bonus per SCU?
Cause that could get crazy...
War profiteering never looked so good
Nope, total
Yeah but 1k x 8SCU would be the 8k bonus you got paid
Might do a dry run in a cutlass
oh yeah, likely a lot more than that.
there were 3 C2's queueing to land at hickes research outpost earlier lol
i reckon they'll nerf that pretty soon
I bought the supplies for 13.5k , 8 SCUs, sold them at terminal for 15k. Then the mission completed, dialogue something, and 8k awarded from mission
You get attacked at all on the way in?
It looks like the NT lasts about 6 or 7 hours maybe? Does that sound right?
You were actually able to fille a C2?
Right, so it is 1k per SCU
Hwo many times were you able to do that?
Meds spawn faster during the event it seems
Nope, the QT stopped about 180km away, then straight flying to landing pad
Did 3 runs last night and one today
Do you have to wait until the combat portion starts? Or just once the video messages start popping up?
damn nice
Could you typically buy it all in one buy or did ya have do multiple buys?
I started when the lockdown started, not sure on exact timing. One full buy at a time. Two c2s filled up from one refresh at Hickes
Also has journal alerts about overstock
The buy in is like 1.1mil so can be risky with the pvp
I assume the overstock alerts will not come for a site unless it has the stock at that time.
Yeah 770k to fill my carrack, spicy
Carracks are like 400 ish SCUs right?
Might be safer to use the Connie T
456
Pretty good for a non hauler
Why you say safer in a Connie? Than a Carrack?
Awesome
Damn i'm thinking of renting a cargo ship so i can get in on this haha
buy-in
I have two accounts. I'm thinking about starting my other account in Area 18 for it's home. Anyone done that and like it? I usually pick Loreville because it's more central to the system.
one question, once i get my ore refined, where do i sell it?
is freelancer the biggest freighter i can rent?
Lasts for 6hrs, next one starts in 4hrs 15mins
any major city has a TDD, a trade room like a stock exchange.
I believe the Constellation Andromeda is the highest cargo of the rentable ships, expensive to rent though.
Worth it for this event thou, no?
Do i lose the cargo in a stored ship if i claim it somewhere else?
Tell me when you find some Laranite
Just less risk in any one trip.
Could equally take the carrack half full I guess, as the carrack has bigger shields.
go balls to the wall and take a full C2/M2
Last question; do you get the bonus straight away or have to wait for the event to end?
bonus is a second or so after selling @opaque niche and you get it per sale, can repeat
does someone know how to dim the hud brightness or something? i cant read shit on the prospector
nah, it's awful
there are times it is really obvious the developers don't play this game
lowering your monitor brightness helps apparently
LOL! Tell me if you find that feature! Oh, and some damn windex for the Bucc!
If it's all as it seems from this thread, then you'd pay for the rental in one run... Given the event lasts for a couple of hours should be able to do at least two.
Yep. The rental of a Connie should be paid in one go.
Right now I'm trying to afford a C2 with enough cash to buy the meds too.
Estimate of how much to buy a full hold of meds on a C2?
1.2m
Mining Calculator, Trade, Prices, Risks, Profitability, Mass to SCU Converter, Ships List, SCU, Prices and more
Looks like Med Supplies are trending down currently, likely due to increased activity from the event. But I've heard the bonuses more than make up for it.
Trending down as in less profits?
The profits from the meds don't really matter that much.
yeah. that's what I just said about bonuses. if you have trade tools why are you asking people to tell you what the prices are?
Just asking in case someone had done it several times and had it fresh in their mind. If you don't then just ignore it and don't bi!ch about it.
you can say bitch
hehe
does it have a route mapping tool? I'm trying to navigate the site now
The best way to use Gallog is to just go to the commodities I think.
I just got home from work so idk yet.
It's not running yet I think. Couple hours. Let me know if I'm wrong.
ooh I like how it shows the locations
Was asking on behalf of both of us haha. Have a look up the chain for answers.
Anyone choose Area 18 for thier home in 3.16? If so, do you like it?
Meant to start in 2 hours but seems like it's always late... Was 2 hours 20 late for me yesterday.
I have A18 as my current home. I only use A18 or Lorville.
Yeah NB is a nice place to visit during shows, but that's it and I get free tickets to GimHex other ways!
Orison is an only go there is you have to place for me.
So I think I'll have one of my accounts residing in Area 18 and one in Loreville. Problem solved.
Let me know if you want some pointers on how to use the website 🙂
I wasn't trying to sell the other site over yours. I like yours too for other reasons. 😉
Asking for clarity, a stored ship retains it's cargo, right?
First time ever doing this.
Yes it does
Thanks. I'm taking a couple ships to stock up for the event.
I've never participated in the 9 tails event before. Basically, do I look for a medical supplies mission, fill up my biggest cargo ship with medical supplies, then try to fly to whatever station is blockaded and sell at the admin terminal?
guessing from the previous question, you can pre-fill ships?
I heard people talking about prefilling yesterday, so that's what I spent a couple hours doing. Now I'm just waiting on the missions to start.
have you done the event before? Is that what you do, get some kind of mission then fly to the station that's blocked and sell at the admin office?
This is my first time so 🤷
ah ok 🙂 same boat then. I can't imagine it would go down any other way
what's special about Hickes?
Dunno, but it is one of the places to buy medical supplies.
mostly out of stock from what I've seen. Can't even fill up a max
are those research stations to buy meds linked?
Alternatively 😄

What planet/moon, altitude and speed works best for finding ROC mineables? I know ROC mining is bad this patch, but its relaxing while my wrist heals enough to do combat...
I've been flying between 1000 and 1500 meters (scalping prairie dog height on Aberdeen) at ~50m/s - is that slow and low enough?
It's been a while, but I think you'll need to be much lower
With the mission accepted, it should be at any blockaded station 😕
I'm already needing to dodge boulders/hills
Ha, yeah, it's just what I already had pulled up so I figured why not 😄
so 120k bonus for a full delivery in my max... meh, should have went mining
I have two full ships ready to go, so all I have to do is run them there.
good luck! I just had two ships fire missles at me flying in, didn't hit me though
launched counter-measures
This may sound counterintuitive, but I'd actually suggest flying faster while still keeping to a low altitude. You cover more ground that way and have a higher probability of pinging a ROC mineable. This video helped a lot: https://youtu.be/cVMbZsk_IdU
I know a lot of folks have been having trouble finding ROC mineables since the 3.14 changes to scanning - so I thought I'd break down scanning technique in a bit more detail and try to help you out.

Before, I used to do the "low and slow" method as is often recommended, but since ROC mineables got harder to ping, I found that to be much less effective now. Slightly higher speed and staying low has worked out better for me so far
Thanks
Hope it helps! Good luck 👍
Can't seem to offload my med supplies in the ninetails event
There's literally a line in the admin office because the demand has run dry lol
its broke like usual
Severs seem to have had a seizure, people can't buy or sell.

As a backer, you are the QA
once my ore is refined do i have to go sell it all in one go?
like one run per work order or can i dose it to do multiple runs
it's not broken. it's oversupplied.
All commodities are shared across all severs in the PU. The more people sell of an item, the lower its price drops and the less demand at the locations where its being sold
basic economics
It's sad how shit trading is at the moment
Morning, should i be able to break a 6k mass with my lancet and surge on prospector?
Trading is still crazy profitable for almost zero effort and risk man.
Laranite is always good returns
there is something wrong with my main scan, ive been watching some YT vids where they scan one of those 10km away boxes and they get an overview with how many rocks there are in that location, each rock representing 5k signature, but on my scan nothing ever shows up, and only just gives me a white "overview"
man running cargo is fucking garbage
Haul Laranite. Print Cash.
Easy. Way more running bounties but cargo is super relaxing
@torn moss are you holding left click in scan mode really close to the rocks?
yea not about that im talking about the further away boxes not the actual signature of the rock when close by
the main scan
can you guys recomment some actually working trading tools ?
trading is very sus. hit or miss.
most tools don't get the price even close to reality
i found one where you can report price change
and i did a report : 30 minutes later no response
@torn moss kinda confused on what you are saying. are you talking the lil rock icons?
those show up at under 4500 out
i think he's talking about older version of the game
yeah
I am talking about before the 5000 out scan
it wont show the rock icons until under 4500 to see how many rocks there is.
where are you looking?
ah ok
what moon you on
lydia
Good morning all. Does anyone else have the same issue as me , when mining in the Mole it drops towards the planet , then goes back up again and also constant wobbling ?
It scares me sometimes !! 😂
Also if I put 3 filters on the Mole would that give me 60% less inert or not
Great thankyou
what's a good upgrade from the cutlass for cargo ?
Taurus. Starts and ends with Taurus
Freelancer max is also a solution
